  1. Yes, thank you for the obvious answer, it's also irrelevant to my point. There are ways to not recreate other characters, again obvious and irrelevant to my statement. My point is telling people to be more creative is an extremely ridiculous response. It's also very dismissive of others. I'm not really sure what you're arguing here or what your point is.
  2. I stand by my statement. The response to tell people to be more creative is extremely ridiculous. It's not easy, and quite frankly not possible for everyone. Especially those times people really mean original when they say creative, being original isn't really a thing since we're all building off the ideas and works of those that came before. Yes, there will always be people trying to make a quick buck, doesn't change anything I said. Perhaps, that depends if that character is still protected by trademark.
  3. Exactly. Though the CDA is law in the United States, our politicians and corporations consistently push and force other countries to change their laws to match close to what we do. People in other countries should care about this too as it very could have a significant impact on them. Plus a lot of industry lobbying groups are involved in the trade agreement process directly and indirectly.
  4. People wanting clearly defined rules are not going to get what they want, it is literally impossible for this topic. Copyright and trademark infringement cases are decided by the courts or other legal body set up specifically for that. Everybody else, rights holders, lawyers, me, you, HC, are just making judgment calls. People telling others to simply be more creative are being extremely ridiculous. If it were that easy we wouldn't have a use for IP laws in the first place. It's much easier said than done. The HC team is not the problem here, the problem is organizations like Disney, the RIAA, MPAA, Writer's Guild, John Deere, Oracle, Mosanto(though that's patents), etc perverting the intent of IP laws for pure profit and greed. It is absolutely in the HC team's best interest to err on the side of caution. Deciding this stuff in the courts and with lawyers is prohibitively expensive for the vast majority of people and organizations. If you don't want these type of issues to become worse, pay attention when companies and politicians go after Section 230 of the CDA. If that goes away we'll all be in a much more restrictive environment as it will be significantly easier to sue platforms and games that host user created content.
  5. People keep bringing up lower prices, but is that the goal or even very realistic? I was under the impression that the goal was to slow inflation so prices go up slower at a slower rate.
  6. Yes it was changed at the end of March: Call of the Sandman: Chance for Heal No longer procs multiple times per power Heal increased from 5% to 15% This proc is now unique
  7. Werner addressed this well, but I will add that IOs made the game better in pretty much every way possible. That being said, I think it's fair to question if our current power levels are ideal or not. But without IOs, this would be a terribly boring game by 2010 standards, and likely wouldn't be back today at all. I like everything you said here and completely agree. The old Scrapper boards were absolutely my favorite part of the old forums. I think I learned more there than the rest of the forums combined.
  8. I could figure it out, it's just been soooooooooooooooooooo long that I'd have to put a decent amount of thought into it.
  9. This does sound interesting, but I gotta be honest, I don't know how to build a level 50 character using only SOs at this point.
  10. The last five isn't even something that be avoided outside of simply not selling certain items at all. It crops randomly and the item sells for significantly more even though the posting price isn't adjusted. The one I know about that comes up over and over is a high demand item that will start selling for 2-5 times it's normal price. The only difference I notice is it sells somewhat slower for me, and I just assume that is because other people jump in and start posting it for less than my standard price.
  11. True, but I don't believe that's the actual reason. I believe the accuser is full of shit.
  12. I wouldn't be surprised if AFK farming went away somehow, but I'd be shocked if they made an intentional move against power leveling since they've been aware of and supportive of it to this point. Fighting against farming/power leveling is a losing battle. I openly mocked Positron when he made that silly little statement/open letter to the community when he got all butthurt about AE power leveling. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mock the HC team, or even get mad since I play a lot less these days. But it would be an extremely short sighted move on their part. Once I'm done with Borderlands 3 and No Man's Sky I will likely be ready for some more City of Heroes binging.
  13. Sometimes going for the blue tower first is the better strategy because that gives Recluse a huge to hit bonus, and extra speed and recharge. Plus I'd go in with lots of purple and orange inspirations for anybody tanking him. I don't know the exact numbers needed, but bring enough to max out resists and defense. Once he can't hit as often, then the rest will generally be easier. If your healers are debuffers, then I'd make sure they focus their abilities on the towers so they go down as quickly as possible. Any Incarnates can use their Lore pets there as well for the added DPS and potential buff/debuffs. When going after the towers save any AoE attacks not a part of your normal attack chain for the repairmen that pop up. If the team is strong enough, a lot of people skip the blue tower altogether(I do too quite often), but that to hit buff can cause issues if defenses aren't high enough. A lot of recent advice you find on this TF may be assuming a team of all or nearly all Incaranates, and a team like that could likely just overpower the final battle. Paragonwiki also has a couple alternate strategies for him: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Ms._Liberty_Task_Force#Stop_Lord_Recluse.21
  14. Ah I see. Just a vague accusation that you refuse to back up and therefore nobody can dispute. That's super convenient! Or since this is supposedly done openly, surely the open discussions are easy to point to?
  15. I'm still curious about these market exploits you mentioned a few pages back.
  16. Marketers compete with each other. If I set my prices too high, someone absolutely will come along and undercut me. Your statement is incorrect.
  17. I'm taking a break from Borderlands 3 until Mayhem 2.0 is released. Pretty much have Amara where I want her and I'm gonna hold off on farming more since I feel like most of my guns are going to quickly become irrelevant assuming Mayhem 2.0 ups the stats on everything. So I finally decided to give No Man's Sky a shot, and we'll, I played it like 15 hours this weekend. So I think I like it.
  18. City of Heroes was a games that would have died years before it did if it wasn't for the invention system. Looking back, pre IO City of Heroes was a shitty game.
  19. This is the most incorrect statement in the thread, and it's not even close.
  20. Ha! I didn't even realize this was an old post.
  21. It works out as a game changer. Bonfire with the KB to KD IO is brokenly good.
  22. ALL HAIL EMPEROR COLE
  23. The behavior you're noticing is a result of years of anti KB control freaks ranting and raving and bullying people that don't play the way they want. I can't speak for anyone else, but I decided long ago to treat those people the same way. That is if I acknowledge them at all. Because quite often those players, actually those people, are not worth acknowledgement. It's actually why I use stars instead of ignore for them, I feel learning or remembering or cataloging their name in some way is more respect than they deserve.
