  1. You asked for it:
  2. Them's fightin' words! The farmers and the cowmen should be friends!
  3. fixed that for ya!
  4. Sorry to repeat the clip, but I get so excited with market posts. This demonstrates clearly my contention that in the kinder, gentler AH, there is absolutely nothing that is priced out of reach for a reasonable amount of effort. Two additional observations: 1. The experiments I've run indicate that a kill-all paper mission at 50, be it -1/1 or 4/8, will net you 1-2mm inf if you vendor everything (including IO recipes and rare salvage). 2. Everything you listed can be (and is!) created for even less than the selling prices (except that 6,666 bug).
  5. I'm sorry; that sucks. I didn't sell it. Check out the link in my sig for an easy way to get 20mm back, no strings attached. It's a drop in the bucket against your unfortunate accident, but it's a start!
  6. I organically play all my alts, mostly at double xp, but some I go old school. My 50s are mostly melee, and by the time my melee characters hit 50, they are generally already capable of playing at max difficulty. That doesn't mean that I run them there, but I'll generally try a few missions just to make sure they can. So I'll generally get them alpha slotted and then they mostly sit unless I have a project for them. A few are partially T4ed. I'd like to get more of my non-melees to 50, but I don't really like ranged combat nearly as much. I suspect that I will find that incarnating them will lead to a bigger jump in performance. For my sub-50s, I really like making new alts and playing them up until the mid 20s. By 26, I've gotten to the primary T8, and I probably have a really good feel as to how I like to play the character. And at double xp, it really doesn't take that long. Keep in mind, I slot expensively and aggressively and up my difficulty so the xp comes a-flying! I tend to lose steam with a project in the mid to upper 30s. At 35 I join Vanguard, go to Cimerora, and get patron pools unlocked. By then I'm usually around 37, and I need some impetus to push through into the 40s and beyond.
  7. I've gotten purples as low as level 46 when playing +3 content, which could have been either lvl 49 or lvl 50 mobs. I'm going to *guess* that you need to defeat an enemy that is at least lvl 50.
  8. Not technically necessary perhaps, but I can't stand to look at five round IOs and one hexagonal one. So I attune everything.
  9. We have a winner. Who's coming in second?
  10. Dead on. If you are joining someone else's TF, ask them if they would consider lowering it if it's too much for you. If you are running a TF, ask your teammates what they would prefer.
  11. I do wonder how feasible it would be for the devs to set up a "permanent" test server that would enable you and others to play with no market but full access to whatever items you wanted without the fear that your characters will get eventually deleted? That could serve as a test case, and players could vote with their feet.
  12. I have begun to sell off some of my WOs. I figure a 8-10mm profit is sufficient.
  13. This goes for buying things as well -- if you overpay for something, thinking that you are subsidizing some unknown Tiny Tim, that inf is probably going in a cowman's coffers. The casual buyer and seller may not have the will or desire to spend a lot of time thinking about pricing strategies. And that's all well and good, because I've been sinking all my inf into developing an automatic mustache twirling machine. It's simply too much effort for me to do it myself while I laugh maniacally.
  14. You're not calling me out on anything. I said that, not to defend that IOs are interlopers, but to point out that people fear change and that it's a silly justification. If you've been keeping score, you'd see I think that IOs are the bomb and that anyone who doesn't use them is choosing to play chess with just pawns.
  15. Because they weren't in the original game. There often is a non-obsolescence issue with things. For decades, nothing in the telecommunications industry could work unless it was backwards fitted to work on twisted copper telephone lines. When I used to work on that kind of thing, the rationale was that you could never make something a new standard unless "all the dumb old people can still use it too." That was a direct quote from my MD. I don't know if that is still an industry standard, but I seriously doubt it. Windows stops support for old systems, but I'm not sure about telecom.
  16. My opinions and expectations: 1. Yes, and they all can. 2. Yes, and they all can. It depends on your personal tolerance for annoyance or speed or OMG ZERG. Not all can solo all or some AVs; not all can solo GMs; none can solo Hamidon buglessly. 3. I personally don't see a big difference between lvl 49 content and lvl 50 content, but the only difference for me is whether or not IOs are catalyzed, or if I have purples installed, or if I'm incarnated. 4. I think they make a huge difference, but I'm not going to use the word "should". 5. Yes with respect to teams. Maybe with respect to other players since indirectly they are affecting the player-run economy if they are able (for example) farm three times more efficiently. Dunno about intention.
  17. I realize that this wasn't the purpose of this post, but am I the only one who takes tremendous pleasure in blowing up the subs in the Faultline arcs in non-traditional fashion?
  18. For the same reason people have fought since the dawn of time: Someone is wrong on the internet.
  19. IMO, tanker ATOs are much more geared towards survival than brute ATOs, which to me means easier to hard or soft cap resistance or defense and use those extra slots or powers elsewhere.
  20. I still think this is going to get lost in the shuffle, but I'm going to say yes and no. Yes, insofar as more options are generally better than fewer options. Controllers and dominators got the short end of the stick, since slotting for control hasn't been in vogue since the Charleston was sweeping the nation. I think it would be nice if every AT got two sets that offered a recharge bonus, and one that did not. I also think it would be nice if every AT got at least one decent bonus at 2 or 3 slots to justify splitting a set. No, insofar as ATO sets are already ridiculously overpowered for the price and adding more would probably result in more power creep and more FOTM min max builds. If I had my way, *all* packs would go to 25mm a pop, leaving merit prices alone. If one actually plays content rather than rush to 50 and then slot, you can see how powerful they are in comparison to the alternatives. Good to great set bonuses, and slottable at level 10, and you never need to upgrade or replace them until you hit 50 and catalyze them. A levelling set progression for a ST ranged attack might be nothing until 17, then Entropic Chaos, then Decimation, then maybe Thunderstrike or Apocalypse. Or you can slot Blaster's Wrath in your ranged attack. Or unslot them and put them in your PBAoE attack, etc. They are tremendously flexible and have a tremendous advantage over most of their "next best" alternatives. my 2 inf
  21. Quoted for emphasis. Resist debuff is incredibly powerful.
  22. I don't know what any of that means, but you had me at pineapple. I have a unfinished alt on Indomitable named Iced Pineapple, because I wanted to make a Spines/Ice scrapper and that was the best name I could come up with in the short term. One evening, I had an hour long conversation in ten minutes with someone who told me repeatedly and passionately how much they loved my name. Because they really liked really cold pineapple. Win!
  23. There’s a lot of good topics for a few new threads. I started to respond to your question on ATOs but realized it was getting lost in the noise.
  24. Everyone knows that battle cries are used exclusively to say something witty during a cutscene!
