I opened a ticket in-game about this last weekend, but then didn't check my email again until this weekend. So the ticket was closed because I failed to respond to their question. Issue: Storm Palace is not awarding credit towards Dimensional Explorer/Plunderer. Reponse to ticket: Are you just stuck at the halfway point? No, Storm Palace is not progressing the bar at all. (Confirmed further down this thread, this zone is bugged!) I found four toons with NO PROGRESS toward Dimensional Warder and logged off one in each purple zone. I took screen shots before I logged them out yesterday, and then left them logged out until today, and took new screen shots. As you can see, when I started NONE of the toons had Shadow Shard Day Job progress. When I logged them in today, the toons in FBZ, Chantry, and Cascade each had the progress bar pop up, but NOT the toon in the Storm Palace. Cascade Archipeligo:

City's Lack of Bots (of the script kind)
kwsapphire replied to kwsapphire's topic in General Discussion
They'd still have to run back and forth to the contact and trainers though, right? They'd presumably have been obvious with their default generic costume and a name of random characters, crowding around each other as they all interact with the same contact. The only time we saw generic heroes was when someone had rolled a copywrited character. 😉 -

How does that affect botters, if I may ask? Does that fall under "code made botting difficult" because it's hard for scripts to interact with doors? -
City's Lack of Bots (of the script kind)
kwsapphire replied to kwsapphire's topic in General Discussion
I remember them, but I assumed they were real people, not bots. I also remember people advertizing to PL toons using some mission in PI, not sure which one though. I always laughed and wondered who would pay inf to be PLed. 😄 (Edit) Laughed because I couldn't afford their astronomical prices. I remember how hard the XP slog was. 😉 Got it, thank you. 🙂 So I can't point to CoH and say "See! THEY didn't have a botters problem, surely you guys can figure this out!" Because that isn't really fair. That's what I was hoping to find out. -
I have always wondered, why did City of Heroes never suffer from the Bots problem? In this case I mean Real-Money-Transaction (RMT) sellers running a a script to level up a character or farm for resources. Is it because... 1. City of Heroes never had a large enough player base to attract botters? 2. City of Heroes code made/makes botting impossible? 3. The box price and monthly subscription fee made botting unrewarding? 4. Farming resources is relatively easy enough for players that there's no market for RMT? In my experience, even games that have monthly subscription fees have bots (Neverwinter, WoW, FFXIV) I'm so curious because it seems to me, if companies really wanted to get rid of botters, surely they could, right? They pretend to combat the botters just enough to make the rest of the community think they're trying to do something, all while happily accepting botters' sub fees and market purchases. Why is this an issue we never had to deal with in this game?

The down-side, as I see it, is that AoE attacks will hit (and possibly kill) civilians whether you want to or not. While that's more realistic, that's not usually how this game works. So any villains who don't want to murder innocents would suddenly have to be very careful about using AoEs out and about. 😕

Thanks, I wondered why my 2 year old gaming rig can't support Windows 11. MSFT wants me to download and install a piece of software to tell me what criteria my computer isn't meeting. HAHA yeah right no thanks. I have to assume this TPM thing is the issue. I'm honestly surprised the upgrade is free, but I'm in no hurry. My husband and I have both been seeing increased lag (rubberbanding and/or temporary reduced frame rate) for at least a week.

Outstanding, thank you so much!! This is perfect! -
I've not personally done the math, but I've been told that two people on the map (assuming you're sharing rewards) leads to more overall rewards. That is, if you have two accounts, or you and a friend share all resources, it's better to have 2 people on the map. The benefits diminish at 3 people and up though. Irrelevant if you're PLing a stranger obviously, but good to know if you're in a position to take advantage of it. (Allow me to reiterate that I'm just repeating what I've been told & don't have any way to support this idea. :P) My husband and I have 3 accounts between us. The third account is just a farmer, and we sometimes have all three of us on the map (as farmers). Not so much for the extra drops, but for help blocking intersections or clearing the map. 🙂

There is an "Incarnate" in the windownames list, but it doesn't scale the incarnate window. You can click and drag to scale the window itself, but I have yet to find a way to scale the contents of the window. 😕

Doh, that's what I meant. Not sure how I swapped the two. 🙂

Unfortunately it's Alpha Barrier that I can't stand. I can't even get far enough into the powerset to get Radiation Therapy.

Unfortunately you can. Aaron Walker wasn't dropped into my active contacts window when he should have been, so I ended up doing Calvin Scott's missions thinking I was supposed to. He was my only active contact & I didnt want to do the Crusader storyline on that toon. Up until the part where (spoilers happen), and got sent to a level 14 mission in a level 19 hostile underground resistance zone. That's when a friend of mine told me about the bug. So I did use the contact finder to get Aaron Walker and do his missions, and those of several contacts afterward, but couldn't do (spoiler)'s arc because (spoilers) had already happened, making the contact disappear.

Using Dark Radiation and black makes reddish-black zoomies. Using Bright Radiation and white gives you white zoomies. Reversing the Bright/Dark and black/white doesn't help, you still have zoomies. Which drive me absolutely nuts given their permanent presence. I spent all of two minutes with the toggle on before deleting the character and rerolling. By zoomies, I mean the little motes of light that zoom around you like a swarm of angry hornets. I have a visceral reaction to it that I can hardly describe, aside to say that I cannot stand it.

For what it's worth, I soloed a Mastermind to 20 in Praetoria, and am doing it again. The only reason the first MM left Praetoria is because I stumbled over the Warden's wrong-contact-order bug and was really miffed at having had her experience messed up like that. Barring any similar bugs in the Responsibility arc, I'd like to see how long I can keep the second MM in praetoria, and soloing. Yes it's on the harder side, I have to be careful, and missions take more time. But that's the experience I want with those toons. That said, I totally understand game burnout. I've found it helps to go play other games that my brain is interested in, and eventually it'll come back around to wanting this one again. 😉

In my experience, nobody but farmers should be in the fray during a farm. Anyone else is likely to get killed. That said, here are the (unbuffed) numbers for Kin vs Rad: Siphon Power = +50% Damage Speed Boost = +50% Recovery & Recharge Transfusion = up to +150% Damage? Accelerate Metabolsim = +25% Damage, +30% Recovery Given that A) Increased damage is likely the primary bonus they're looking for, and B) all of Kin's buff percentages are higher than Rad it seems clear that Kin is the better buffer for a farmer. But again, I don't advise a Kin or a Rad get close enough to combat to use their buffs in a fire farm. 😉

ITF Team Teleport Bug - Badge Suggestion

The command to load the regular bind file is /bindload. 🙂 Your keybinds.txt file must be in the Homecoming/settings/live folder. This is also where your chat, window, and option files are saved. /bindsave /optionsave /chatsave /wdwsave and /bindload /optionload /chatload /wdwload You can create separate bind files and use the /bindloadfile command, but it doesn't look like quotes are required: From the wiki: /bindloadfile c:\binds\bind_file.txt A message will be displayed in the chat tabs confirming that the file has been loaded.

Something less intrusive would be amazing, thank you! I may only find the original sound so annoying because there are SO MANY sounds overlapping each other - there's train tracks sound, the buzzing sound, the wibbly wobbly sound, plus two or three more layered in I think? My goodness, it's just too much. ;D Thank you so much for taking a stab at it! -
I am not TOTALLY sure how the conversion system works, but I am guessing this is due to a conversion. That is, the auction house will convert certain items into other similar items to fill players' bids. Might also be typos from people making bids. "Oops extra zero!" and all that?

I can still see Firestorm's costume though! 😄

There is no space between numpad and the number, so numpad1, numpad2, and numpad3 are the correct terms. I would also use 0:10 as the location instead of self, so they summon 10 feet in front of you, instead of on top of you. /bind numpad1 powexeclocation 0:10 Zombie Horde/bind numpad2 powexeclocation 0:10 Grave Knight/bind numpad3 powexeclocation 0:10 Lich Edit: Note that underscores are never required, and are only to make things easier to read for us humans. /powexeclocation is the same as /p_o_w_e_x_e_c_l_o_c_a_t_i_o_n ... so I never use underscores in my macros and binds.

I visit this page so often it's the top suggestion when I start typing hcwiki, despite the home page also being bookmarked. 😄

Solarverse's SFX Consolidated List of Mods

Is this the right place to make a request for a sound? I have silenced the Portal in Portal Corp. I wouldn't mind the sound if it faded out after a couple seconds, but I can't stand having to listen to it on loop when, for whatever reason, I have to wait by the portal for my team or something. Would love to instead have a less annoying sound instead of silence, but silence is better than the original. I didn't see any such specific environmental effects in the list, just power sets and zone music. Did I miss it? Or does anyone have such an .ogg I could use? Just.. something that can be a portal sound but isn't so annoying as the default one. 🙂 I also had to silence the Peacebringer hum from flight. Again, I would't mind if it faded out after a few seconds, but I'm literally almost always flying, and I can't stand to hear it *all* the time. Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask. And thanks in advance for your help! -
There are some games I *only* like to play on "god mode," including Baldur's Gate, Civilzation, and Don't Starve, because generally I'm going for a different sort of challenge. In Baldur's Gate I set all my stats to 25 and give myself custom made overpowered gear, and use my companions as loot mules while I explore the world and role play without fear of death. In Civlization I build a custom map where I have all the resources, and I give myself loads of gold, so whenever another civlization makes demands of me I can just pay them in gold or resources (instead of tech) and not only beat them to the end of the tech tree, but also absorb all their cities with my amazingly high culture score, and have all my opponents showering me with kisses when I win. I know for a fact I would NOT find such a god mode fun in City. I do enjoy just playing the game, but I know I find it more fulfilling when I have stuff to chase (badges, accolades, incarnate powers. etc.) My husband, on the other hand, doesn't like playing characters until they're level 50 and fully slotted. He then goes on to keep tweaking the build and get his incarnate powers, and he doesn't mind exemplaring down, but he doesn't want to have to "play" up to 50. He's also perfectly happy here on Homecoming, and while he thought the "We Have Cake" server was a neat idea, he's certainly not leaving HC for it. 😉
