  1. I haven't logged on since shortly after it released. Spent most of my time playing in Beta, reporting issues and providing feedback.
  2. Quills 'burst' was probably the forth sfx I modified, right after the Lt Demon roars, Bots tromping, and glowies. If all one wants to change/silence is a few sfx files, adding the appropriate data\sounds is simple enough and detailed down in the Guides section. @Michiyo's modder is definitely the way to go when swapping out the sfx of entire powersets with some of the offerings of out amazing communities improvements. :)
  3. No. But I did find the CoH subreddit just recently.
  4. Kool & The Gang - Celebration
  5. The "holy trinity" built into many games, in my opinion, is the worst design in MMO's. It pigeon-holes creativity in that you have to design a character to fit into a specific role rather than being able to play what fit's your character and it still working. The main reason that a dedicated "healer" is unnecessary in CoH, because you can buff/debuff to your heart's content rather than just being a 'heal-bot'. This was one of the many issues I had playing DDO with friends. The veteran player of the game, whom my friends and I met in the game, they had in-depth knowledge of the mechanics of the game and abilities and would help us design an effective character based on what we wanted to play, but that left them with creating a character to 'fill the holy-trinity' hole rather than a character they'd rather be playing. This was only one of the problems I had with the game and it got to the point where instead of me saying "that's so stupid" about something the game did to "that's so DDO". I do not attribute CoH's lack of success or continuing on not having the god-awful "holy-trinity" mechanic, I lay that failure solely at the feet of NCsoft and their lack of marketing support for a game they didn't understand and fans they failed to listen to.
  6. If I personally lived in Paragon City? I'd probably like to live in Salamanca because I love the night there, the day is okay and the sun can be fun, but I live to see those rays slip away. In reality I'd probably live in some studio apartment in Faultline.
  7. The only thing I require: Take the legacy Criptic game engine out back and shoot it. Then draw and quarter it. Incinerate it. Crush it to dust. Bury it. Salt the earth in which it is buried. Nuke it from orbit... it's the only way to be sure. Everything else is icing on the cake.
  8. Maybe they can team up with my Titan Weapon/SR Brute mole called... Whack-A
  9. Am I the only one that just leaves their map up all the time? I have it detached and scaled down, sits below my buff bar.
  10. I blew up two HP laptops running Legacy CoH. Mostly because of HP's poor design back then, little to no heat sinks on CPU or GPU and both chips shared the same fan and channel to cool. The portion of the laptop where my wrist would rest would get so hot that I couldn't touch it. 1st one was still under warranty, which they replaced, the replacement wasn't. This was obviously more than 10 years ago and HP may have altered their design since then.
  11. Had a tone deaf bovine but I couldn't get into Symphonic Control so I released him out to pasture. Name was Moosic.
  12. PuGs in general are a toss-up. Some team leaders expect you to follow, others actually lead.
  13. You've given your opinion, the rest of the commenters have given theirs. According to you, all of their opinions are wrong. I'm not really seeing the "discussion" side of your post. I was at HeroCon when CoH's lawyer got a standing ovation from the entire crowd after the Marvel incident. I happen to agree with the ban on IP infringement and CoH's playerbase's tendency to be self-enforcing. It's worked out so far and I have zero issue with HC continuing the tradition.
  14. There are numerous thread with responses explaining the reason, none of which will convince you because you have already made up your mind.
  15. I'd much rather see emote stances and yoga as optional Fly movements.
  16. These are peppered all around CoH. One of my faves so far...
  17. Makes for getting all the exploration badges down there less monotonous. Same with the Gold-side sewer badges.
  18. If I recall correctly, Pepsiman was pretty young when they started playing back on Legacy.
  19. I made a couple of arcs, but it was back on Legacy. Both were 3-5 missions long and for RP purposes. One of them involved tidbit lore regarding there being pockets of humanity on Praetorian Earth outside of Cole's city of Praetoria and the chain had our team getting to New Tokyo, defeating a war lord, then rescuing and evacuating survivors while fending off minions of Hamidon. Afterwards I altered dialog to make that one more generic so anyone could play, rather than the three characters I had made it for.
  20. Background, powersets would be helpful.
  21. Something else you can do is check out the SG's in the server specific forums, to see if any list themselves as 'family friendly'. That may provide you and your kids a more active experience than just the three of you.
  22. Inspired by a different 'name' thread, for gits & shiggles I decided to look up something that randomly came to mind and check availability. If you're into making feline characters, the following is available on all servers... If it Fits I Sits
