Have a pretty good sized group already if you want to raise a torch with us - there is still time :-)
-
Last year we celebrated returning from this sad event. Our City is back and once again we should commemorate overcoming the sundown on that date. I would like to do it again - Atlas Park under the Atlas Statue - the steps of City Hall - Monday November 30 - 10pm Eastern lets raise the torches once again!

Its kinda like willpower - once GB learned to slot it - it was good then. Foods like slotting takes skill to make good :-) Except regen, no amount of seasoning makes it good.

My turkey is not dull, in fact there is a better than average chance it would change your life. Its a long process that starts with a 24 hr brine of wine, kosher salt and texas pete - next you dry the turkey - then have this rub thats made of flour texas pete and seasonings till it becomes a paste coating the turkey - lastly I fry it till crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.... Like i said - change... your... life....

Here is how I tested it, you can substitute any key for it and any distance too. And you can also add up or down. /bind w "powexec_location target combat teleport" /bind s "powexec_location back:100 combat teleport" /bind a "powexec_location left:100 combat teleport" /bind d "powexec_location right:100 combat teleport"

Powers on power bar unclickable
Infinitum replied to aethereal's topic in [Open Beta] Bug Report Archive
Still has the issue upon logging in - you cant select the first power in the tray without first selecting any of the other powers. -
What you are describing is the same scenario. I dont know how else to put it. Feature X buffs Y in either scenario, but neither are required. Neither are world breakingly difficult. I'm not saying people have to like it, just the reason that is being used of it being a disruption to play style isn't logically valid because 1. You dont have to use it, its not like momentum that locks powers out. 2. Its part of how a normal attack chain would flow anyway - the major disruption to the attack chain in the case of EM was BS and they removed the focus mechanic from it. Its just hard to buy not liking it under those scenarios and take it any other way than not giving it a fair trial.
-
You still have free reign over your attack chain on every set with the exception of TW. The next question points to playing optimal or not. For example even if you did not play new EM to take advantage of focus it is still an improvement. There are already built in walls that will corrall you to where the optimization lies even on sets without a mechanic - recharge is a big one that will eventially force a direction on what attacks can be up and when forcing choices on when to use what power anyway. But as I have said many times being optimal is not a prereq. Sets that require 1 power that you would/should use anyway to unlock a feature - I wouldn't call it an issue at that point, but it does corrall you to what is optimal faster. That really kinda is the same thing, if you know that a power in the set has a debuff that makes the other powers after it more powerful, while not being required - goes back to playing optimal. Its still a feature of the set - mechanic -that makes what follows it more potent.

I think the animation time should be left alone with the only caveat every time Tremor is used a random Regen player dies.

Focused Feedback: Energy Melee Revamp
Infinitum replied to Jimmy's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
If you were skipping total focus, it may seem slow but actually was a high burst attack especially under build up. I remember pre nerf I ran just about every possible combination to maximise dps and TF always ended up in the chain because it usually provided a one two punch to either take out a boss outright in combo with ET or 2 lieu in combo with ET. The rest of the attacks were at best fillers - bone smasher was decent, but they really didnt hold a candle to the 1-2 punch you had with ET and TF as a one two combo - especially under build up because you could fit 2 ETs in 1 build up easily like ET TF EP or BS ET. Then filler. That was devastating, but having said all that the new EM outperforms that by a fairly large margin by every test I have ran. Its more sustainable, more damage, less end usage, lower recharge, lower animation times. Its just the clear cut winner empirically and thematically because it is in every way identical to pre nerf EM by only using TF - and with the addition of PC which I am growing to love. -
Let me attempt to simplify it. TF before ET unless needing more AOE, and sometimes regen is key for any random AV. There I rhymed it. :-)
-
I have to respectfully disagree. The only limiter to fast ET now as you know is using TF before it. It's merely an order change. The rest falls into place however your imagination would allow. Is there a possibility you could mess up and allow for a slow ET - sure but remember the recharge is way lower than it was on live and the endurance cost is null. So that ends up being a penalty in name only. I exclusively mained EM on live pre nerf. And there really is no other fair opinion that can be had other than it recaptures it based on all the performance features this redesign has. It does not duplicate it but I never said that. I only stated its a little faster which again is demonstrable. I havent posted anything that isnt able to be backed up, because I played countless hours pre nerf, and I have played countless hours testing this re design. While not a duplicate, it is simply the best compromise for a fast balanced set that captures what pre nerf EM could do and then expands on that as well. And to the last point, again... Yes, anyone has any right to not like any thing and have as many conversations that could be had. However, That breaks down the instant that dislike goes into calling the works crap, or BS, or any other number of names I have seen this called - that just isnt grounded in any reality from any honest fair perspective that could be had on the performance of this redesign and honestly is disrespectful to the volunteer group spending so much time to give this to us. Dislike and disagreements are fine, but that will never be ok in my book.

In a fair assessment thats not blatantly false. 1. The set does everything original EM can do. 2. The set is improved over original EM. - added AOE in PC - buffed EP, WH - 0 cost Et and lowered recharge - lowered animation time of TF 3. The set never has to use slow ET - all you have to do is switch TF before ET - this is for those that hate slow ET 4. Its not complicated, to those saying it is - its just really... Not.... Complicated. 5. The original feel is there - in fact maybe a little faster. Theres not much to add any other stance really doesnt remember original EM too well. 6. Numbers even out of focus still competes with original EM - under focus it blows them out of the water. Yes people are allowed to not like it, but statistically, thematically, and functionally - not liking it based on those points I'm just not buying it. Sorry, that's being obtuse for the sake of proving a point or trying to get your way just to get your way.
-
You are projecting a different scenario to what I am actually saying. And that's fine but not an accurate portrayal of my point. Saying you dislike something is fine. Saying something sucks over and over and over again, without anything to back it up other than your opinion isnt contributing anything past the first time. Im not even saying dont do that, but I am saying I will point out how that contributes nothing to a focused feedback thread moving forward like I am here. Post all you like in fact, it won't make your point any more constructive.
-
And again You are incorrect, that isnt the only thing this thread is about first of all. This thread is about if you arent testing major changes you cant possibly provide focused feedback about specific changes, or the impact of their functions. Furthermore the last couple of I dont wanna-you are being mean posts arent grounded in reality either, because just not liking something for the sake of not liking it - when there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary - isnt a fair assessment and shouldn't be part of focused feedback - not over and over and over again anyway.
-
Yeah, ok there partner, have fun with that notion. ;-)
-
You totally missed the point on everything I said.
-
Those were insults, yes, but they were also accurate.
-
Its not insults, and its not my view of game balance. And yes the Devs have gone above and beyond to answer every LEGITIMATE concern about any change they have made. Tear jerking and carpet pounding doesn't count.
-
I'm not pointing fingers to you directly just in general to objections I have observed here. No, its purposely obtuse to say something sucks not based on its merits, when this set accomplishes every prerequisite for being a great balanced set and even caters to how the set was, and how the set should perform in the current game environment as it is today. Every legitimate objection has been addressed and modified since its been in testing. To not like it is a personal preference -not anything that is based on testing it on its merits - because if you honestly do that, this set 1. achieves the pre nerf feel of EM, 2. is very simple to use, 3. Is much improved over both pre nerf and current live versions. 4. Offers something great but slightly different for every AT. 5. Is balanced well with Min Maxing or not. 6. Versatile The only complaints left are from arguments that either haven't been involved in testing extensively or just flat out not being fair to the work put into this set to make it so good. There just simply isnt any good reason to not like this set aside from being difficult for the sake of being difficult. So the long and the short of it is you can say you dont like it, but you are only doing yourself a disservice by doing so, and not being at all objective.
