  1. Perhaps. Perhaps not. All depends on what the deciding person(s) view as "reasonable". Absolutely. And I can comfortably say even if the rules were to change, I still would not report someone for it.
  2. I could argue your example is too close for comfort to X-23 (and another "alternate universe" Wolverine whose name escapes me at the moment) and should get genericized. Personally, in reality I would let you have your fun with your character and not say a word, but that's me.
  3. Personally, I disagree. One could argue that any Mutant Claw/Regen scrapper is "too close for comfort". I can only speak for myself here - as a child when we played and tied red capes to our necks and pretended to fly and leap tall buildings, we weren't pretending to be "generic superhero 132ZXDFG". I don't begrudge anyone their homages.
  4. Again, where is the distinction made? Would it not be ok for the costume to be yellow and blue, but ok if it were pink and red? What if the character were tall instead of short with red hair instead of black? Is it ok to have a uber-muscular green skinned SS/INV tanker with purple pants so long as it isn't named Hulk or any synonym of the word "hulk"? At the time, I believe it was prudent to err on the side of caution due to the Marvel lawsuit. I'm not so sure that applies anymore or whether or not it is as strictly enforced today. There are readily available free skins of copyrighted characters for just about every game you can imagine all over the internet - from Minecraft to the SIMS to WWE Wrestling - you name it. Players are winning costume contests here in HC based on "homages". There are a lot of people doing it. So do we genercize everyone? Based on what criteria? Where is the line drawn? Trying to determine where that the "thin line" is is not so simple.
  5. To this I would ask how close is "too close" and/or "too obvious"? I think any comic aficionado can very easily draw parallels between any comic character to those we can make in CoH. For instance, any Mutant Claws/Regen scrapper I roll is essentially the same as Wolverine. Any Natural SS/INV tank with Laser Beam Eyes is a Superman/Kryptonian ripoff. Where is the line drawn? The costume editor and power choices we have are more often than not leading toward a "close" match to any existing copyrighted superhero. If you want to stop any potential "frivolous" lawsuits, may as well go ahead and restrict everyone to 1 costume and 1 or 2 power choices that are not "too close to be obvious".
  6. I would not mind an option to "turn off Incarnate XP" as an opt out. I have several toons that I never pictured them as being "incarnate" level heroes. I also would be all for account level discounts for Incarnate XP and such. Basically, the first time you level any character in the incarnate system to +3, all other characters on the account from then on get an x% discount on xp/crafting etc. STO has a system like this for their reputation system. Essentially, you need to slog through the rep to final tier once, then the rest of your characters get a discount. Really helps alleviate the grind.
  7. Yes, the wiki is out of date in that regard. 🙂
  8. You're very welcome all. Glad you are enjoying it! Feel free to share the code.
  9. Not sure about that, but the (mini) Teen Titans (almost) have a base here in CoH!
  10. @reconfigureyourface the car on the lift in the garage is a nice detail! Very cool!
  11. Are you referring to your plot size? If you are the base owner or have the appropriate permissions, you should see a button for "Upgrade Plot" once you enter the base in your entrance room. That's where you select a different plot size. If by background/lighting - those are an option under the Options button in the base editor. You can define lighting type and sky.
  12. I don't believe there are any lighting objects like that beyond the disco ball object. What you might want to do is use a disco ball and then look under the Tech FX tab for various VFX that are what I believe used in game to do the laser lights for the dance clubs. They might not be an exact match, but are similar enough.
  13. This assumes everyone takes Hasten for every character. Hasten certainly isn't as much a requirement as Stamina IMO.
  14. Hiya @Tahquitz! Nice to see you back! For all my fellow Triumph folk - little blast from the past I found. Crisis of Infinite Babbages! I think there are quite a few of us in this video! We have to get another one of these going... maybe toss in a Kronos Titan or twelve at the same time. 😉
  15. I liked Shield/SJ better as a Captain America type character. MA even with alternate animations just didn't look right to me - the alternate punch animations for it look goofy.
  16. As I remember, coalition members can use the personal storage vault in a coalition base since it pertains only to that character. Insp/Salvage/ENH storage cannot be accessed in any base other than the SG the character belongs to - assuming they have the appropriate permissions in their SG. Everything else can be used in coalition bases - teleports, NPC contacts, workbench, mission computer etc. I built a base for the whole Torchbearer Community and there are players in there all the time porting to a zone or doing crafting and such.
  17. Woohoo! Thanks for this!! Can't wait to check them all out. Don't suppose there is a list of the new items anywhere? 🥰
  18. War walls is an interesting suggestion. Would certainly help prevent people from falling off the edge while working aesthetically with regard to designing the base as a new city zone.
  19. When there's trouble you know who to call.... Mini Teen Titans! Still in progress - exterior is pretty well finished, just need to add some flora and start building out the interior. Will share the code once I have it finished.
  20. Ok this cracked me up! LOL!
  21. You will want to take a look at the Base Builders Cheat Sheet in the Base Building sub-forum. Basically, you fill a room from floor to ceiling in the Room Height Editor (see here). Next, press F3 to enable room clipping, then drag/drop your base entry portal above the room you just filled. Now you can start building outside your base. Happy building! 🙂
  22. Mini Lantern Corps SG base is in space. I posted a few screen shots of it here
  23. Discussions evolve as people share ideas - that should go without saying.
  24. Can't speak for everyone however I think this goes without saying. This is just a discussion at this point and certainly has other priorities ahead of it.
  25. I believe you have missed the point entirely here. Again, no one is suggesting removing content just for the sake of removing it. The question being asked is how to improve it? Personally, I think leaving everything as is only works for a certain length of time. At some point, the content get stale.
