If you read a lot and can afford it, an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite or Kobo Libra 2 is very worth it. It'll pay itself off easily for how much easier it makes reading with aging eyes, and it takes up so much less space.

Amazon Kindle and Kobo e-readers have the ability to invert the screen with an all black background and white text. I use that. It's really nice to have hundreds or even thousands of ebooks on one device that's built specifically for reading, where you control the colors, font size, and even the fonts themselves. I much prefer ebooks to print books these days, especially with my older eyes.

There was a lack of AoE mez protection. Specifically, Tactics and Clarion Destiny. The common advanced modes strategies have gotten players into a bad habit of taking Barrier Destiny and only Barrier Destiny, and the player base overall underrates AoE mez protection. That can create a lethal combination for some Incarnate trials, especially Minds of Mayhem.

The Wards are admittedly a little overtuned, which the Paragon Studios developers admitted to in one of the post-sunset AMAs. That's not a bad thing though, IMO. It creates a nice balance compared to the much easier old blue side content. The first three Praetorian zones aren't over tuned though, they're just not as easy as the earlier low-level zones. The only real difficulty is playing them with a Mastermind, as ambushes ignore your henchmen and target the Mastermind directly. But it can be done.

No thank you. I enjoy playing the Praetorian content at level because it isn't so easy that I can roll my face on my keyboard and still win like blue side. Fix the various bugs gold side? Sure. Smooth out the leveling? Great. Be unable to start characters in Praetoria and play the content at the levels it was designed for? No way. In addition, leveless doesn't really work in City of Heroes as everything has an internal level. Making the Wards leveless would be meaningless as it would be a cakewalk at level 50.

That's not a bug. Those values are for pets and henchmen only. PCs themselves only get half. You're not the first person to get tripped up by that.

What Is The First Thing You Are Going To Do In Issue 27 Page 7?
Lunar Ronin replied to dtjunkie's topic in General Discussion
First thing I'm going to do is change the power tray slots back to numbers, put the recharge timer at the bottom of powers, and re-save my options settings to options.txt. Then I will save the classic keybinds to keybinds.txt so I never have to see the new modern keybinds. The second thing is I will continue leveling my Katana/Bio Brute currently parked in Nova Praetoria, waiting to ding level 10 and get automatically assigned the Praetorian invention tutorial. I could have just continued playing and done the tutorial myself for funsies, but I wanted to wait as I've wanted to see the invention tutorial pop-up be brought back for a while for new and returning players. After that, make an Illusion/Arsenal Dominator. -
Option commands 'WebHide...' — purpose?
Lunar Ronin replied to Shenanigunner's topic in General Discussion
Back in the days of live, either Cryptic Studios, Paragon Studios, or both (forget which), tinkered with the idea of making all characters' information publicly accessible via the world wide web. Much like the old City of Data, but not third party, and not as voluntary. So the idea was that you would be able to hide your character or character's badges, friends, powers, and stats from the cityofheroes.com website by setting those options in-game. It obviously never came to pass, probably for the same reason Cipher's original character viewer idea for Homecoming never came to pass. Too much information, and constantly moving information at that. -
It's the one that Michiyo put up a year and a half ago. -

No, +recharge is wasted on henchmen. That's why Kinetics and Radiation are seen as subpar on Masterminds.

This is just my two cents, but I think changing the default power tray labels and key bindings for a 20 year-old MMORPG is a mistake. I mean, for me, it doesn't matter because the first thing I'm going to do when Page 7 launches is change everything back to the way it was and save it to my options.txt file. As options, they're fine. But for people returning from both live and earlier on Homecoming, changing the way a 20 year-old video game works by default isn't the way to go. It'll just cause confusion. City of Heroes is City of Heroes, not any other video game.

Yeah, those badges were moved to the respective Echo zones five years ago. I'd recommend downloading and installing the VidiotMaps for Homecoming mod, which you can obtain by following - That will let you find exploration badges quickly and easily.
-
Some badges in Faultline and RWZ were moved to Echo: Faultline and Echo: Rikti Crash Site, respectively, back in 2019. That's the most likely culprit. Which exploration badges specifically are you aiming for?
-
Better? No. They just play a bit differently. Some Scrapper secondaries have a threat aura that will negate the stealth for one thing. Secondly, Stalkers can control critical hits while Scrappers cannot. Thirdly, Stalkers will have more single-target damage while Scrappers will have more AoE as a general rule.

No, there was no General chat back on live. It was added around 2020.
-
It's just the way of MMORPGs now. Every online game's open chat is a sewer. SWTOR? Sewer. WoW? Sewer. You just learn to ignore it, preferably by removing the chat channel(s) entirely. Also, you mentioned above of needing to remove General from every character. You don't need to do that. Go to Options > Windows, and at the bottom is an option to save your chat tabs as you have them. Do that. Then you can load it the same way on every character you have, and every character you make in the future will automatically not have General.
