We cant have all 3? MarketCrash sure does.

The BIG problem with this (not the idea) is how different PvP actually is to normal pve. Unless you have tried it, and spent a bit of time in a pvp zone..the differences would come as a huge shock to a lot of players. Not to mention teams with fully tricked out PvP centric builds..that would just utterly wipe the floor with any pve team out there. The difference in damage, defence, accuracy, resists, travel supp (dont have ss and sj for pvp mayhems? you are gonna pie, a lot), mez duration, heal supression..the list goes on. I think many people would try it once, see how different it is, and just say Screw It, even IF the pvp mayhems were really well designed.

Let's not..I like seeing it zap the idiots who always manage to AFK during the pylon phase, and just happen to return right when the shields drop.

Wretch Task Force Levels 10-15, as Villains have only a single TF in the low range, while heroes get Posix2, Synapse, and CoT. SO here is my idea. It's quite long, but would fill a redside gap, and every other patron minion (cuda, mantis, icey) have SF's already. Plus, it brings the snakes in, cool legacy, and CoT. ANd Zoira and MirrorSpirit are awesome. Upon defeating X Snakes (50? Or maybe Mongooses’ arc), a special Tip is given out. Investigating it reveals.. Mission 1 Upon entering the Arachnos Base (2 floor base, NO stupid layer cake room), you are strike by how empty and quite it seems, until a tortured scream cuts through the silence. Out of the shadows, a Night Widow appears (npc pops up), her elaborate helmet marking her out as one of Ghost Widow’s elite guard. ‘Greetings Destined One (ones?). I am Night Widow Koehler (some rl lady who hunts snakes, as you do) and I have been watching your progress closely. Now feel the time is right to bring you before the one below that who we Widows serve. No doubt you just heard him yourself. Continue into this facility and speak, or at least try to speak, with him. Remember, show respect and be not aggressive, if you value your life.’ She vanishes, and you continue into the base, which is now full of snakes, attacking the playing, as yet more screams fill the air. Fighting through (maybe 2-3 floors, some Arachnos guards fighting with the snakes) you find Wretch, ‘captive’ of a big mob (unlike EVERY other npc capture, an eb, guarded by 1 boss, which is dumb, he will commence fighting as you enter, and DESTROY them). Approach The Wretch, carefully. He looks at you, trying to focus, panting heavily, eyes red and full of pain and rage. ‘Me Wretch! You..lil destined..things! See Wretch fight snakes! Wretch HATE snakes! (He bellows louder and continues) You help Wretch? (he looks a bit confused and pleading).” Dialogue choices. You can act suitable (sensibly cowed) and agree to help OR Call him out on being a stupid, crazy ugly hulk of a man, after which Wretch will turn hostile and Attack! Defeating him calms him down, and he begs for your help (‘it hurts! Please stop hurt Wretch! HELP Wretch now!), the Night Widow appearing again, offering a clue. “I see your meeting went well/bad. Wretch may be..unpredictable, but our Lady relies on his strength and power. If he is angry at the threat of the snakes, real or otherwise, his vigil may be lax. I have looked into the issue myself, and Mongoose reports large numbers of the reptiles are abroad in Mercy Island. Go see him and follow any directions.’ Mission 2 Visit Mongoose, with Snake ambushes along the way. Then a big one (including a boss/eb) AT Mongoose. He helps fight them (same way as trainers fight rikti etc). ‘Gee, thanks Destined Ones! Usually I can take snakes no problems, but those were way bigger than most around Mercy! Anyway, now we can track em back to their hole. Let’s go!’ Mission 3 Travel to Snake Cave in Mercy. Mongoose as boss ally inside, Ar/Poison powers. Simple cave map, full of Snakes. Boss Snake is fighting a Legacy Chain boss, both turn hostile. Mission text comes up on exit. ‘Good job Destined Ones. You might just make it outta Mercy Alive after all! I am still worried about those Snakes, that boss had some powers I aint ever seem em use before (maybe mind control stuff?). And why was Legacy there? I don’t trust those fanatics. Get over and check out a Legacy run warehouse, while I head up the Food Chain and talk to Grillo about these snakes.’ Mission 4 Legacy Office mission. 2-3 floors, glowies contain Info about possible snake holes in the area, research of Doctor Jones, a Legacy Tellus. Defeat Tellus Jones. Upon exit, Wretch and Widow Whatsherface appear. Talking to Wretch gives ‘Wretch angry! Leg a cee men and hunting snakes too! Wretch want to kill them, and snakes!’ Night Widow says ‘Greetings Task Force Viper/Rattler/Cobra/Sidewinder. I have spoken to Mongoose, and his consultations with Grillo have yielded results. Grillo thinks the snakes are an evolving form of the normal reptiles that haunt Mercy, and that the Legacy Chain are trying to discover the cause, in order to prevent similar outbreaks in Paragon City. Not to mention, checking any links between the sudden evolution and possible mystic manipulations. I have received word from my Sisters that a Large group of Legacy are mounting as assault on a Circle of Thorns library, looking for invocation. Head over there and steal any books you find, and suitable chastise both parties for trying to operate with Arachnos Sanction. A flyer is waiting to take you to Nerva.’ Mission 5 Travel to Mercy Black Line. Transports to outdoor Cot map (same as stf mission 3). 3 CoT elite bosses to steal keys from, Legacy ambush as you aggro each one. Unlocks door to CoT cave, CoT/Legacy fighting in tunnels. Ends in Pillar Zoom, Baron Zoria (arch villain) fighting Mirror Spirit. Defeat both to finish. Zoria ‘Curse you, puppets of the Spider! The Circle WILL find out about the serpents of mercy, and bend them to our will!’ MirrorS ‘You are pawns, and know it not. The Legacy will triumph, and evil will scuttle back to the shadows!’ Call from Mongoose as you exit. ‘Hey snake hunters! I just got word from Night Widow Whatsherface. Apparently her and Grillo got together and figured out where the snakes are coming from! Let’s head over there and meet them !’ Mission 6 Snake Cave, the one with the Egg chamber (not the one in Grillo’s Arc). Mongoose, Wretch and the Widow are there. Can talk to them all. Wretch: ‘Wretch fight! Wretch win! Don’t get in my way!’ This occurs if you did NOT fight him earlier, giving you the option now to tell him to let you lead, making him angry, so you get to beat him up. He then gets up and helps. “Wretch stay behind small people, Wretch listen.’ This if you DID fight him the first time. He will follow the team. Mongoose: “Here we go! What do you reckon, want some extra firepower? Or how about something to make these things squirm?’ Choice of Shotgun or Toxic Grenade temp powers. Night Widow: ‘Well here we are! Time to put these creatures down. Rest assured, my Lady will hear about this, so perform at your best.’ Final fight has a Snake AV, who will cast an Infinite Mag Confuse (no idea HOW) on your allies, making them attack you. They are all archvillian class. As well, ambushes of Snake bosses will show up. Defeating the eggs around the room make the ambushes stop. Once all your allies have been defeated (knocked out), focus on the Big Snake. She has psi control, toxic aoe, poison powers and dual blades attacks. All allies will have a damage DEBUFF until they get confused, in order to stop them simply wiping the entire map with no challenge. Rewards. Merits and Snake Skin (+minor def, movement speed) or Snake Venom (+minor toxic damage to attacks) and the Why'd it have to be snakes badge. Roll credits!

Well maybe? As soon as I read The Mask comment, I thought of a giant toon hammer right away.

I HATE the MM version. Every time, and I mean every time, I used it on a Minion, that minion literally would get ganked in under 5 seconds, in spite of the so called 'great debuffs.' The fact it scales depending on the pet cast on, makes it even worse. Casting it on say..an Oni or Assault Bot? That is basically never gonna get near melee. Maybe if it was usable on a team mate instead. As well as a Splash poison heal, I'd like to see the same for O2 boost..makes sense it could be a cloud (aoe) of air.

Redid the event to get my badge, and one person who joined, did so from a different zone (we were all in PD, and she joined in PI), and her team was locked on reaching PD. But she could not unlock it. She quit, we started (the league leader was a bit clueless) and I reinvited her from inside the event. Her team was NOT locked, neither of the other teams were full, but I kept getting an error when I tried to move her to another team, or anyone else to her team! Needless to say..no badge for her. I know that is true, but it is also utterly stupid (that it happens, not you talking about it). With GMs, and indeed with LW event, you DO get the rewards, even if on a solo team. SO really..you could just attack once and afk, which really defeats the entire reason for having a minimum contribution level. On the LW trail, I was attacking and doing stuff the entire time, get teh rewards..but it still cant work out I was helping enough for teh badge? What rubbish.
-
As much as I like the idea (some stuff from the Mask would be super awesome to see)..I just don't think the aesthetic (as I am picturing it, at least) would fit into the game. Everything else as 'realistic' looking super powers, then suddenly giant cartoon hammers and stuff? It would stand out and clash.
-
From the Winter LFG Event. The event seems to like splitting up a league, so people get thrown on teams by themselves. This happened to me, and I didn't even realise. Then we complete the event, I got the merits and candy, but NO badge. Other people on solo teams didnt get it either.
-
I do understand that but...I do that with my kin corr, and stuff STILL attacks right away, despite having literally zero end. Obviously I am not debuffing recovery, and so I am not expecting mobs to be unable to attack forever..but right away, following a 100% drain? They should have literally no end pool to activate any powers, maybe besides brawl.

The new Posi (s) and Penny do it right. Especially Penny, all one zone and the same doors (although I guess you could say that makes it a bit too samey..but most things get that way). Manti is also pretty awful, and uses an 'outthere' zone (CF) that new players have no clue how to get to! Synapse is just an utter piece of shite..even though it is mostly in one zone, but then they throw that random BT mission (usually WAY way up the map). Numi is also boring, and the normal missions in that cover multiple zones (ff, cf, bricks, atlas, pp)..even before getting to those stupid hunts. And then of course Woody just happens to be a skip away from Numi anyhow! With Cit, they could use some of the maps from Hess, to add variety, even 'just' a normal warehouse! I found some link the other day, to the Dev notes from Sutter/Morty Kal, when they were added into teh game on Live. I think it was Protean, saying that one major thing they were aiming for was to have them doable in about 30-60 mins. Which IS possible for Cit/MantiNumi, (really pushing it, especially on a PUG)..but very unlikely on Syn.

A Possible "Guardian AT" Solution
Razor Cure replied to Steampunkette's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Giving melees access to PhyPer/Sup Con at such an early level would be totally awesome for sets without end recovery powers, and just about everyone else too. Too good in fact. -
Just curious as to what Inexhaustible actually is doing. The power info says it has slow and end drain resist (in the text), but my combat atts only shows the slow res. The detailed info also shows a 69% resistance to endurance on self. Or is it just end drain resist, and not recovery debuffs? In which case, having a section for End Debuffs in combat atts would be handy!

Storm Kick not giving defense bonus
Razor Cure replied to WindDemon21's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I reread the OP again..and he wants to know why a big part of MA on brutes/tanks is NOT on teh scrapper version. You are the one who made teh utterly unrelated comment about MA being 'fine' because a super team of MA scrappers can win the internets. ANd because you have a good build. Please..point out HOW that relates to Storm Kick having/not having the +def? And then Helen said the +def does not matter..because his secondary is def. Again..how is THAT related to +def in storm kick? You know..what the OP is asking about. Please, continue that trend. -
Storm Kick not giving defense bonus
Razor Cure replied to WindDemon21's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Ohh. So it is all good for brutes and tanks..but scrappers (who are less survivable in general) dont need it..because..you CAN pick a secondary that is defence based? Again, this makes no sense. None. What if he wants to make a MA/FA scrapper instead? Suddenly the set should have that +def power, just because his secondary cant cover it? Shall we go ahead and remove +def from parry, DA, and the TW power, just on the offchance someone might pair them with a defence secondary? -
Storm Kick not giving defense bonus
Razor Cure replied to WindDemon21's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
That..is just silly. So the power for scrappers does not need the +def buff..because one guys choice of secondary can cover it? Is that your argument? -
Storm Kick not giving defense bonus
Razor Cure replied to WindDemon21's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
A super team of any power set is hardly a measurement of how the set is by itself. Also, 53% def? Again..zero at ALL to do with MA. -
I agree, an option would be great. As for the old dev comments about stuff happening behind the scenes...this seems like an excuse, or at very least a silly reason. Sure, in BAF, if you fly up really fast, right after the cutscene you can see mobs 'drop' in. So technically stuff IS happening. But..why? Why cant the map just be full on loading? Not like it even needs to be full, since only 40 kills are needed to advance the mission! STF, the aoen cutscene, same thing. Why cant those mobs be already there on loading? The Recluse cutscene does not add a damn thing to the map.

Just skimming this..I dont KNOW why every AT needs to fit into this magical class set up. CoX is not DandD or anything else. The classes are distinct and also blur enough to allow multiple play styles. They all 'work' (with varying degrees of awesome) for their Jobs, and I enjoy every single AT..besides Tanks. But that is just me. I think, if someone can have a great time on every AT but ONE, the devs did a lot right.
-
This would be a totally new AT, with an attack set couple with a defence secondary, based on the DE mob types in game. A LOT of the praetorian and incarnate story follows Hamidon and the DE, and they basically overrun Prae Earth. And are clearly gonna come here next. Looking into the existing Lore, specifically that of Pyriss, a poor hero who was given up to the DE and devoured, but still has some degree of autonomy. Going by this, I think it is totally feasible that a super powered person, particular with Incarnate powers, somehow wins back control on their body and mind, albeit having to exist is a reshaped state. Once you go Tree you never go back. Or whatever. The AT on a whole would sorta play like a Sentinal (attack/def) but with more controlling and team buff powers too, and some evolution mechanics, with the Attack set being influence by Evolution, in the secondary. Using the DE creatures and their animations would (maybe) make the set up and animations easier. Feasibility: 7 (a lot of teh models and animations are already there) Niche: 5 (we already have sentinels and khleds) Interest: 7 (could be super fun, but not much need to make multiple ones) Primary. Each attack has a changing damage type and effect based on Evolution. Changes from smashing/toxic/stun, lethal/toxic/slow, energy/toxic/to hit debuff. Fire/toxic/small –res. Devouring Earth Tier 1 - Sting Moderate damage ranged attack. Tier 2 – Assault. High damage ranged attack. Tier 3 – Barrage. Moderate damage cone. Wide arc, medium range. Tier 4 – Morphing Strike. High damage melee. Changes from smashing/toxic/stun, lethal/toxic/slow, energy/toxic/to hit debuff. Fire/toxic/small -res Tier 5 – Commune. +Regen/to hit/damage, extra toxic damage. Tier 6 – Devour. Superior ranged, foe hold/stun Tier 7 – Spore Cloud. Aoe Mez Tier 8 – Hamidon’s Fury. Extreme damage ST melee. Tier 9 – Devestation. Superior damage PBAoe. Devoured Earth Tier 1 – Evolution. Must have. Lets you toggle between Thorn, Boulder and Quartz forms, each influencing the attacks. Thorn is lethal/tox slow (think spine/thorn attacks), Boulder is smashing/tox/stuns (thing earth melee/assault) and Quartz is energy/toxi/to hit buff (think quartz attacks). The animations would change, with the aoe mez before like spore burst/staligitites or Flash, same for the single target mez (stone prison, will dom, blind). Tier 2 – Earth’s Embrace. Auto. +hp, regen, recovery, resist regen, slow (almost max) +resist to all. Tier 3 – Shield of Hamidom. Toggle. +Resist/Def, resist slow. Tier 4 – One with the Hamidon. Toggle. Mez protection, all but Fear and repel. +regen, resist - regen, -to hit. Tier 5 – Emination. Place a DE emitter on the ground. Quarry gives a Cairn (+resist, minor hp), Thorn gives Tree of Life (+regen, recovery), Quartz gives +acc/def. Tier 6 – Blessing of the Hamidon. Click. Self Heal. Extra effect based on Evolution. Quarry gets +hp, Thorn gets +regen and recovery (living tree) and Quartz gets +def and acc. Tier 7 – Devouring. Aoe debuff, -res, -regen, -to hit. Tier 8 – Undying Earth. Self Rez. Can also be used as a Click based Heal, for 70%, giving a large +res/def bonus and regen. Tier 9 – Hamidon’s Avatar. Become one with the Hamidon. +resist, regen, damage, periodic aoe heal pulse.

I do like the idea of an Aoe Beastly howl! Another thing Savage is missing!

I am sure I mentioned this is another thread too. I am all for seeing recipes in the AH. If CoX was some economic fishbowl sim, where the idea was to make oodles of money and dive into it like Scrooge, then yeah, let people charge millions for stuff. As the OP said, the Live AH was a to let people get stuff, but with the greater population base, it was so much easier. More recipes listed, more found etc etc. To me, if the entire thought process behind 'to list a recipe or not' boils down to how much VIRTUAL currency I can flog from people..that is pretty terrible. Granted, some people love playing the market (but again, cox isnt an economic sandbox), same as some people farm constantly just to dance in their cash. That shouldn't mean the people who play less (or who dont want to farm) should have less opportunity to get recipes they want.

Good point regarding the 6th power in the newer pools. I didn't include extra ones because..well..I am lazy, couldnt think of any, and I am not sure every pool NEEDS a special travel inbuilt. Your swimming idea sounds neat, but there really is not enough water related combat areas. As a super fast swimming travel, it would really onl;y be good in IP (ew, who goes there?) or Nerva..and very very other areas. Likewise, def while swimming would only help when running by Lusca! As for a Pirate set..well, I was just being silly, in regard to the old pirates vs ninjas thing! 🙂 But yes, bring it on!
-
We have a few with some decent ranged stuff now, Sorcery and FoW, but still just the one for melee. And the attacks in fighting really aren’t great, and very..generic in style. A punch, that is hit. What about for people who wanna be a troller with a back up sword! So these will be more attack focused, with a travel that people and some kinda Self Buff. Just came up with these super fast. Mostly the idea would be to get slottable Beast/Ninja runs..which I have seen a few threads ask for. And of course ninja attacks, cause everyone loves ninjas (besides Pirates...new idea..Pirate Melee!). Also some savage type attacks would be cool for many melees (they'd totally work on a dark vampire type) and the pounce relates to teh combat teleport thread that was going about, and would be fun (but look 100% less stupid as Spring Attack). Way of the Warrior. Tier 1: Kenjutsu. Minor lethal, -def, -dam, +self to hit Tier2: Tsuke (the thrust). Moderate lethal +Dot melee, high knockdown chance. Tier 3: Ninja Run. Exactly like the p2w power, but slottable, usable with combat jumping/hover. Tier4: Intonjutsu (escape and concealment). AoE placate and –to hit, minor stun, self stealth. Tier5: Seishinteki kyōyō (spiritual refinement). Long Rech self buff, +hold/sleep/stun prot. Psi def and res. +rech and speed Form of the Beast. Tier 1: Claw Slash. Minor lethal, -speed, +speed to self. Tier2: Swipe. Moderate lethal damage, knockdown chance Tier 3: Beast Run. Exactly like the p2w power, but slottable, usable with combat jumping/hover. Tier4: Pounce. Self teleport, short range, longish rech, smashing damage, chance for kb (why does savage leap NOT have this too?) Tier5: Animal Instinct. Long rech self buff. +res, regen, to hit. Adds lethal Dot to attacks, minor health regain on hit.

Powerset Scheme Suggestion: Reaper Scythe (Battle Axe)
Razor Cure replied to Leogunner's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Really cool set! But I am saaaaaaaaaaad there is no Whirling Scythe type aoe!
