If you have 100% Slow Resistance, it means you can never be slowed, ever. No -speed, no -recharge. Only freedom.

How do you organize your in-game tabs ?
Spaghetti Betty replied to rprandi's topic in General Discussion
In the main window, I have the top half set to all server-wide chat channels. The bottom half is for more localized channels. NPC and cutscene dialogue is in a closed tab by itself. Combat channels are also tucked away in another tab. The only other thing I have open and visible is a tab that contains System, Reward, Error, and Market messages. -
Pricing of Winter and Hero Packs
Spaghetti Betty replied to Snarky's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Flying is overrated. I'll be here on the ground stompin' in my Air Force 1s at mach speed, never letting the enemy dictate how fast I click my powers. -

Pricing of Winter and Hero Packs
Spaghetti Betty replied to Snarky's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
That much of a price cut seems a little extreme. I think 10 mil is fine for H/V packs. You can sell 1 crafted purple and be able to afford 1 pack. Then if you want, you could turn around and sell everything in that pack for potentially 1.5x what you bought it for. Lady Luck be kind. If anything, I could see Winter packs being decreased by 5 mil. 20 mil seems like a better number to me. And you have to keep in mind that the enhancements coming out of these bad boys are designed to ascend your toon to new heights (massive +DEF bonuses, Slow Resistance, etc.) rather than enhance core gameplay. For that I think it's ok that they're harder to come by. -
Sorry you've had bad experiences teaming with random Tanks. I can only speak for myself and I assure you that when I'm Tanking I always have the team's best interests in mind. But if they don't follow me? Well, I tried.
-
This is exactly the reason why I really only join PUGs on a Tank. I don't have to worry about what the team is doing if I never needed them in the first place.
-
Just wanted to shout and say that I've been considering this for quite a few of my Tanks now thanks to your constant preaching. Now my Ice Tank is nigh unkillable.

Officially Unofficial Weekly Discussion #10: Alt-itis
Spaghetti Betty replied to SeraphimKensai's topic in General Discussion
Ah yes, altitis. The bane of my existence. I have somewhere around 120 toons. Maybe 25 of those are 50. Even fewer of those have a comfortable amount of incarnates slotted. And at least 20 of those 120 are parked lvl 1s. What can I say? When I'm struck with a toon idea, I just make it. Maybe I'll get around to playing them one day. I couldn't tell you what exactly draws me to play one all the way to 50. Sometimes they just hit. The gameplay is fun, or I like looking at the toon as I play. As a special note, my "graveyard levels" tend to be 30-35. I think it might be because there's not much to do around then. -
My Axe/EnA Brute is easily one of the most fun toons on my roster. Between Axe Cyclone and Fold Space, I haven't played something with this much herding power in years. Oh, you need the entire room over here? Piece o' cake.
-
I can only talk the about the Tanks on my roster, but these are my toughest: Rad/SS - This has been my go-to Tank for Hard Mode ITFs. Hard-capped RES to most damage-types, great absorption, solid heal. Contributes a lot to team damage as it's completely proc'd out. SR/Dark - I haven't had the opportunity to run this through Hard Mode yet, but in all other content, this toon just straight up ignores damage. It's HP just never moves, ever. I had to design AE content specifically to kill this Tank. 65% positional DEF and it's RES numbers aren't too shabby either. Bio/Katana - This was my first truly unstoppable Tank. It's softcapped to E/NEG/F/C and can hit softcap to Melee. Regen numbers are insane. The Absorption barrier is just icing. I didn't realize how strong this toon was until I accidentally found myself tanking 5 +4 AVs during an AE mish.

For the damage connoisseur: A squeaky clean Tanky Tank:
-
I run this combo on a proc'd out Scrapper. It hits like a dump truck made out of ICBMs. I'll see if I can't adapt it to a Tank version later.
-
Well, I do have to say my clones are pretty attractive.
-
I think I've done Seed of Hamidon probably once. I needed it for the badges, so I looked up a guide and solo'd it on a Staff/SR scrapper. It's more annoying than it is challenging. Pitiful amount of merits, too.
-
Don't forget about Epic Pools. Ice Mastery has Hoarfrost and Hibernate. On my Ill/Sav I ended up taking the entire pool because every power is useful. Just an idea that could open up your options.
-
Yes! Go mix it up with your Decoys. They are meant to aid in your DPS, not do the DPS for you. Drop PA in the middle of a mob, let the mob react to them, hit Gleam, and get in there.

Dark/Plant - The Strangest Toon I've Ever Played
Spaghetti Betty replied to Spaghetti Betty's topic in Blaster
Thanks. I appreciate the compliment. Honestly, the new look was about 80% of the reason why I wanted to revisit the toon. I feel the same way about Absorb toggles on Blasters, too. In the past, /Temporal having an absorb toggle was what held back my Nrg/Temp. On the other hand, my AR/TA can recover from taking a glancing hit very quickly, but /TA is a great example in how not all secondaries are made equal. Life Drain was an unfortunate skip for my build. It was a tough choice. It's a very strong move, but a myriad of reasons made me opt to not take it: slot economy, overall direction, and I opted to grab double Tentacles instead for extra AoE burst. I didn't feel like my ST was struggling without it thanks to proc'd out Strangler. If I was running any other secondary, Life Drain would be a no-brainer. Yes, Umbral Torrent is a strange but very good power. I wonder which intern gave it double the range of Energy Torrent. It is also the single thing that leads to most of my deaths, since, like you said, it's really good at sniping mobs on the other side of the room. Ice/Plant definitely seems like the better version of this. I'd probably even recommend that over this, but Dark/Plant is still pretty fun. I'm a sucker for stand-out playstyles. I'll see if I can't work in some of your ideas into my build, but as it stands I'm really digging my "Glass Shadow". -
I will say there's definitely a major difference in the set's performance once you're able to build some recharge bonus into your toon. My Illu/Sav has perma Dom and Perma PA. Gleam is also a fantastic power once you can get it's recharge to a reasonable level and inside Domination it's duration is more than serviceable. I dumped Spectral Terror but IMO it feels like it's there to get you through the early levels. Definitely give it a second opinion at 50.

No, seriously, it is. I was delving deep into powersets trying to find something unlike anything I usually gravitate towards. Well, I got what I asked for. For those unfamiliar with the 2 sets, Dark Blast is a peculiar cookie. It lacks in damage, but makes up for it with some very interesting utility. You get a hold, a life drain, an immob cone, and a huge (absurd, really) KB cone. Plant Manipulation also brings some unorthodox tools for a Blaster secondary. Not one, but two holds - one being an aoe, a debuff anchor, and a Fiery Embrace-esque Build Up. When you slap these 2 together, you get a very perplexing pool of powers. I was definitely boggled for about 30 or so levels trying to figure out how to make this thing drive smoothly. When I say Dark Blast lacks in damage, I mean it really lacks in damage. The melee attacks from /Plant aren't great either. I was having a lot of problems clearing mobs before they cleared me. I was stumped. I almost shelved the whole thing. Funnily enough, levelling a Dominator made me want to take another look. And so I did. I looked at the combo with a fresh set of eyes. "Ok, so my damage isn't great and my holds are ok, but they can't hold bosses. So, can I fix that?" Oh. Oh yes I can. I can definitely fix that. So, I threw survivability out of the window. My goal became to maximize my damage and make my holds a little holdier. And this is what I came up with... I'm now playing a very fragile Blaster, so it looks like from this point forward, I'm gonna join a team, hang back, and shoot out some cones and holds. And boy, lemme tell you, does this thing cone and hold. In fact, here's some highlights of what this Dark/Plant does very well: 1. Hold Stuff Abyssal Gaze, Strangler, and Vines all have the potential to hold bosses. This is my main ticket to surviving a fight. Much like a soft-Dominator hehe, I'm at the mercy of my mez duration. This factor makes gameplay exhilarating. Oh, also, I can help better Controllers and Dominators hold AVs without breaking my attack chain! 2. Make Lots of Orange Numbers These are the only other things I can see on my screen through the electric cage FX from the hold procs. I'm not out DPSing any other blaster, but I do have a full AoE attack chain. An attack chain that also includes holds. 3. Die Probably the only thing that reminds me I'm playing a Blaster. This thing splats spectacularly. A mean look is enough to have me eating dirt. But that's half the fun! I recently made it to 50 and this one is definitely a keeper for me. The itch for a fun and unique toon has been thoroughly scratched. Feel free to share insight or experience if you have also played this combo.

Yes, under Tops with Skin it's the Yakuza Glow options. The tattoos always glow red. You can only change the color of the vest. -

Thanks. I wish the thorns in /Plant could be colored the same but nope. Had to go with a deep red. I also wish the vines from the toggle were perma, but gotta make do. -

Oh, well that's surprising to know. Oh, well that's surprising to know. "A small loan of a million dollars" In all seriousness, I haven't been paying that much attention to the market lately. I've been able to coast on that huge influx of impatient people that were buying PAPs for billions a few months ago. Thanks! I have noticed that a few LoTGs I put up about a week and a half ago have yet to sell at a price I would deem reasonable. And I wasn't waiting for uncommon salvage to come down from 6k just so I could craft a few Purps. Oh yeah, and those are down too. Hm, maybe a decent analysis could be gained from watching prices on IOs like sleep and stun. Those are usually the go-to trash IOs for converting into gold. I would surmise that a flux in the price of these and salvage aligning with a price drop in everything else means players are inadvertently creating stock for alts that don't exist. Either way, the safe bet is to just blame Yomo.
