  1. @OmnibusOmnh looks good! Though, it's a little hard to tall which archetypes these powersets belong to. 😅 I've been going over ancillary ideas re-using the Praetorian material that helped make the Force (PPD), Pain (Seers) and Arsenal (Clockwork) inspired powersets, and I may post these up soon!
  2. Easiest way to go about it would be to have the two color options that typical power customisation allows for and have them change the colors of your chosen henchmen. Sort of how it works for customising existing NPCs in Architect Entertainment. For example; for mercenaries it would change the camo of their uniform, for thugs perhaps the undershirt/accessories, and so on. It's not a lot of customisation, but it fits within the scope of what the HC team could probably do right now.
  3. Yeahhh the vomit animations are already a point of contention with the Poison powerset, there's been plenty of push to get alternative animations so that there's a 'no vomit' theme, which is why I was a bit sceptical about a very vomit-focused ancillary 😋
  4. @Player2 I like the look of it, but I think it would be better to make ancillaries based off the 'Poison' powerset, pulling powers directly from it, maybe borrowing a few powers from Vahzilok like you've done here (Bile Spray could also be pinched from Leviathan mastery too). There's also the 'Toxin Control' and 'Toxin Manipulation' powersets in this thread too if you wanted some pre-made material to work with. I was looking into what material there is here in the thread already and considering making ancillaries from those too! I'm a little wary of the Defender and Controller version, because it has quite a lot of debuff potential, something those archetypes are well-equipped with already. So with that in mind, I could see this sorta concept working well for melee archetypes at least, perhaps even sentinels, blasters, and maybe masterminds.
  5. And herein lies the real issue. You're arguing there's some great divide in the playerbase over how to advance your character... There really isn't. There certainly isn't "two player communities with vastly different goals", you're in a very small minority of people who seem to have issue with how the rest play the game. You're trying to subvert people into thinking there is far more backing behind a suggestion like this than there actually is, and making it seem like its going to benefit the greater community and not just a small clique. And lets be real... if that teeny tiny fraction of the community are unhappy and leave? It would hardly impact the game at all. So don't try and delude yourself (or others) that you're doing anyone any favors, you're the agitator here... if you don't like how people play then that's too bad, go to Rebirth if it bothers you that much.
  6. The last few big patches introduced new powersets and low-level mission content, that's accommodating the opposite of end-game crowd.
  7. That's just the "We Have Cake" server.
  8. The reason why the prestige travel powers (ninja run, steam jump, flying carpet, etc) exist is so that players can access weaker versions of the core travel powers without having to invest in the travel power pools themselves. None of these powers are slottable either, because you're basically getting something for nothing. That's the compromise the devs were willing to make to ensure that players could travel for free without creating any potential balance issues. If you want a decent travel power you have to make room in your build to do so. There's already been plenty of change to the travel power pools to make them more accessible than they used to be. Originally you could only pick fly/teleport/super speed/super jump at level 14 and it required you to pick another power from the pool beforehand. Then they changed it so you could gain it at level 6, then again down to level 4, without even having to pick up another power as a prerequisite. Gaining travel powers is so easy now, and giving them away for free just seems gratuitous at this point. If you really want access to all travel power types, you have dedicated space for 2 pool powers in every build... just pick Magic Flight and Speed of Sound and there you have it. If that's not enough... well... play a Kheldian?
  9. A while back I tired to create a 'Stalker' version of Blaster myself, have a look if you like.
  10. Tone is important
  11. Hmmm, you might want to re-read too, because I clarified my tone as being 'bemused' fairly early on. But hey, if you want to turn this thread onto a pile on me instead, it's just as likely to get the GMs involved.
  12. You might want to read the parts where OP only quotes me to make petty remarks. 🤔 Besides, you can just report posts and move on, and let the GMs handle it. ...I'm sure everyone here can speak for themselves anyway.
  13. Works both ways, people are allowed to give their input without OP challenging criticism with personal attacks.
  14. I don't expect it to be an easy fix but... Would the Sentinel version of Regen work better on a Tanker? (and perhaps Brutes?)
  15. Oh god I hope not. The guy who can't put together that a map is a handful of megabites is running the server? yikes! I guess if somebody like that was giving out orders, he'd know how to deal with criticism too, right?
  16. I'm bemused, if anything. Taking things away from people to simply benefit yourself isn't going to land you much support.
  17. So you want to stop people from enjoying echo maps to save yourself a few megabites of storage? Good grief...
  18. I defer to my earlier point; accuracy and resistance are more important than recharge or range. What's the point in stacking recharge or range if your power keeps missing? Or if they don't deal enough damage? or the endurance cost bleeds you dry? The game is set up so you don't end up shooting yourself in the foot ignoring important mechanics in favor of ones that are pretty much useless on their own. You also fail to realise that softcapping things like that isn't overkill, because there are a great many debuffs in the game that will target things like defense, resistance, accuracy, and so on... but very few that target things like range. You aren't just building to improve your character, you're creating a safety net for when things get dicey. (Still not sure how that's me being "biased")
  19. How do you come to the conclusion I'm "biased"? Things that are useful tend to be more accessible, while things that fill a niche role tend to appear less frequently. Not sure what game you're playing, but it doesn't sound like CoH.
  20. Most cones tend to have a low target cap so if that got increased too I could see +range being far more helpful
  21. You've answered your own question. It's rare because it's not that valuable or helpful.
  22. I believe it may be an issue with shoulder options that already had asymmetrical options, because I noticed that the Tech Knight and Black Knight shoulder options are limited too.
  23. When they first introduced the asymmetrical shoulder options they made note that not all costume parts will be immediately available, give it time.
  24. @Galaxy Brain looks good so far! I'm curious about the rationale behind some of these choices, not that I see anything wrong, but always good to get a feel for what direction people are aiming for
  25. Did you quote the wrong person? I don't follow.
