This. Rain of Fire would need a nerf to damage to offset the change. I prefer the higher damage, and if I need the slow I'd just use ice blast, or, pair with a set that offers aoe slow. Or, you know, team with people.

No one plays hardmodes because they suck
Jiro Ito replied to TheSpiritFox's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Gotta disagree; hardmodes are awesome. We run them all the time. I always lead on a tank/corr/def. We've brought along masterminds, kelds, blasters, whatevers. I'm sorry you've had a bad experience, but your comments don't line up with my experiences. -
In my experience, the worst powers to give AE enemies are the -speed debuffs; stuff out of cold, kin, etc. Nothing will make your players angrier than sapping their movement and recharge speeds.

I posted this once.

This just happened to me for the first time ever at about 15%. Is there something I can do to work around? I'll be bummed if I have to resort to only using existing mobs for everything.

Need help: can we set the order of mission objectives?
Jiro Ito replied to Jiro Ito's topic in Mission Architect
Right now it's: Required - defeat boss Required - collection Optional - boss Optional - boss Optional - boss Optional - destructible objects Optional - patrol 1 Optional - patrol 2 Optional - boss Optional - collection items -
I finally have some time off work and am trying to get this story completed that I've been working on for what seems like forever. The missions have just 1 or 2 primary objectives, but then I have a bunch of lore-related optional stuff thrown in for fun. I want the required objectives to be the first things on the list, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. The order I have the objectives in the design window doesn't seem to affect how they display in the nav bar. Any ideas?

I'd Really Like Radiation Control for Doms and Controllers
Jiro Ito replied to Sagenius's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Seems like adding that ability to the pet might be overpowered, or would result in reducing his resists or damage to maintain balance. This is all for fun though, so, sure why not? Yeah I considered Carcinogens as a name for something in there, but didn't want to be insensitive. -
Maybe it's a consequence of not properly setting expectations up front, or not communicating those expectations effectively?

There is a Super Awaken inspiration available from Luna in Ouro that revives without the stun component.

I'd Really Like Radiation Control for Doms and Controllers
Jiro Ito replied to Sagenius's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I love theorycrafting! Radiation Control for Controllers and Dominators: Electron Shackles: ranged, single target, immobilize, minor DoT (energy), additional damage if ingested Radionuclides Mutate: ranged, single target, hold, minor DoT (energy), additional damage if ingested Radionuclides Radionuclides: ranged, targeted AoE, immobilize, -speed, minor DoT (energy), Special Radiation Poisoning: ranged, targeted AoE, sleep, -defense if ingested Radionuclides Radioactive: Toggle, PBAoE, minor energy DoT, -speed, -defense if ingested Radionuclides Low Yield: PBAoE, knockback, stun, minor energy DoT, -defense if ingested Radionuclides Nuclear Winter: ranged, targeted AoE, hold, -defense if ingested Radionuclides Nuclear Flash: ranged, targeted AoE, blind, energy/fire DoT, additional damage if ingested Radionuclides Nuclear Disaster: single pet, high damage resists and regen, does radioactive melee energy/smashing damage. More of a tanky pet like Earth Control's. Looks like a hydra with radiation armor. -
"PVP-lite" ha ha what a funny and accurate description, I love that. Anyway, no thank you to nerfing all of the ally buffs in the game just so we can use them on ourselves, that sounds terrible. All-corrupter and all-defender teams are the most powerful setups in the game.

This is such a smart use of the fail mechanic! I'm totally going to steal this idea!

I feel it's too far down the road to implement SG prestige, items and badges like this. It would require a complete paradigm shift on how the game is played for many people, as most I know have a personal base as a vault, plus all of the bases people build for the creative experience, or teleporter hubs, etc. When the game was pay-to-play, the prestige grind made sense as the game needed people to keep subscribing. I am not in favor of adding more "grind" badges at all. If you want to have SG prestige just for the number, without tying it to badges or items, sure why not. I would much prefer having new base decorative items tied to in-game achievements, like a new poster or base item for completing TFs, SFs, etc (ie new Arachnos recruitment poster for completing LRSF).

If you wanted new powers what would it be?
Jiro Ito replied to darcstarmerc's topic in General Discussion
Also Blood of the Black Stream shapeshifting EAT. -
Heroes are largely reactive in going about their business, so going to contacts and getting work makes sense. Print and screen villains, however, are proactive in their business. They're the ones coming up with the plots, executing them, and largely getting foiled by heroes reacting to them. This is difficult to realize in a video game though. Most of what we're doing in CoV is helping other villains realize their plots, rather than furthering our own. It would be difficult to do this as the game is designed, but the newer arcs like Dr Graves are a step in the right direction. For the most part though, we're the lackeys working for the real villains. Mercy Island is also a nightmare to get around, especially compared to Atlas Park.

I always thought it would be cool to have a shapeshift power into the Longbow Chaser or Sky Raiders Chaser thing, with a different set of powers (like a khel form shifting into squid mode), or a Malta or Council robot.
-
Or, give us something else to purchase with incarnate salvage? For once we've crafted all the incarnate powers we mean to on a particular character, but continue to play that character, the incarnate salvage we continue to get just piles up. Adding in consumable or temporary items like super inspirations and the P2W buffs would be great, as well as being a salvage-sink.

For sure, give me a stone armor/radiation armor tank all day! Seriously though, i think balancing this would be a nightmare, ie, if you have this snipe you can't take any other snipe, if you have this rain aoe you can't have any other rain aoe, etc. It'd be a lot of fun to smack an enemy with a fire sword, then an ice sword, then a psy sword, then a sword-sword, then TWO swords, but it sounds like a lot of work and unbalanced. Defender with cold shields and sonic shields and force fields and thermal shields...fun to think about though...

I'd dig a Rikti EAT, with branches for Mentalist/Mesmerist psy control/kinetics/sword melee; Soldier rifle/sword blapper hybrid; Guardian pistol/rad/shield buffer; and Communication Officer mastermind type (complete with monkey pets!). Storyline-wise, you could go down the Restructurist path, a more villainous one started with Ambassador Kuhr-Rekt in Grandville, and a Traditionalist path (heroic) working with Paragon Heroes; all post-invasion plot.
-
Yes it does. It's super handy as a Howling Twilight target to safely rez your squad after a team wipe. For OP, it's kinda funny, trolling the leeches.
-
nah. i've played the game for myself and am enjoying it.

lol clickbait picture of boobs that isn't from the game he's talking about. his opinion is super valid 👍
