Picked up Knockback for my SS/SD Brute.

First of all, I'd like to welcome them to CoH! Second, I'd give them pointers on which Archetypes/powersets to play based on their desire. Third and probably the most important, warn them that creating their costumes could run well into taking hours and have them make their characters prior to getting together to play. That or convince them to all hit 'Random' and enter the game. Happy hunting!

I do this quite often when I have characters with full-body auras, the higher intensity in the weapon and/or eye can be justified as power concentration since brighter usually means hotter. Also, for me personally, I tend to mute full-body auras as I find them distracting and sometimes headache-inducing depending on the colours in use.

Occasionally, they can get stuck in walls/floors, or the marker can be incorrect, it can also be pointing to the spawn point of a patrol. Push come to shove you send in a gm request for help. They can pop enemies out of walls or complete missions, but if it's happening repeatedly, they you might want to also report it. If you've cleared all the floors, look at your map and there should be a red arrow(s) indicating the last mob. Out of curiosity, which mission/contact is this? Edit: Most warehouses are generally a single level, though some will have freight elevators to take you to another level, like the ones in Pocket D and there a few that open freight elevator doors with stacks of boxes that you climb to get to another level.

Could be stairs hidden beyond a door. Can try calling out in the Help channel for someone to come assist. Heck, depending on the server and the level I could log in and help.

☝️ This One of the things I love about this game, the origin of your powers can be whatever you want. Prior to Water Blast being added I had a Fire/Time character who's powers were water-based. Fire Blast takes on water colours surprisingly well.

Why not just do away with the clicking altogether? Should be able to run into the gates and be transported there, like some gates and portals already do.

I'm wondering if this has to do with the migration Legacy CoH did when they swapped forum systems? If I recall correctly there were some threads that didn't make the transition, for instance the 'Fruit Salad' post and subsequent thread regarding playing support characters.

Not backing up @Sanguinesun's comment at all but I find that when reading anything in strict text format, it's best to read no emotion into it at all, otherwise the reader tends to impart their own emotions into what was written. I found the post to be rather matter-of-fact and though a bit blunt, not on the rude side. I try to keep that in mind when responding to a topic, especially a hot one where fingers are flying and posts are coming in fast and furious. That I type as fast as molasses in winter allows me the time to re-read my own posts before hitting the submit button, so that the wording is as neutral as I can make it.

I played it for about a year, but stopped about 6-8 months ago. Every time I turned around some game mechanic or implementation had be saying "that's so stupid", to the point where I just started saying "that's so DDO." Add to that, they still charge full retail prices for their expansions, $20 and up. On occasion you can luck out and catch one of their 'Free Questing Coupons' like this one offered last year, which granted access to almost 50 quests. I only played it because my friends played it, otherwise I had zero interest in it.

The HC forums has a limit cap on posts of just under 100MB, you can see where you stand by clicking on your avatar at the top of the forums and selecting 'My Attachments' from the dropdown menu. I use imgur, but there are numerous hosting sites available out there.

Excluding one specific character, I tend to make the 'soap bubbles' as unobtrusive as possible as they can be migraine-inducing. I could go for some d12 shield bubbles or mystic runes.
