Official 'enterbasefrompasscode' Resolution thread

I feel like this was already addressed by this: -
Small suggestion: No more nerf herding threads
MunkiLord replied to TheAdjustor's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Personally I think this thread constantly going back and talking about another person not involved in this thread is tacky and people need to move on. The feelings on the subject have been made clear by multiple people over and over, at this point it's just piling on. -

That 2 feet was a 40% buff in range, that is absolutely significant. -
Shield Charge and AAO being superior on Scrappers might make it the exception.

Small suggestion: No more nerf herding threads
MunkiLord replied to TheAdjustor's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Nerf threads don't bother me, I'm all for keeping them around, so I disagree with the OP This game is a toy. It's quite literally a thing we use for entertainment. So if it changes in a way that makes it less and/or not fun for a person, they should take their stuff and go home. Because if it's not fun, then it is 100% pointless. So I ask, what's wrong with the attitude of "these are my toys and if you take them I'm going home." as it relates to entertainment? -
I don't have an opinion either way on your particular idea, but I would like to point out that Blasters used to perform that way and the players largely hated it. Granted AT design and power pool design are very different things, but I'm not sure how much support such an idea would receive. Not that it's bad, but the last implementation of it likely left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. Now as far as @Steampunkette's most recent suggestion is concerned, I like that one the most. That doesn't mean I'm sold on it as it's fair to question how much impact it would ultimately have for what appears to be a good amount of work. Plus I haven't really dove into the numbers, but I trust her on the math. Of course I'd want to test such a thing on actual characters to see how it plays out in practice as unintended consequences are a thing. But I don't see a downside for me, and out of consistency it's only fair I consider that since it was my only objection previously. If it works out how Steampunkette believes it would, the end result likely wouldn't have much impact on me either way. So purely from my perspective it would look like change for change's sake. But if I'm not negatively impacted and it others benefit, sure why not?

THANK YOU!! This is my favorite power in the game, and it's not even close. I can envision scenarios in which I maybe, possibly might skip Hasten. Hell, sometimes I don't take Hasten until late in a build. But Combat Jumping? Every build, as soon as possible. I don't remember taking it after level ten with one exception and that was a Dom that intentionally took Hover and Fly. I hated it. Combat Jumping is the best thing ever.

Well taking into account Zac's reply then it seems the GMs agreed with the name being fine and the problem was the costume, or perhaps a combination of two. Whether or not I would agree I can't say as I obviously can't see the costume to make my own judgement call.

I doubt it, a reasonable conclusion is only a moron in a hurry would mistake that for Wonder Woman or confuse the character as being a product of DC. That being said, it's just easier for a company to say no and move on.

This is fair request, I also remember failing the TV trial more than once. I also remember one time having Super Speed as my only travel power, not even Combat Jumping and before the various temp/vet rewards. Just getting to the final mission door was a nightmare and took me forever. Perhaps if possible, have the reward scale? The more Incarnate powers that are deactivated for the run, the most you can swap out at completion? For those that want/need an easier run, go in full strength and swap out one or two. Those that want to hate themselves deactivate them all and then get to repick them all?

I'm by no means an expert, and certainly not a lawyer, but IP is a topic I enjoy reading about. Various sites like Techdirt and Ars Technica are ones I frequent for info on this.

What is the difference between classic STF and Ms Liberty TF? Just the contact? -
I like your idea, it's a good cost to pay in my opinion. But I really want a difficult Incarnate respec trial, I think that would be a blast. I don't mean a league thing like normal trials, but a normal team like Terra Volta respec. I don't even think it would have to be a power swap thing either, maybe give back 50-75% of components in threads if completed.

Where is this information found? I'm intrigued. -
And most negative changes I happily and/or quietly roll with. But a change that would have a negative impact on literally every single character I have, is not something I feel I have a reason to support. Why would I want to support a change that would negatively impact my game experience every time I do anything more than marketing? Who wants to make a game less fun for themselves? Also, if a more balanced game is something your example group desired, that is absolutely a benefit in a potential myriad of ways. What those benefits are will depend on what someone wants out of their experience since that's completely subjective. Some examples are more varied play sessions that allow more creativity, stronger bonds with the group, more players, etc. The good of the game as a whole is definitely a goal motivated by what one wants and desires. Immediate fun isn't the only benefit people can get from changes. Some of the proposals are more long term, and that's fine. But they are made because it will ultimately benefit the person making the suggestion in some way at some point. And there is nothing wrong with that. Finally, the ED to IO example simply doesn't fit here since the overall long term benefit of this suggestion has not be shown in any tangible way. Sure more balance and build variety are generally good things, but they are also extremely subjective and difficult to quantify. So if I am going to buy into changes that will negatively impact me for the sake of some future benefit, I need something concrete. In the end, we all play this game because we get something out of it(I assume that something is generally fun/enjoyment). If we didn't, then there isn't a good reason to play. Every idea, every suggestion, every change made is with an eye towards that goal.

I think to have any noticeable impact on people choosing Hasten on every build the inherent change would need to be larger, like 40-50% and Hasten moved to 20-30%. If that were the change, I think it would accomplish the goal of the OP. But that is also a significant boost to base stats, so then we run head on into the power creep issue. I think. I could be wrong as I'm just speculating on what the masses will do.

That's nonsense. Every suggestion in this forum, every change made in the game, all comes from varying amounts of selfishness. People are proposing what they think would be better for the game because they feel such changes would benefit them and their play experience. And there is nothing wrong with that. Why do people propose balance changes? Because they enjoy the game and they feel it would be better for the game and keep it around longer, make it more fun, grow the community, or some other motivation that would benefit them. And there is nothing wrong with that. The people in charge weigh such ideas and what various players want and try to do what is best. But even developers are motivated by various personal benefits like their job, money, reputation, etc. And there is nothing wrong with that. People don't like it when someone is open about their selfish motivations, I get that. But we all have them. I am opposed to anything that will negatively impact literally every character I have and my entire experience with the game. That is sensible and logical. And if a proposal would have that immediate negative impact, but lead to something even better like ED did with IOs, cool. Then that case needs to be made before I will happily accept said change. Is it selfish? Yes. Does that mean it's automatically bad, no.

What those EULA are stating is that the user grants an unlimited license for the company to use their user generated content in their game and ads for as long as they want. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty confident that one cannot sign over IP rights by simply accepting a game EULA.

This is me. Any change that is going to impact every single character I have, I need a concrete reason why it would benefit me, not other players or the game as a whole, but me. This doesn't mean other people don't matter or shouldn't be considered, just that I am absolutely and openly looking out for myself before others. If a change is something that could have a potential dramatic impact on my playtime literally every single time I a mission/TF/trial, I want to know what I get out of it. Some will call my attitude on this topic selfish, and they would be correct. If such a change would have no notable impact on me, then I don't care either way. If it benefits me, cool, but I think the current power levels are good so that wouldn't mean much to me. Though I obviously wouldn't complain. If it would have a negative impact on me, I'm out. Negative impact includes needing to respec all my characters to regain previous power levels(though your modified suggestion doesn't fall into that category as far as I can tell).
