  1. I play many tankers, and generally enjoy the role in this game. I continue to make them and level them. Never been a huge fan of Brutes myself. I find them harder to level, more expensive to get their endurance issues under control, and require a frantic play style that isn't my personal preference. A tanker remains the best character for eating alpha strikes and pulling trouble from other players. My issue and worries about tanker obsolescence come from certain kinds of content. Dark Astoria. Night Ward. The new Praetorians. That sort of thing. There is just so much debuff flying around there that this content becomes solo only and team unfriendly. Facing a New Dark Astoria mission full of kinetic Tsoo minions is barely tolerable solo. But if it's your role to absorb alpha strikes and deflect as many attacks as possible off your teammates and onto yourself, an 8 player team spawn of these varmints makes the game unplayable. Absorb the alpha, and you may as well go AFK and wait to die. It isn't like you'll be able to do anything else. And there's a whole lot of other late-added content that has similar problems. I get the notion that towards the end the Paragon devs thought that tankers were obsolete or undesirable, and deliberately created content where they would bring nothing to teams and not be able to fulfill the role they were originally intended for. Whether the Homecoming devs have ambitions to revise this dreck and turn it into something more team friendly and fun, I cannot guess.
  2. I went with Cimerorans for Heraclea mostly for thematic reasons. If I collect enough threads I will probably also make Knives or Talons of Vengeance as well.
  3. Got it. Thanks!
  4. Citadel's task force always strikes me as having the most ridiculous examples of this. First, to IP, then to Talos, then to IP, then to Talos, et cetera.....
  5. Traffic - Dear Mr. Fantasy Seriously, what is the secret here?
  6. There is also Sister Airlia, who is IIRC for villains only. (Daedalus is heroes only.) Neither of their missions have much to do with Cimerora; I remember Arachnos and Malta being heavily featured, so they may not be worth the bother. I do spend a fair amount of time killing Romans on the walls by the door to the ITF final mission. This used to be a sweet spot for recipe drops; not sure it is any more, but it is a good test of level 50 survivability and tactics. Marcus Valerius is basically the zone equivalent of radio missions. Like Borea in RWZ, his are all timed. He is good for solo grinding between 35 and 50, but there is no story there either. You wonder how he gets reception on his cell phone. Avoid anything that mentions 'dark crystals' or 'shadow cysts'; those are the old time squidkiller cysts that generate vast numbers of nictus mobs.
  7. Reasonably well outside of certain content. The problem with resistance isn't the incoming damage. It's the debuffs that are attached to it. This is multiplied by your role as attracting incoming damage onto yourself and away from teammates. You can laugh off Cimerorans; their -def isn't going to hurt you much. But anything with -recharge is going to be a problem; your Healing Flames won't be there when you need it. Note also that Healing Flames gives you Toxic resistance as well; it stacks with itself and you can get up to 60%. When I was running Vahzilok missions I'd set it to autofire.
  8. Alien Sex Fiend - Ignore the Machine What is the code that inserts the video?
  9. I could not edit and eventually pulled my Latin language AE adventure Ecloga Prima because the Latin word cum ('with, when') was not allowed. On a private server there really isn't any reason to have any of this on.
  10. Electric is also a possibility. On my double electric blaster I made the electricity pink. It does resemble the Arachnos Mu villains.
  11. One inexpensive - though it will cost you a respec - and practical way to add some toughness to your build would be to respec into Air Superiority, Fire Melee doesn't have much control going for it. Air Superiority will keep one mob bouncing and off your tail. You might try to get more mileage out of your Char, or move to another epic like Earth that will do more for you other than add more fire damage.
  12. FWIW you can avoid that by using the Minimal FX on Bio Armor. That won't get rid of them entirely, Ablative Armor will briefly cover you with something that looks like the ash from a glow-worm firework, and most of the armors will make you look like Pig Pen. But you can get rid of the costume additions.
  13. I wuld prefer Shield for two reasons that have nothing to do with your proposed builds. Reflexes apparently has a weak taunt aura like Willpower does. This requires you to take a much more active role, and makes it easier for teammates to attract mobs away. Shield remedies the chief weakness of Dark Melee, which is slow AoE powers you will prefer to slot for things other than pure damage. You get Shield Charge, a good AoE opener that is pure damage. And of course you get a full strength taunt aura.
  14. I probably have spent less than 20 million in inf on Heraclea (Inv/DM), and she has one set of Superior Might of the Tanker, is working on the other ATO, two sets of Kinetic Combat, and various other IO sets. She is softcapped at resistance to S/L, has defense in the 40-ish level to most everything but Psi, and I am generally satisfied with her performance. It helps a lot that I run a lot of TFs and buy recipes with merits specifically to avoid the AH. I also stockpile yellow and orange salvage and share it among all my characters through bases, again to avoid the AH. Incarnate stuff is the other path to buffing your level 50 character, and inf pays a minor role there. Mostly it's about grinding out the threads and shards, and every character has to run this grind for herself.
  15. Castle looks glorious.
  16. Note also that it is possible to craft multiple incarnate powers and swap them in and out of the slots as you like. Slotting a different one does not make the one you had disappear.
  17. I really enjoy my Water/WP sentinel. She is the conceptual heir of my Spines/WP scrapper from 2012. Like her, she frankenslots a Pacing of the Turtle proc in everything that will take it, so that everything that takes a tick of damage from Whirlpool or anything else is hit with a further chance for -recharge, and of course now that she has incarnate stuff this can be improved further.
  18. I find ranged rather dull myself, but my recommendation would be double electric blaster. Stealth in, drain their endurance, zap any survivors. Most of her bread and butter powers are PBAoEs.
  19. Others have reported a katana display bug. This may be related.
