Same for me, except during the late late hours when I often get to play, then it reverts to the usual farm-begging, endless Yins and maybe a Tin/Pex (or is it Plex?) if you're lucky - just the like the bad old days! Oh, one new thing I've noted too: back when the game was newly returned, one could make a post like "37th Scrapper LFG" and get responses reasonably often, enough to make it worth your time attempting. That fell by the way side a long while before all these new people showed up. Now there's a fair amount of that in LFG. How long before that gets beaten down again, I wonder?

No, you didn't, you're one hundred percent right: I was talking back to the urban legend/"received wisdom" that a lot of the player base (or at least forum base) appears to be laboring under "I must farm and grind to be able to play." To those folks let me say that I just spent a billion to pay @Etched to build my custom base (money well spent too, look him up!) and somehow managed to do that without grinding or running about with empty slots, while leveling up a new Dom. It can be done! Give up the grinding folks, you have nothing to lose but your pains!

I quit a team with such selfish players. I find these few and far between, thankfully.

I just play the game. I started with IOs in my first toons (some of whom upon revisiting had empty slots still!) and kept playing them and building up the cash, MSRs, a purple drop or two, etc. Grinding is for robots, I have fun and still do just fine. I'm also not a min/maxer, so those things you list while fine aren't necessary - they're really not! I'm currently running a Dom with Defense numbers in the low teens and having a blast. I think this idea is getting way, waaaayy lost these days, that the grind is the "only" way to play, and the new arrivals are going to think this is the game now (which yeah is slippery slope thinking).

Dear god no. I'm not a min/maxer and have no interest to be. I don't like cookie cutter builds and beyond all that, I've encountered a fair amount of e-peen swinging on starred TFs. No, please no.

I have multiple cat-themed toons, so I must check out that cat-based one!

Agreed on those first two sentences, but... why not just not play those ever again? I've sworn off the PI MJ arc for ages now because those large open maps are a boring slog. But it's all about merits, I see... have fun with that I guess, speeding's even more boring, imho. That talking point's been around a long time , and it still seems to boil down as a rationalization for people, who at their root, just want the rewards faster with less effort.

I recently dealt with this and someone else posted about trying to set it up too, in the AE forums so: how about a new mission objective called something like FIND A BODY. That's a bit dark so we might come up with a better name for it. Think like Blue Spectrum from the Galaxy City tutorial. It lets you designate any naturally occurring NPC to be found laying prone on the floor, unmoving. You can set it's info the usual way, allow it to speak if you want ("Water.... so thirsty...") and it won't pop back up or try to follow you later. Hopefully. AE is pretty janky!

Nothing but good. I only had to queue once and I don't care about it one jot. I'm a PUGer by nature so this is nothing but good news for me.

I often do short spurts of speed, then look back to see if the fool is still following. I've often I think seen them run to catch up with me when I'm stretching that rubber band, but then walk once they get closer. Notice I didn't say "when they catch up to me," they seem to start walking fairly fair away.

They've been saying they're working on it for a looooong time now though IIRC. They didn't start last week!

I don't care too much, but considering how rarely we get them, seems they should go back to "issues" yeah. (To be clear, I prefer pages, as little dribs and drabs I feel would be etter to keep people around than "wait 6 months, here's a big one, pop goes up, then drains away starting two months later).

Sayyyy, they were supposed to be working on Kallisti Wharf, where'd that go? I'd have thought that'd be done by now.

Still not as bad a room full of Paragon Protectors that no one's mezzed or killed quickly enough.

I prefer to TP into someone's face, but being able to occasionally choose where I TP to (like when I want to go outside Pocket D heh) has its place. If you've never used a macro/bind for TP attack powers, OMG, it is so, so worth it. I have a Sav/Shield stalker who also took Spring Attack and Combat TP (or whatever that's called) and he'd not be half as fun without them Night and day, for me.

I PUG nearly all the time, because it feels too slow soloing. I like the chaos of a team. So it really falls to a matter of what I can find. I tend to avoid TFs when I can because I'm bored of them and don't feel the need to chase accolades for measly returns. Generally do not farm, not in any manner, or certainly not "I just picked up 35 levels" kind of farming - I';m not here to be bored.

Speed isn't like some law of physics that everyone must obey, it's still a choice, as the bolded part of your quote attests. 😃 These are just greedy, weirdly-focused players, imho. They turn a game into a job.

That is interesting. I've been thinking we (meaning anyone but me ha ha) really needs to compile a whole complete list of all the weird ins and out of the AE system like this as we stumble across them.
