I’d also like for it to be shortened however don’t we already have enough TFs that can be completed quickly? what’s so bad about one or two out of the 8-10 TFs being a time sink?

I think the spawns should continue following the character, no matter where they go. Eventually they will have to deal with their own mess, or the mess will get so large that it will deal with them.

Well, it’s done and buried. Lowest grossing MCU movie to date. First MCU film to not cross 100million in N America. Ugly all around. You may not, but a lot of people rely on those ratings to decide if they are going to see a movie they are not already invested in. Ill use IMDB for movies I know nothing about - is it 100% accurate and in line with my tastes? No, but it can still be a good indication if something is trash.

The rumors were originally they were changing course after Kang Dynasty by having Kang dealt with, and then moving on. Now, they are saying Marvel are talking about dropping him altogether and coming up with a new concept for Avengers 5 Personally, I hope they drop him and rebuild now.

Think it’s both. They fired the writer back before the strike. Still have no script. The director just quit and it was supposed to start shooting next year. I think issues with the actor, issues getting a script along with an apparent lack of enthusiasm by the audience, are all contributing to this. Lets be honest. Kang is a very complicated character. I think Marvel may be realizing they greatly overestimated their ability to get people to understand and invest in him, the same way they did with Thanos. Of course, the rumors could be false, but it’s popping up more and more every day.

I really enjoyed the first Capt Marvel. No interest in this one. Thought Dr Strange MoM was awesome - but I am also a huge fan of the Scarlet Witch character, and I really like what they did with her. Antman Quantumania I’m torn on. I thought it was okay, but am confused as to why Marvel chose to job out the next big baddie in his first movie. Yes, there are haters in this world who will refuse to watch a movie just based on it having a female lead. But there are not enough of them to kill a movie. Just like there are not enough comic book fans to make an MCU movie profitable/record breaking. It takes the general audience to push a movie over the profit line, or to sink a movie.

Advertising would drive it higher I imagine. The amount I quoted takes into account theater cost. Movie cost roughly $270mill to make - one of the MCUs highest budgets. They received around $50mill to film in the UK, lowering actual cost to around $220. Theaters usually get around 40% of ticket sales. I know advertising costs were cut due to the strike, and not having to fly actors around to promote. So not exactly sure how much was spent on advertising - in the past, I’ve heard studios double the movies budget for advertising. I think the $400-$450 I’ve seen thrown around may end up being on the low end.

@Troo Reports are that it has to pull 400mill at the box office to break even. Just can’t see that happening when opening weekend didn’t even do 75mill - the numbers are all down hill from here

My mistake I misunderstood you lol I agree. People didn’t go because it’s a bad movie. Even the comic fanboys seemed to have stayed away. They usually are there opening weekend, but not this time

I’m just not buying “the anti-woke” brigade has caused this mess with The Marvels. Same thing was said about the recent Charlie’s Angels and WW84. In reality, they were horrible movies. Truth is this movie went through all types of reshoots and massive editing to fix things - that is never a good sign (see Aquaman 2. They have the same reported issues, and is also expected to bomb) Are there some that won’t go see it screaming “ woke garbage”? Of course. But many more will see it if it’s good. Until the blame placed where it should be - the writers, and the studio for churning out trash - nothing will change. People can create all sorts of excuses and point the fingers everywhere but at themselves if they like. In the end, it won’t bring people to the theaters to watch the movies if they are no good. I’ve already explained my reasoning for not going to see this, and it has nothing to do with any “woke” nonsense.

I agree to an extent @ThaOGDreamWeaver I used to love going to the movies. Went a couple times a week. But for the past couple years, it has to be something I REALLY want to see to get me into a theater. Because I don’t want to deal with other people, and their need to look at their phones or talk during the movie. It’s just not worth it anymore. The MCU was something that always had me at the theaters on opening weekend. I knew if it was an MCU movie, it would be entertaining and enjoyable. Something the general audience also knew, which is how they were able to pull amazing box office numbers - that couldn’t be done with just fanboys. Then they started releasing bad movies. Im at the point now where I just wait until I can watch it at home. I hope they get back to where they were, but it doesn’t really sound like it. Sounds like they are going into panic mode (bring back the original Avengers. Really?). Haven’t seen anything at the theaters this year. Lots of stuff came out I was interested in, but none that outweighed the theater experience - except the upcoming Godzilla Minus One. I will be there opening weekend with my overpriced drink and popcorn.

IMO this has nothing to do with Disney+ content, cost of going to theaters, or any type of “fatigue” Since Endgame, the MCU has been hit or miss, with the misses getting worse and worse. If the movie is good, people will go. Its almost like Marvel figured they could do no wrong after Endgame, and people would watch whatever they put out - now, they can’t figure out how to get back on track. Things really seem a mess. As for The Marvels. I didn’t watch it for 2 reasons. First, Idont care anything about Monica Rambaeu (sp?). Marvel has so many great characters, and this is who they choose to have in a movie? Second, Brie Larsons portrayal of Capt Marvel is not fun or entertaining. I loved her first movie. Thought it was great. Then she shows up in Endgame, and has turned into a cocky know it all. I kept waiting for Thanos to knock some humility in her, which never happened. Sorry, to me she plays the character as someone who knows how powerful she is, and can do whatever she wants because no one can stop her - not my idea of a hero. In fact, sounds like the origin story of a cool villain. As for Ms Marvel - I like her. I liked her show. I like the character and certainly hope we get more of her.

Not sure why you are struggling to understand his point. Quit focusing on the AFK part. It’s the part about NOT CONTRIBUTING that he is referencing. He is saying that since you are OK with people earning rewards for no effort, you should have no problem with him joining your team. You do all the work, while he sits back and reaps the benefits.

He is/was saying for you to invite him so you could see how it feels to do all the work, while he gets equal rewards for doing nothing. It was in response to you seemingly being okay with the AFK MMs doing the same thing (minus the invite).

You’re missing the point of what he is offering. He is saying invite him, so he can do nothing and get rewards, while you do all the work. Just like the AFK MMs
