This topic has no purpose other than: I feel good and I want people around me to share the good feels. Level 8 tanker, wanted to level fast and I didn't want to solo tonight. I didn't want to wait for some group to magically appear. So I decided to tame the star and make my own. Started a Hollows group, took a while to get started, but it got there after 1-2 missions. I maintained a full group for a solid 2 hours, cleared the Hollows contacts, cleared Lockhart story arc. It was an epic blast, the synergy was there, jokes, puns, one liners AND enemies kept flying. My tank is level 20 now. I love her hard. Can't wait to level her further. What a night. If you see your name there: you rocked my world tonight. Now that convenience allows, I also use my own SG base trainer NPC but I remember early on live, getting your level 50 was such a big deal, we sometimes -walked- back to Ms. Liberty when a SG-mate reached 50. Good times.

Just so we're clear: IOs onthe market do not exist at a levelled state. Here is a short explanation. Fictionnal situation: -There is currently no LOTG DEFENSE IO at the maket and no bids entered (Ludicrous, I know). -I put my Level 32 LOTG DEFENSE IO up for sale for 2M. -Someone else puts a level 43 LOTG DEFENSE IO up for sale for 3M. -There are now two "level independant" LOTG DEFENSE IOs for sale. (You can buy one (or both) at any level you wish as long as it's within that IO's level range, or even attuned.) -You decide that you want one Level 50 LOTG DEFENSE IO, you put your bid for 2.2M Inf, which is sufficient to buy at my price. -You obtain one Level 50 LOTG DEFENSE IO. -There is now one "level independant" LOTG DEFENSE IOs for sale.

I am not knowledgeable enough to give a valid, mathematical opinion on this issue but this lack of expertise allows me to appreciate both sides of the fence and I can say that both camps make interesting and valid claims. If this was to prompt any change, I'd be curious to see what happens. However, I do have something else to add. I don't know if going about the mix-and-match idea would break the game or not, but I do wish there were more interesting hybrid options among IO sets. I mean, if I play a Ice Controller, I will most likely slot Slow or Hold sets here and there because they're arguably worth it, but when I play my Ice tank, I wish I had options to slot something between a damage set or a slow set for my powers. I know that the next large update brings the new Ice Mistral's Tormen which is exactly that so, I hope to see more of those come by in the future.

I have ideas. So many ideas. Then I try to make concepts with them. Then I roll, and I play. Then I break. My break point is generally around level 26-28 when I need to branch into power pools and take the character build seriously. I generally get discouraged and just start something new. To this day, I have 3-4 characters that (with the help of some really nice people here) have risen passed that hurdle but still, as of today, even if I have played hundreds and hundreds of hours since Homecoming started... ... I have yet to reach level 50. Well, I had a farmer which was PLed to 50 but that doesn't count and she's been gathering dust forever. ... ... Oh we're talking about unusual ways of playing? Ok. Ok. While there's undeniable truth in this, I would still like to underline that it depends on context. I generally try to explain everything but when my 7 years old asks me something that can only be answered with "No, because I said so", then that's that. This place however, is a forum in which people are looking for discussion. I feel that going with just "No" is a lack of consideration. It's just an opinion of course, and I can 100% assure you that if I ever put something on the suggestion forum and you answer "No" and nothing more, not only will I not bother you for further details, I will certainly not lose any sleep over it. I like to explain everything. Some people don't. Such is life.

The e-Mail system works fine but it is a strange workaround for a simple problem. The "all my characters are in my SG" however, though very functionnal, is not desired. Sure, I love that ALL my alts are able to use my super cool base and all it`s QoL and storage. But what if I wanted to be in a SG for what a SG is supposed to be: be with other people? Well. Therefore: I agree with the OP's suggestion. Account wide shared wallet/assets = joy.

That's a straight line to one of my favorite mantras ever: Never argue with a fool, they will only bring you down to their own level and beat you with experience. It serves absolutely no purpose to argue with a troll or with someone who just wants to pick an e-fight, and this is something we MASSIVELY witness in these days of internet misonformation and youtube-doctorates. There people have their own rules that defy reason and logic. Think about it: you're in a schoolyard, playing ball against a kid who changes the rules every 5 seconds. How can you win? You can't. Last december I bought about... errr I can't remember. 150 packs maybe? Anyways, I opened them all, planned to sell the IOs, never did, they're all in my storage now. 150 packs. I thought I was a big shot. Then I see your numbers. Little shot.

Yeah I meant Greater Ice sword and I don't particularly like the animation (actually it looks kinda dumb) but I liked the power because it felt more powerful, maybe it's because I use it so late in my build. I can easily respec it out in favor of regular ice sword which animates a full second faster. Arcane bolt has two advantages: double damage when it procs, and it's ranged. And as you said, I could probably spec it out too. Respecs are cheap so I really don't mind trying things. For endurance management with this Tank, it's all about Energy Absorption. You want this power fast and often, otherwise yes, you are always out of blue. Thanks for the answer/advice, as always. Edit: Very hard to do a build without Permafrost. It doesn't add much alone but it's the only power besides Tough that allows me to slot Res sets. I will try a build with ice Sword and Frozen fists instead of Arcane bolt. The numbers are better, everything is slightly faster. I considered Mu Mastery instead of Energy Mastery so I'd get more AoE but I'm starved for slots and unslotted AoEs are useless. Though I play CoH a lot I'm a very slow player, I always want to try another combo and I spend lots of time being an ebil marketer so, levelling projects are slow. Still, this nice little project here has been keeping me completely enthralled lately. First off, this is not even a tanker. Ice/Ice doesn't fit the bill. It's actually a hard hitting controller in a very sturdy armor. And I freakin love it! She's 40 now. I wouldn't be surprised if she was my first real 50. (I have a farmer, which I never use, those don't count) Here is the build I am currently using. You guys were right: Hover beats CJ any day. The Frost cone while hovering = pure love. Now, she has two panic buttons (or WILL have two when I hit 50) and I think it's overkill. I very rarely use Rune of Protection, Hibernation? I dunno. When things go south for an Ice tank, things generally happen very fast and regenerating for 15 seconds doesn't sound like a super useful tool to me. I'm tempted by Focused accuracy but I have no more slots for it. Decisions, decisions. Yes, I know, I took Greater Sword Circle. I just like the power. I also question the validity of slots in Frozen Fists. I'm not much of an attack chain person and Arcane Bolt is up so very often. Maybe I just don't understand the character. @Onlyasandwich Arcane bolt is pure love. It hits so hard it's crazy, especially when it procs, which is all the damn time. It fits conceptually with the character and wow, BAM. Love it. @Sovera I never did split the Tanker ATO in two. I never found a way to do it that would advantage me. The 6% S/L resist is nice too. Still, if you have a few seconds, I would be very happy if you looked at my build and suggested. Fun project! Can't wait to level her some more and get to incarnates!

Very much alive, new expansions still coming. It's not massively populated but most people who play are dedicated. I have rarely seen such an intense level of roleplay and commitment in a MMO. Seeing 25-30 players in band formation, all dressed up, playing their instruments is something rather spectacular. I don't really RP much there though. I tend to find LOTR roleplay too serious. I just explore and read the story. It is a HUGE game.

Exactly. This game manages to give some to everyone: casuals, fans, hardcores, min-maxers, math crunchers. It`s all doable.
