  1. Heck Yeah! Thank you for sharing! 🍻
  2. Are you guys gonna juggle this for another 5ish months so that someone can start a "Why I'm the Reason for the Season" thread?
  3. Rather than old/ new, maybe dense/ normal?
  4. Aha! You're right, that would be cool! I just got off test, and even using the goto command with the circle at your feet, the pet will stay back a little.
  5. you would use the "petcom" commands https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/List_of_Slash_Commands A bind I use a lot on my mastermind is: "/bind ` petcom_all Aggressive Goto" The tilde (`) key is easily within reach of my left pinkie. When ` is pressed, it creates the targeting circle wherever the mouse pointer is. Then you click and the pets go to that spot, and when they get there, they will be ready to fight. Just sub defensive or passive if you want them to go and be ... defensive or passive. Good luck!
  6. So I went through the Homecoming Wiki's "Issues" pages and did a simple search for "brute" and noted what was found. Below is a simple cut and paste or summary of what I saw. This may not be everything, and I leave the "heavy handedness" of the entries to the reader. Please take a look yourselves if you think something is missing. +++ Issue 7 Visual f/x for Brute Invulnerability powers changed. They are now darker and more villainous. New Power Sets: Brute Primary - Electric Melee, Brute Secondary - Electric Shields Tanker, Scrapper and Brute Taunt powers will now accept Accuracy Enhancements. Note that these enhancements will have no effect in PvE, as the powers automatically hit PvE targets. The change is made strictly for PvP purposes. Brute Patron Powers added Issue 8 nothing Issue 9 nothing Issue 10 Added Brute buffs to Kheldians Fixed an issue with Brute Energy Punch which could cause it to generate Fury much faster than designed. Issue 11 Gave Brutes Willpower Issue 12 Gave Brutes Battle Axe, War Mace, and Super Reflexes Issue 13 Gave Shield Defense to Brutes Issue 14 nothing Issue 15 mothing Issue 16 Gave Brutes Claws Issue 17 nothing Issue 18 Brute Fury: Upper end Fury generation made more difficult to achieve, however, the loss of Fury at the lower ends was slowed down so that the Brute was more likely to keep some amount of Fury up. Higher rank foes help generate more Fury. Issue 19 nothing Issue 19.5 nothing Issue 20 nothing Issue 20.5 nothing Issue 21 Brutes get Katana, Broadsword, Regeneration Issue 21.5 nothing Issue 22 nothing Issue 23 nothing Issue 24 nothing Issue 25 Mercurial Blow for Brutes no longer applies Bruising on the target. Super Reflexes for Tankers now has the correct taunt duration in the Evasion power. The Brute version was already correct. Scrapper and Brute Quills.Barb_Swipe should now play the correct animation on the foe hit when using customized Spines. Issue 26 Changes to Tankers and Brutes including inherent powers Gauntlet and Fury. Brute: Ranged and Melee damage modifiers are now equal at 0.75. Damage buff cap lowered from 775% to 700%. All Brute and Tanker Epic pools now use ranged damage modifiers. Note that due to the above changes, Epic Pools should see no damage change at all. Beta Decay (Tanker, Scrapper, Brute, Blaster): the "first target" 10% recharge buff should no longer erroneously stack for all foes in range. The 2.5% per target recharge buff will continue to stack as expected. Max recharge buff with 10 targets should be +35%. Brute > Fury: Fixed a bug where some auras would passively grant the brute small amounts of +Fury. Fixed the Tanker and Brute Global Taunt Proc not triggering on aura powers. Staff Melee > Precise Strike: Brute version should no longer list twice that it accept Taunt enhancements. A strange Fury power should no longer show up in the Brute enhancement slotting screen. Fix bug where Brute PunchVoke was not triggering on aura powers. Brute Melee > Battle Axe > Cleave: Max targets reduced from 10 to 5 rute > Katana > Golden Dragonfly: Max targets reduced from 10 to 5 Tanker and Brute inherent taunt procs now generate a combat message for the caster, to help determine if the taunt proc is currently working. Ice Melee > Frozen Fists (Brute/Stalker/Scrapper) Power Description should no longer say it adds -res. Gauntlet and Punchvoke changes: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Issue_26_Page_4#Tanker_&_Brute_Changes Katana (including Brute Katana) gets "no redraw" Shadow Maul (Tanker, Scrapper, Brute, Stalker) is now a much larger, faster cone that's actually capable of easily hitting multiple targets - especially on tanks! Arc increased from 45 to 120 degrees Recharge increased from 8 to 11 seconds Cast Time reduced from 3.07 to 2.35 seconds Damage lowered from scale 2.156 to 1.6184 DPS reduction is minor, it has only been lowered from scale 0.653 to scale 0.645 Target Cap increased from 5 to 10 for Scrappers, Brutes and Stalkers Issue 27 Added taunt slotting to many PBAoE's Scrapper | Brute > Energy Aura > Energy Cloak > Fixed a bug where the stealth was not suppressing in combat, preventing the taunt aura from working Brute | Tanker > Martial Arts > Eagle's Claw: Damage buff from this power should no longer be affected by enemy level Brute > Regeneration > Fast Healing: This version of the power should no longer ignore healing enhancements Invincibility (Tanker/Brute/Scrapper) - This power now adds a 1.67% toxic and psionic defense for the first target, and 0.33% for additional targets (total 5% against 10 foes, Tanker values). Resist Energies (Tanker/Brute/Scrapper) - This power now adds psionic resistance. Energy Protection (Brute/Scrapper) - This power now grants Psionic resistance. Overload (all ATs) - This power now grants 33.75% toxic and psionic defense (Brute values). Tank & Brute/Stone Armor/Granite Armor: Now suspends the other Stone Armor armor toggles in the set while transformed instead of deactivating them. Also will suspend travel toggles (Run, Jump and Fly). Suspended toggles cost no endurance while running. Brute/Radiation Melee/Atom Smasher: Was using Smashing Attack, this is now set to Toxic Attack. This power doesn't do smashing damage. Brute/Stone Armor/Earth's Embrace: Changed the +Max HP effects' stack type to Replace. Brute/Titan Weapon/Defensive Sweep (Slow): Was missing its endurance cost. Now set to the intended 5.356 Brute/Dark Melee/Shadow Punch: Description fixed. Battle Axe power order changed Brute > Melee: Fixed a sorting mistake in with the Spines powerset listing in the character creator. Brute > Fiery Aura > Burn: Fixed a bug while using Fiery Embrace that unintentionally created additional patches Soul Mastery/Summon Widow (Brute/Tanker): Can no longer slot ToHit Debuff Sets. Brute/Radiation Melee/Taunt: Now hits 5 targets (was set to 10 before). New Epic Pools were added for Brutes Many Epic Pool Adjustments Issue 28 nothing +++
  7. I made a Dark/Psi/Psi Brute with Fold Space. I slotted Aura of Insanity with 3 lvl 50 Acc/Mez HO's. On a +1x8 door mission vs Carnies, it was fun to fold enemies in, and then use the various PBAoE's. AoI was definitely disrupting the mob's attacks, and letting me grind through fairly comfortably. Now, obviously that's not tippy-top tier content, but was fun. If the resist toggles get a little bump up, and Impose Presence gets verified, I think AoI is skippable for sure. I think I'll make a Psi/Spines/? Tanker this weekend and see if a damage aura in the mix makes for a fun "tar pit" kind of character.
  8. there is a slash command "/powexec_toggleon" that you can use in a bind like this /bind (whatever key you want) powexec_toggleon (name of the power) So something like "/bind I powexec_toggleon Icy Bastion turns the "I" key into a on switch for Icy Bastion. Then you can put the Icy Bastion button somewhere you can see but are less likely to accidentally click so you can watch when it's active or not. You can use the same command as part of a Macro like this "/macro ICY powexec_toggleon Icy Bastion" to make a button labeled "ICY" that is an on switch for Icy Bastion.
  9. Titan Weapon/ Ninjitsu Brute FTW! Stealth Attack Chainsaw GO!
  10. It works one of two ways: 1) You target an enemy, activate the power, and it buffs Tank damage. 2) You target an enemy, activate the power, and for every foe in range of the effect either a) they get sucked into the middle or b) they are immune to repel and get phased instead.
  11. You know, I'd be happy if Dominators (only) got a Giant Black Cat power customization option. Maybe based on the ones in Night Ward?
  12. Some alternatives I've thought up since reading the post above: Astonishing Ambush Brilliant Barrage Deafening Display Ferocious Fusillade Overwhelming Onslaught Shimmering Salvo Volatile Volley Flabbergasting Blast All offered freely.
  13. Ha! I was told that the moose meant "I read your whole post". I'm glad no one knows what's what on some of these 🙂
  14. Lol, it makes it hard for me to decide what to roll and level up first: do I want buffs or salt? 🙂
  15. I went to Perez Park with my lvl 50 Pyro/ Kin Controller, and I was pleased that the Blast Off effect from Incendiary Aura knocked level 7 Clockwork UP not BACK. Overall, I like what the set does, and really like how it looks and sounds. I think once the numbers have been crunched this will be a popular set.
  16. Cool chart! I think my Vigilantes tend to be Pragmatic Saviors, and my Rogues tend to be Ambiguous Pragmatists. I would love to see a well-done Nihilistic Savior character!
  17. I wouldn't. I think that things like specific weaknesses in the way you are describing work best in a more analog, more roleplaying-oriented game environment. With a GM that is taking the Player Character group's weaknesses and strengths into account when designing scenarios and settings, weaknesses can be awesome, and a great way to make a moment more poignant (The Hero braces themselves and runs into the super-freezer to save the hostages, despite having no protection from cold!). However, when designing content for an MMO, how do you make missions or quests that don't make people regret building their character a certain way? I think the "come one come all!" aspect of an MMO means that specific and dramatic weaknesses would require so many content options that players can choose to skip content that punishes their character choices more than they are willing to tolerate. Of course, finding teammates whose abilities cover for your character's weaknesses is a great solution, but sometimes doesn't work out. Having uneven strengths against different kinds of opponents, but not having Kryptonite-level weaknesses is probably the best compromise. And here on HC, you can use the Ouroboros difficulty settings to mimic being weaker or Design an AE mission with the kind of foes you want to fight, all without affecting anyone who isn't on your team.
  18. Well yeah. Civilians are the Grownups. All of us, Heroes and Villains and everything in between, are just children in costumes playing pretend. That's why pedestrians can ignore our powers.
  19. /Time is good too, and Time Stop is a hold, so there's a little control there.
  20. One idea I've used in the past is to think about Dark Melee as using interdimensional energies from a science/ technology standpoint. Or maybe it's some kind of manipulation of "Dark" Matter. Or other sci-fi words like "Quantum Inversion". Since none of the attacks have big screaming skulls like Terrorize or Gloom, you can reimagine the fluffy clouds of darkness as whatever you like. And for Midnight Grasp, punching a hole into some parallel reality to let eldritch beings reach in with their tentacles can be as magic or religion free as you like. Remember: "Any sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic." and also: "Any sufficiently researched magic is indistinguishable from science!"
  21. I have skipped Liquid Nitrogen on the past two Arsenal Control characters I've made. On my Arsenal/ Arsenal Dominator, I went with Cupid's Crush in Buckshot, Ragnarok in Sleep Grenade, and Coercive Persuasion in Smoke Cannister. I'm mostly building for recharge because it's a Dominator, but the knockdown/back on Ragnarok doesn't seem to interfere with the sleep effects, and because I've pushed +recharge so hard in my build, Sleep Grenade and Smoke Canister are almost always the 1-2 opening salvo on a group. I haven't had too much issue with Buckshot's knockback. Cryo Freeze Ray protects a held target from knockback, and since the gas clouds persist, either I'm knocking mobs back into the cloud after they charge me, or they wander back in on their own. Or I chuck them into walls etc. And on the Arsenal/ Arsenal Dominator, I haven't proc bombed any power. Oh, and if you decide you like Arsenal Control, you should make an Arsenal/ Marine Controller at some point.
  22. Seems like you already are, but you should definitely make and play one! I put Coercive Persuasion in Smoke Canister, and Cupid's Crush in Buckshot, so I get plenty of confusion stacked up. I also took Buttstroke and Elbow Strike. After firing off a salvo of Sleep Grenade+Smoke Canister and (Tear Gas if it's up), I'll Cryo Freeze a boss or other problematic target and then get close to plant a Trip Mine, Buttstroke any survivors, and if there is still an enemy staggering around, I'll give them the ol' Elbow. The knockback on Elbow Strike is hilarious, and the 1-2 combo of Buttstroke+Elbow Strike is satisfyingly violent.
  23. PBAoE?!! Back in the dumpster diving heyday, Tankers could hit that stack with Energy Transfer and kill all the wolves and themselves!! Then you would get one of the mids to rez you and you're off to the races again!
  24. It's Mind Control/ Pain Domination/ Mace Mastery
  25. One cool thing to do with Telekinesis is to hop backwards as soon as you finish casting it. Instead of pushing the target away, it will yank them back with you. As the target moves, it will gather up others like a magnet. It's finicky and hard to control, but it's also funny. Sometimes you'll get the mobs caught on an object and the TK will freak out, causing some or all of the targets to Violently zig-zag up and down at an angle until you use Lift or the toggle ends. I have tons of fun with my Mind controller and since I'm in a Discord channel with my teammates, it's easy enough to announce when I'm going to do what.
