New Pv2 Vendor temporary power - Thumbtack Teleporter
Triumphant replied to DrRocket's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I would like to support a more limited version of this: Specifically, when doing radio/paper missions, a power that would allow me to teleport immediately to the detective/broker when bank jobs come up. I don't mind being asked to do the bank jobs, but it's extremely annoying that I can't just call these guys on the radio to tell them yes or no. It makes no sense, either from a mechanical or a logical story persepctive. -
Never been able to get the hang of Dominators. I know they can be good (I've been in teams where they're used to great effectiveness). Something about the play style just doesn't gel with me, for some reason. As for why to play them? I mean, I think you answered your own question: A plant/ma dominator named Broc-Li. I can't think of a better reason to choose an AT. 😁👍

And there are a few enemies that are quite vulnerable to lethal. I'm thinking of Mu mystics, specifically. When fighting them with my energy melee brute, which basically wrecks everything it hits, the Mu Mystics soak a lot of that damage like a tank. But if I use my savage melee or Stj brute, I can shred them like tissue paper. Every set has strengths and weaknesses, advantages and drawbacks. Sometimes a set (even a ranged or melee set) is less about raw damage than damage + various buffs/debuffs/soft controls or whatever. But like Luminar suggests, if playing solo, try to avoid fighting enemies particularly resistant to your attack type. In a group, you've got teamates to buff you and/or plug that vulnerability, so it isn't a big deal.

Totally agree. I have a ton of sub-par theme builds. It's fun to RP themand fun to try to get them competent enough to run in PUGs. When you can come up with something that is at least survivable in +4/8 group play, there's a weird satisfaction in that.. 😁👍

All I know, is I want Ninja Nun with a Shotgun as an actual comic book. And maybe we could get an Axe Cop crossover. I'm here for it. 😁👍

You know the question... Just as I did
Triumphant replied to smnolimits41's topic in General Discussion
Sentinels are actually pretty good now, since the buffs they recieved a few issues back. Also, a lot of fun to play, IMO. Granted, such things are subjective. I do think something like a DP/MA blaster might better model the matrix movies, though. Or maybe a DP/Time Defender. Not sure. 🤔 -
New Titles for our Typically-Atypical Playerbase
Triumphant replied to WhiteNightingale's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I vote yes to all of these but, hey- I love titles. 😁🤷♂️ -
Wanting to rename a super group
Triumphant replied to Flintlock Burnfur's topic in Base Construction
I've often wished for this, as well- though for different reasons. I don't know if it is possible without the Devs going into the game to reset something. In your particular case, there's certainly a valid reason for needing to do so, so maybe they can help you out with that. Or maybe it's not possible. I have no actual idea how it works, tbh. 🤷♂️ -
The giant 5th column walkers in Imperious TF have open hatches where you can see the cockpit. So these, at least, are piloted vehicles like a kind of dieselpunk mecha. I always felt like the malta bots and council mekmen were fully automated. Not sure why- they just give me that vibe. Especially the mekmen, which feel like classic evil robot minions. Nemesis are clearly organic as you can see the shapes of the dudes floating inside (well, the War Hulks, at least). Not as sure about those little quad brass guys with the pop-out flame throwers.

I love it on a Brute. My Savage/Super Reflexes is one of my favorite characters. 👍

So sorry for your loss. Sounds like a wonderful person who made a great impression on those who knew her.

Nothing. Gloom is for vampires and goth girls. Werewoofs are pure, unbridled rage. You made the right choice. 😄👍

New Mastermind Power idea (Clones)
Triumphant replied to TransFemmeHero's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
So, you would be like multiple-man or dupli-kate. Cool. A version of mastermind I might actually play. I vote yes. 👍 -
But like... it's supposed to be a popular nightclub, man.... 🤷♂️

Ah, so you made a na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na... BATMAN!!! personalized theme song for all your buddies characters. Sweet!

I like knockback, but I concede that I'm probably among a minority of players with this view (no evidence to this effect, it just feels that way to me). Having said that, I do like Bionic Flea's suggestion as a way of addressing the issue. Folks that like it could get both incarnates and switch between them for group and solo play, at the request of players who are annoyed by it.

StJ/SR is a much beloved combo that I play on both brutes and scrappers, so I can certainly recommend this combination. I auto-fire mez protect power and manually fire hasten, which isn't a big deal to me but, as Lockpick noted, it's quite annoying to many players, so ymmv. I must agree with Lockpick though, you are going to want fighting pool to hit defense softcaps, so I can't recommend skipping that one either (regardless of your powerset choices). I know people hate paying the crosspunch/kick tax, but it's more than worth sacrificing one power to get access to the toughness and maneuvers, trust me. And crosspunch gives you another decent AOE in your stable of attacks (situationally useful, but still).

New Null the Gull Setting: Minimal Fx Buffs
Triumphant replied to RadiantPhoenix's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
No idea if it's a thing that could be done, but I'm totally here for it! Those giant ice blocks are some of the goofiest looking effects in the game. Hate it when I have to look at them on my character. -
OMG! That's perfect. I can totally envision that scenario! 🤣

I like beam rifle. It looks and sounds just like what I would expect a beam rifle to look and sound like. Also, it's highly effective. Having said that, there are probably plenty of people that share your veiwpoint. Neither of us are wrong. Both of us are right, because that is our actual experience in using the powerset. I have a similar dislike (well, my reasons for disliking it are different than your reasons for disliking beam rifle, but still) for bio armor. Bio armor is widely (and correctly) touted as being a great armor set. But I don't like the look of it (though that is much improved with minimal effect settings) and I find it even more fiddly and clicky to use than rad armor, which is sort of at the outside limits of what I can handle with an armor set (though I'm levelling a regen armor character now, and trying to overcome this deficiency, because I really love the idea of the set). Point is, it's totally okay for people to hate the things I like or vise-versa. This game has a little something for all tastes. Keep trying AT's and powersets, eventually you're bound to find something that's perfect (or near perfect) for you play style and preferences (probably, you have your favorties already. Some of these might be sets that are not thought of as being more popular power sets. I know that I love Street Justice with a passion that is proportionately disparate from it's actual level of combat performance, for example. But the reason I love it is not because it's the highest DPS combat set, but because the look and feel of the animations perfectly emulate the thing that it is trying to emulate. Any and all of the above is okay, of course. This game caters to all comic-booky tastes. That's part of what's so great about it. 😎

What is the coolest enemy in the game?
Triumphant replied to Billbailey96's topic in General Discussion
My favorite is Arachnos in terms of both visual appeal and as challenging foes throughout the levelling process. After that, probably IDF. -
This is actually interesting to me: Not so much as a challenge, but because I never considered trying to build a character and ignoring most of the attacks from your main powerset. It could be an interesting, challenging, and (who knows?) even fun way to approach the game by trying to make a viable character that relies more on pool powers and epics. LOL. Okay, I see what you did there. 🤭 What are you, some kind of sadist? 😝

Least favorite mob in game: vent session
Triumphant replied to graeberguinn's topic in General Discussion
I think the ones that I find most irritating are the illusionists and master illusionists. You have to hit them before they phase out or else wait until they phase back in to dmg them. Also, they're summoning those stupid, irritating phantom dudes that are basically unhittable and also (hatefully) stick around well after you've killed the illusionist. Extremely annoying. Those are probably my most hated enemy so far as mobs are concerned. -
I am no build expert, by any means, but I do play a lot of Brutes (among my favorite AT's). Brutes can get very good resistance, but you aren't going to get as high as a Tank. Being the immovable object is the Tanks signature feature. But Brutes can be quite tough, yes. My own EM/INV brute looks like this before activating T4 Barrier: Smashing/Lethal: 90% Fire/Cold: 69.87% energy/negative energy: 53.37% Psionic: 31.72% Toxic: 37.62% When I fire my T4, this shoots up to 90% in everything for a few seconds, before gradually falling to just about 10% above the usual resistance values, until the power triggers again (I have it set to auto-fire) after the 2 minutes expire. I imagine there are others (hyperstrike among them- sorry to hear they are feeling unwell these days, btw) who can do a much better job of building than I do, but the point is you can make a Brute easily tough enough to run a PUG (or even solo, for the most part) +4/8 content.
