  1. First of all Thank you for hosting the wiki! I think I visit every day whenever I'm daydreaming about a build. I noticed that the HCWiki looks different today: font, font size, placement of the search window, etc. Forgive my ignorance, but is there a way for me to change the font size that I see the wiki with? It's kind of big, like maybe optimized for a phone? For sneakily browsing at work on a desktop, it's a little too easy to read over the shoulder πŸ™‚ Thanks again!
  2. I put Domination on auto and bind Hasten to the ` (tilde) key so that it's easily within reach. I still like to build for permadom without needing Hasten, but having as much overlap as possible helps to protect against slows. Also, not all power set combinations allow for the best IO set combinations to get +recharge for perma Domination, and so folks take Hasten for that too.

    Swamp Thing?

If you select a tan-ish brown primary color, and a darker brown or olive drab-ish secondary color, you might be able to convince yourself that it's rapidly grown wood or bark.
  4. Hey all, We all know that Carrion Creepers are awesome with damage procs. But just for funsies, has anyone slotted "Superior Dominating Grasp: Recharge/Chance for Fiery Orb" in them, and if so what happened?
  5. In my runs through the Night Ward content, I found that Tab Targeting found every enemy no matter how much it blended in. You just have to look around every dusty corner and down every hedge row maze corridor.
  6. Begin here: https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/Incarnate_System And that will help you ask more directed questions πŸ™‚
  7. It should be fine, especially with No-Redraw Claws. You use Particle Shielding in between groups, Radiation Therapy and Ground Zero are more like PBAoE attacks that you squeeze into the attack chain once you're elbow deep in the enemy. As an added bonus, because of how Ground Zero works, if you team regularly, you'll end up with the "Empath" badge, which is my favorite badge to wear on a Tanker πŸ™‚

  9. And heck, once you've done all of that, flashback your way through Praetoria πŸ™‚
  10. "Once per the lifetime of the henchman summoned" This.
  11. Take a look through the forums and send messages to the folks who think like you do. Monos King, Oedipus Tex, Galaxy Brain all have expressed feelings somewhere in line with what yours. Y'all should pick a shard and team up.
  12. Also, if you really want a specific salvage, check out the auction house. You can type /ah from almost anywhere to open the window.
  13. "Perfectly balanced, as all things should be." Heh, sorry couldn't resist 😁 While I think "Is the game too easy" is a different question than "Is the game balanced", there's no need to die on that hill. We have had Cobalt Arachne drop by and let us know that the Devs have built and are testing new ways to provide us with more challenging content without taking anything away from what is currently available. That makes me happy to be patient, and excited to test what makes it to the Beta server.
  14. Then those people should self-identify, and team up to enjoy the game together. I have to be missing some nuance, because this reads to me as: "I don't want to make a powerful character, and I don't want anyone else to make me feel less powerful." I don't think that sweeping, systemic changes are needed to address what appears to be a self-imposed paradigm that prevents the very person who is doing this to themselves from enjoying the game.
  15. Maybe one of the menders in ouroboros could tell you where the timestream needs the most reinforcing (Giving you the weekly story arcs)
  16. I'm sorry you are frustrated, but I think the solution to the above is to make friends (I'd start by reaching out to everyone who liked your post) and run characters with them. The game is big enough for more than one playstyle. Again, I think all of the like minded people in this thread should pick a server and roll new alts together and play the way you guys want. Maybe start a thread and post screenshots of your cool adventures like the Tanker Tuesday folks do and you'll attract more people. I think you just named the Supergroup that you should start: "Au Naturale". A dev team member has let us know that more content is coming, so that's a huge win for everyone! I have to say though, this last part of the post really concerns me. What does "running the show" mean? Why is it important to stop PI Radios? Why is it important to stop farming? In a game that will create a new instance for every character that wants to enter a mission, what does "free up earlier content" mean? Seriously, this game can provide fun experiences for all of the playstyles being mentioned. That's why this is the One True Gameβ„’. The kind of gameplay you want is within your reach, you just have to go make 7 friends and team up with them.
  17. Please correct me if I am reading your post incorrectly, but it seems to me that: 1) It is frustrating that people predominantly do not play the way you want to, 2) Some people "dampen" the game for others. 3) Those people who "dampen" the game for others should be guided away from the others whose game is being dampened. So, for the first point, I'd say that you either need to communicate in this MMO as if you were at a tabletop, and make friends who you can team with in a non-frustrating way, or get in bed with the idea that you want to make the whole population exclusively play your way. For the second point, I guess I need a good definition for "dampen". I guess it's something like the feeling you get when you wind up a long-animating attack and halfway through, your target gets blown up? For the third point, setting aside the issue of wanting to separate players based on playstyle, I think the remedy here is more content that requires a specific amount of godhood, and has cool enough rewards to make them worthwhile.
  18. Well, with all due respect to the amount of work you put in here on the forums, is that something that the whole game should be altered to address? It just feels to me that issues like increased player to player communication would ameliorate or eliminate the "feel" associated with teaming.
  19. I get what you're saying, but isn't all of this something that each Team Leader can control? A character's level shift is displayed when you target them. When advertising for a team, you can say "No level shift, please" or "We will be running with +1 level shift only" or whatever. If someone is "dominating" a team you are on, and it bothers you, what is stopping you from leaving that team? I'm trying to think of times where you have no control over the team makeup whatsoever, and mixed level shifts are likely, and at most I'm thinking Hamidon and the RWZ Mothership raid? Is PUGing so badly unbalanced that we should change how the game works?
  20. Specifically on a Shield character, who shouldn't get hit too many times in a row, Melee Core's +regen means that you are getting back more health in between hits. I use Melee Core on my Shield/Radiation Tanker (I know, Brute forum, apologies!) when I pull on MSR, and it works well. As for backup plan, isn't the Brute's plan always "Smash the enemy before they smash you!" πŸ™‚
  21. It's fine. Right now, I think that the thing that bothers me most in HC is that bug that happens when you invite a team into an instanced MSR, and someone on the team doesn't have the badge, and then that team leader cannot be invited without zoning and/or relogging. That tells me that the whole power/progression/challenge discussion isn't all that important to me. However, I like the "More is More" approach to addressing issues like this, so yes, let's ask for more content and more difficult content. I think that the HC devs are better off working on content (woo hoo Piecemeal!!!) and costume options than anything beyond what their data says is a problematic outlier.
