  1. Why wouldn't you just use the Oro portal right after exiting a mission? I mean, if your entire argument is going to be I have to click a button before using the Oro portal, that isn't much of an argument as far as I'm concerned. Having to click a button doesn't even register on the silly scale. Also, saying being able to use it at level 1 doesn't hold water either. What reason is there to use it at or the Oro portal at level 1? You don't have any content running in the majority of zones accessible from them. If you want to claim it is better because there is no cooldown and no real effort put into obtaining it, then yes I will agree it is superior. This is also why I am agreeing that it does need to be changed, along with it being abused in PvP zones and Master of TFs.
  2. You keep arguing that somehow the slash command is vastly superior for travel to what already exists and I tried explaining that it is not in every given situation. It all depends where you are and where you need to go. Sometimes it is the best choice, some times its not. Sometimes Oro portal or the train are better options simply because of where you will exit. This isn't rocket science. Using it just for quick travel is a convenience that's no different than the Oro portal or P2W powers. You brought up using it on speed runs. I see this just about every day. People who are farming merits by running speed TFs have travel time down to a science and I can guarantee you not everyone is using the slash command for quick travel. In my experience it isn't even used half the time. Again, depends on where you are and where you need to go. The slash command to the base is not always the fastest choice as you asserted. Using one of your examples - hazard zones - say I'm deep within Boomtown and need to go to PI or Talos Island next. The Oro Portal or the Base Porter will get me where I need to go. What difference does it make which one I use since they both arrive at the same place in the same amount of steps?
  3. Yes, people were using it as an instant escape from death in Master of TF runs.
  4. No question is it being exploited in PvP and on Master of TF runs, so it does need to be removed. We can only hope that it will get replaced by something similar, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
  5. Not really interested in going tit for tat with you on this - it is simply less loading screens to go to the Oroborous zone via Oro portal than it is to use the beacons in the base.
  6. I might be wrong, however I believe @Bentley Berkeley is talking about losing the capability of saving these as macro buttons. No need to keep a list of passcodes handy somewhere to copy/paste at the portal entrance. It's a very nice QoL feature to do that and I would hope we will be able to retain that capability with whatever replaces it, although I seriously doubt it.
  7. Which is an extra loading screen vs using the Oro portal. Which this does remind me - was there ever a (non-story) reason given for not having a base TP beacon to Cimerora? Or was this something that just never got around to?
  8. There is no teleport beacon for bases to the Oro zone map.
  9. Maybe Warhawk's costume is scarier than yours? 🤣
  10. Beautiful work! I would love to get a 3D print of my main. STO offers this as a service where you can get a 3D print of your ship - would be sweet if we could ever get that here.
  11. She doesn't work there anymore though...
  12. I have something like this in the works myself - it's more a personal story for my own characters so not "overall CoH canon" per se, but it will cover what happened to the CoH world during the hiatus. If you do write yours, please do share. I would love to try it out. 😀
  13. Saying that only one combo makes Empathy viable/useful at higher levels is not much of an argument to say it is useful lol.
  14. @Bentley BerkeleyI don't particularly like or care much about PvP either, however I don't believe preserving the slash command for RPers at the expense of those who enjoy PvP is a good suggestion.
  15. I've never noticed this myself, but I'm curious to check it out now. Can't you just turn your volume down while interacting with her?
  16. And no one suggested it was not and should not be corrected. Removing it is not the only solution to the problem. As to the "hoolplah", it is a nice QoL feature that allows one to save macros to friendly bases without needing to tab out to copy/paste or type in base entry codes.
  17. Are you trying to mix using Arcane and Tech versions? For instance, using Tech Power generators with Arcane rez pads? If so, I believe they need to be the same as in tech generator and tech rez pad.
  18. This is not true. I already gave one example of a modern MMO which requires no travel to access the content.
  19. I don't believe anyone said it should be allowed. Disabling its use in PvP zones or Arena and adding a 10 second interruptible activation time solves the problem too.
  20. Well take some comfort in knowing you're going to get your wish eventually. It's getting removed no matter how much discussion there is on the topic and I'm absolutely certain we'll be stuck with something no one will particularly like. And the slash command cannot take you to Oro, not to mention the exit points for Oro in some cases are far better than the base exit points, so it does have its advantages.
  21. By the time you finish a mission, your Oro portal is recharged. So no, not buying it. If anything, it is just another convenience like the P2W stuff or the Oro portal.
  22. And this is different than using the Oro portal? Or mission teleporter? Or existing base teleporter? I mean, yeah it might save you a couple of seconds here and there, but that's about it. If your mission door is near a train station or your next zone is accessible from Oro, the slash command isn't necessary or convenient.
  23. How? You still need to zone to a base then to whatever zone you need to go to then travel to the mission door.
  24. Yes, you're correct. Your original statement that I replied to was filled with hyperbole. The slash command doesn't make travel any easier or faster, so trying to make it sound as if it is some game breaking thing in that regard is disingenuous. Your post categorized it as an "I win" button that somehow negates the need for travel powers. It doesn't. You still need to travel to mission entry points, contacts, in zone events or whatever.
