  1. On the topic of powerset proliferation: Invulnerability has always existed for scrappers and tanks. The values have always been identical and adjusted by the AT modifiers. So balanced for one AT or the other never has and never SHOULD matter. The base values SHOULD always be identical and modified by the AT modifiers. Of course, changes made recently have thrown that concept into the trash with how Nrg Melee for scrappers is a nerfed version of what tanks got and stone armor is different for scrap/stalk vs tank/brute. On the topic of pool powers: The caps matter. A resist based armor will benefit more on the SL front from tough than a defense based armor and the reverse is true for Weave. As pool powers ARE an integral part of our builds, they MUST be taken into consideration when balance is the question of the day. Judging a set "naked" is fine as long as all of them are truly naked, but since we are *forced* to take pool powers, testing naked is only a single data point and should be taken as such.
  2. I find both of these to be assumptions until they actually come forth with the datamining they did. It was generally agreed that TW was OP but I don't recall any data being provided showing that the choices they made to bring it in line were based on anything but their own perceptions and game knowledge. I do vaguely remember this as well. And it's a solid way of going about it and we as players have created specific scenarios in AE for just that purpose. But if you balance a set at 25 or 35 you're going to get drastically different results than if you balance it at 50. And again if you do it with SOs vs IOs but that leads back into the "should the game be balanced around IOs" discussion that I'd really rather not get back into.
  3. But we're talking about SR on Scrappers! As with every other armor, give it to a tank and its some crazy OP.
  4. Question is ... can they? And what numbers precisely? Amount of damage taken? What % of it was PLed and thus damage taken will be near zero? Or teamed with an empath? Go off of debt badges? What about badgers and their desire to faceplant often? How will that affect the data? Total time to 50? How does that work? Solo to 50 will be vastly slower than farming 8-man team TFs all the way up. Soloing with SOs to 50 will be vastly different than slapping in IOs as soon as you can. I don't know what the OG devs used as their actual baseline for powerset performance. There's so much in the code that makes absolutely no sense that I was never able to work it out. I don't think they knew nor do I think any of the rest of us do. We can't even really go off of things like least played powersets. Back in the big data dump, sr/claws was at the absolute bottom of tanks played and having one I'm still dumbfounded by that fact. Even the seemingly universally despised regen isn't universally despised. There's several posters here that absolutely love it and swear its performance is on par with the other sets. I absolutely get the desire for hard data but unless we narrow down specifically what we need and why, we're grasping at straws.
  5. Whole actual minutes?!?! ZOMG! Also, yes please.
  6. Yours is better. Even when I looked at mine I couldn't figure out why I didn't take Surveillance.
  7. My soldier is exactly as you describe as shown below, but I'm gonna go with no. It's a choice no different than going with a Human Only Kheldian build. Still an Arachnos Soldier, just one that doesn't want spider legs or a mace.
  8. There is no obfuscation. Scrappers that have taunt auras, as the argument goes, have them because they "rely on the taunt aura to function." Invincibility "needs" to keep enemies close for +defense. Against All Odds "needs" enemies close for the +damage. Entropic Aura "needs" enemies close for the +recharge. etc, etc, etc. And also complete horseshit and YOU know it which is why YOU keep playing the idiot and projecting that onto anyone that doesn't agree. If the scrappers that have the taunt auras now suddenly lost them they'd also get to deal with runners and then wouldn't NEED the extra mitigation now would they? Either remove scrapper taunt auras completely from all scrappers, or give all scrappers taunt auras. Leaving it as is is unfair, unnecessary garbage. So take your tone and your vapid little insults and shove 'em.
  9. Welcome back.
  10. Fire/Ice scrapper with Medicine, Experimentation, Leadership, Leaping and Weapon Mastery.
  11. I'm gonna go with this. It's a game. If you don't want to deal with the random, don't PUG.
  12. Folks that play Warhammer 40k? It's a damn fun combo.
  13. Checking. I might be wrong. Yup, I was wrong. 6 of 14 have taunt auras unless I'm missing something.
  14. Really? CoD says you're quite wrong.
  15. Yes, I know fully well why some scrapper armors lacked a taunt aura back before redside existed. Back before Bio, Shield and Rad armors existed. So I stand by my statement: It's Fucking Irrelevant Now.
  16. Irrelevant now. Don't pretend otherwise.
  17. But it's fine to ADD effects that don't exist at all. Ignoring that some powersets ported didn't have taunt auras so they just got slapped on willy-nilly. Ya know what? Don't give scrappers that lack taunt auras the taunt auras. Fine. Just unass the bullshit recently added that's now causing everything to run away on a whim. One or the other. Fix what was broken recently, or fix what was wrong in the first place. It's bullshit for some scrappers to have a taunt aura while others don't and also blows your whole "unique effects that aren't for your AT" line out of the water.
  18. I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about me. I played Khels from golive until now. Hit 50 on both back before the snap by mostly soloing, most of that back when Khels still had the penalties for being solo. I came back to the game after the Khel updates and respeced both of mine to utilize the changes. Both were tri-form. People play human-only kheldians for the same reason they play any other non-optimized anything. I ran a freakin swipe-only/invul scrapper to 50 for fuck's sake.
  19. OP and I had a long discussion. He watched me faceplant against +4 IDF a couple times and slaughter a bunch of them as well. I wasn't allowed to use incarnate powers and in my defense, BZB scrap is designed for Barrier usage. We discussed the Rad armor scrapper that managed it. We discussed fair testing. There's, of course, common ground in our views. We both see the leveling process as a bit unfair for SR. Thus the need for the power order change. We both agree that the newer sets are OP AF compared to the older sets. We agreed that even giving SR the Master Brawler treatment from Sentinels would be a good thing. I'm sure he'll add his takes on the events later.
  20. Just to make sure, you do know that attacks typed range are still typed range even if you're in melee, right?
  21. I don't know what the hell this means. I'm not allowed weave or CJ or maneuvers? Why are you allowed pool powers if I'm not? I can be on now. Fire up an IDF mission. Just logged on. Damn typos.
  22. Much tougher enemies is arguable since they're only +1 instead of the +3s you face in PI.
