  1. You can trade IOs recipies and converters between accounts. Just have both do trade. Also can't you convert Reward Merits into Hero Merits of some sort. (Not sure if those are account bound though, as as soon as I get any merits they get converted into converters for 'buy cheap set ios on the AH then convert them into more expenisve ones' converter shenanigans).
  2. I would say playing TFs and SFs AND story arcs to get merits specifically. Just doing paper missions to level 50, won't make you much. Not if the OP is looking for the uber builds his intial post seems to indicate. EDIT: Also for the OP: You don't need 1 bil inf to make truly super characters/builds. The most expensive of my numerous IO'd out 50 is around 700-800 mil. With quite a few in the 500-600 mil range. The key is patience when BUYING: put your bid up at the start of a play session and by the next day it's filled at the REASONABLE price you put in.
  3. Yeah I never understood the complaint. And I've seen it more than once on the forums and online. You MUST put at least SOME effort in. Unless you use one of the methods to make money, then expect to stay on SOs. That's just been City of Heroes since IOs came into existence. And as you said you can make enough money doing simple things for just SOs for the entire trip from 1-50. EDIT: As multiple people have said in the market forums and even in THIS thread making just enough to get COMMON IOs that you don't have to upgrade is simple and easy.
  4. That's why I convert things into specific types IOs (Healing -- > Rare Heal Prods, LOTGs or other Defensive IOs, etc) that I know will make money. You do enough time you get to intrinscily know what will make money. I've never failed to be able to IO out a toon with purples, Attuned, etc after 7 days of using converters. And I'm on like my 35th fully IO'd out level 50 since joining HC.
  5. Just a note that you will have to run them on different characters. There is an 18 hour lockout on the same character once that character selects a Hami-O as a reward. If you use the same character within the lockout time window to defeat Hami a second or thrid time, that same character can select 4 Emp merits or Reward merits from the reward table, after they do damage to Hami, after Hami is defeated. EDIT: I try to catch the Hami raids on Everlasting and Excelsior a few times a week when I can on my main crafter. Though I usually choose the Reward Mertis option, convert those to Enhancement Converters, and the play converter roulette on cheap IOs or reciepes I get from the AH. Doing this for a week, usually nets me about 500-700 million inf after 5 days. On very good weeks I can make up to 1 bill within 7 days.
  6. I'd like this too, but realize with ONE animator any and all animation change requests are going to take time.
  7. Take it easy on yourself folks. City of Heros has been around in one form or another for literally YEARS at this point. And we old. Yes, including you who read that last line. We old. Our memories are not what they once were. Live with it. 😛
  8. No thanks. I like it faster. Now I don’t feel like as ass on the times it misses.
  9. Or simply nuke the power in the player’s tray, when in pvp mode. There are so many exploits with this that it simply should not even be activatable when you are in pvp mode.
  10. This would be problematic on a lot of levels. And would open the door to the devs having to potentially keep two code bases. Or more. For example, what if you have some folks that like how a power set was at shutdown, versus how it was in year one of HC being live, versus how it is in 2024? Do they then keep 3 versions? Or go back and have to build it how it was if they (more than likely) no longer have those past versions? Hard NO from me on this as it opens the door to a lot of nonsense that a volunteer dev team should not have to deal with.
  11. Except it's not an accurate example. Villan side was already a ghost town prior to allowing folks to side switch or play villan ATs on heroside.
  12. As a general suggeestion you can always request it. Whether they will do it for this page, since we are no on release candidate, very likely too late for now.
  13. This is to me is not a good take for all the reasons already explained by others. This isn't what City of Heroes has ever been about. lol
  14. Once in a while this shouldn't cause offense, but yeah lately it's been err pretty rough. Ah well, it's a community game and all.
  15. The maps that come with CoT are the reason I will continue to avoid them for all time. I can never guarantee that it won't be an annoying cave when they come up. Remove the linkage to cave maps to them and I'd be less likely to avoid them when leading teams. Other than that, this revamp make no difference to me.
  16. My main issue was the incorrect information it was giving to new p;layers versus what's on the New Character creation screen. I don't really care if it's a badge or aether reward if it's contradictory with the New Player Experience. EDIT: Also I like the idea of giving a rewards also for those who have multiples of the same AT. The archtype duplication badge is nifty.
  17. Right, which was my point. Procs shouldn't even enter the discussion when talking about balance. Balance the power based on what it does and whatever damage formula that's required by COH dev rules, then go from there. Procs should have nothing to do with if a power is good, as we can't assume the player will use procs. Similar to how we cannot assume the player will use IOs. We've been told the main balance point is SOs, unless something has changed . . .
  18. I think one thing that's coming out of this feedback is that many of the ancillary/patron powers are just not worthy of being considered a level 35+ pick when compared to other primary and secondary picks you've been using for many levels prior to access to the "epic" powers. I for one admittedly only take many of them for the set bonuses and places to get Resistance bonuses by using them as mules. Apparently I was not the only one. LOL The patrons especially I often have a hard time justifying them if they are not needed in my build. Surely somtehing the HC team can look at in the future (yes it's too late for this Page). EDIT: And to be fair this is not a knock agains the HC dev team. Paragon SEEMED to have some really ass backwards ideas that the ancillary/patron pools could not be competitive with the primary secondary picks where possible. I vehemently disagreed with that idea and still do.
  19. Agreed. But I'd still prefer the devs be cautious when drastically changing powers that folks already use as a general rule. At the very least they should data mine how many folks have that power and are using it in their build before making drastic changes. This ofcourse does not mean that they can never completely change a power, but those already using it should definetly be taken into account.
  20. It's either use Merits or use the /AH. Or stick with SOs. Or you can simply use the merits to purchase boosters/converters, sell them and then fund you SO build multple times over. That last line is as easy as it gets.
  21. Or simply drop the difficulty if you want to steam roll. At +0 x8 teams will still steam roll. You don't have to play at +4 x8 if your team can't handle it. That's true even now.
  22. I would say the opposite is true. Fix it in the Role Diverstiy screen. A lot is just incorrect in that screen.
  23. EDIT: NVM just read the GM post and i'm good. lol
