As I said elsewhere (but I forgot one), I only find it to be worth it in a few edge cases - botz when there's a 2 million difference between regular and kb (now only rarely), Aegis when there's a large difference between rech/end and psionic and the other 4 pieces (reasonably often), Decimation proc when the others are all selling over 2.5 million (usually only weekends), LotG end/rch if it's not selling over 3 million. I'd say probably steadfast too but I don't convert in that range. The sets with only one winner and 5 others aren't worth the risk imho. If I get numina I just sell whatever piece and usually get a couple million. If i get miracle or performance shifter i just reconvert rare.

It's intentional. If you're exemped you get 2x influence.

I guess my reply got zapped in the forum migration. Here's my arch/ta build. I'm only at level 30 but I make a final build to level with if i'm familiar enough with the powers so I can throw attuned versions of my final IOs as I go. It's already very fun and easy with insta-snipe (kismet, a level 25 to-hit IO in tactics and the offensive buff from P2W does it) and the kb to kd in explosive arrow. Bonfire is just going to be added lulz to my 15 second RoA at 50. Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 2.22 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! you can build and convert them for a fraction of the price, but you'd then still need to buy them on the AH to get them attuned or waste 3 or however many million using a catalyst. oh and my post re in set attuning got zapped by forum migration - i only convert in set when BotZ kb is selling for over 3 million (rare now), when the Aegis +psi and end/rech are selling for under 2 and the other pieces over three, and when the end/rech and def/rech Luck of the Gambler pieces are selling for much less (they fluctuate from a bit less to 3 million less depending on the day). My basic rule is I only convert in set if it's only going to take one or two conversions to get something good. I'll never play the lottery for one good piece like miracle or sudden acceleration.

That's standard lowbie CoT. A handful of archer mobs that are lulz and a whole passel of ghosts just waiting to pounce while you try to take out the demon.

Sister Psyche's Oro arc for stalkers... 50 Merits an hour.
Mr. Vee replied to Frostweaver's topic in Stalker
I thought who shall die #1 only gives 20 merits the first time you do it and then every 7 days. I think you only get 5 merits after you finish it the first time until the 7 day window expires. It does unless they changed it sometime in the last few months. I was getting cooldown like on live running it on my first HC toon. -
What's considered a lot of wealth in the game?
Mr. Vee replied to Alphabet Soup II's topic in The Market
So I decided as an experiment I'd record my conversions for a tray. I paid 100k each for converters and 22,222 each for 10 recipes @ level 31. bought salvage at 1111 and 2222 for common/rare. crafting costs were 48.2k. Looking at ~75k but we'll call it a hundred for simplicity's sake. I then converted them to rare so I'm at 300k per before converting by rarity: 1 ) -> zinger, Ghost widow, Force fb, nictus trip (almost stopped here), analyze weakness, lady grey, stupefy, impervium armor res. started converting by type -> titanium, impervium trip, unbreakable e/r, titanium, UNBREAKABLE GUARD R/E. Last couple sales were under 3 million but it was Friday evening so i listed at 3,010,000. Cost 2 million, sold 4 million. profit ~1.75 million. 2 ) -> Widow, LG, annihilation a/d, timespace, ToDeath, celerity, Gift of ancients. now by type -> reactive trip, LOTG D/R listed at 3.56 million. Cost 1.4 million. sold 5 million. profit ~3.25 million 3 ) -> KINCOM DE listed at 3.01 mill. cost 400k. sold 4 mill. profit ~3.25 million (normally I'd expect this to sell between 2 and 2.5 mill but there were only 3 for sale when i listed). 4 ) -> stupefy, Dark watcher proc, turtle, AEGIS R/E listed at 3.1 mill. Cost 700k, sold 3.5 million profit ~2.6 million 5 ) -> widow, LOTG End/Rech listed 3.01 mill. cost 500k. sold 4 mill. profit ~3.25 mill. 6 ) -> Lockdown AH, nictus H, kincom proc. in set convert to KINCOM D/E/R listed 3.01 mill. cost 900k. sold 3.2 mill. profit ~2.1 mill 7 ) -> unbounded, devastation, sudden acc., devastation, sovereign, glimpse, entropic, annihil, unbreakable guard r/r. by type to reactive, titanium, reactive, titanium, impervium, AEGIS RES. listed for 3.5 million. cost 2.4 million. sold 3.8 mill. profit ~1.2 million 8 ) -> ToDeath proc, malaise, LotG D/R. since it was an early drop and i had one of these up already i rolled in set to E/R then LOTG D/E which i listed for 4.01 million. cost 1.2 million. Sold 4.5. Profit ~3 million 9 ) -> LG, glimpse, AEGIS R/R listed 3.01 mill. cost 600k. sold 3.5 mill. profit ~2.7 mill. 10 ) -> Gauss to hit, lockdown a/r, malaise, unbounded, BOTZ KB listed for 1.55 mill. cost 800k. sold 2 mill. profit ~1.08 million. Total profits ~24 million. Seems about right for one tray given that i've been doing 3-7 a day and throwing 100-250 million off to alts per day. -
For winter IOs, the normal and superior versions are bucketed. For ATOs, they are not. You're right, my bad. Was convinced I'd seen winter with different prices so I went and checked - turns out I probably had as the data fetching bug seems to hit them really hard :D
-
/rad is great. i'd put it close to bio and fire just based on my psy/rad scrap which wasn't even supposed to be a farmer. i've been planning to make a TW since i wasn't able to finish my tw/elec on live, but i'm now unsure whether to make it bio or rad. not as if i need another farming toon but it's not as if i needed the last 3 melee toons i've made either.
-
If that's the case you'd be better served merit farming. Any number of ways to get more than 40 merits (which is equivalent to 12 million not counting listing fees) in an hour. it'd be a lot more interesting even on boring content and you'd get drops/inf on top.
-
Just did 'forging the blackwand' on red and it's a quick 18. Can ghost it all apart from a 20 slag golem hunt which can be gotten on grey cons in the north of shark.
-
I keep waiting on the bottom to fall out but we're months into conversion strategies being posted in various places and apart from a few sets no longer being worth listing it's still amazingly lucrative if you can stand the tedium. Great summary guide Shinobu! New go-to link to post in help five or six times a day :D Oh one slight QoL tip to add - always move from last tray to first when converting and listing. That way if you pull an IO to market for a price check and aren't satisfied it'll go back to the slot it was in rather than to tray 1.

Mr. Vee replied to Alphabet Soup II's topic in The Market
Still sounds like you're doing something odd but I can't put my finger on it from what you've put. Essentially the 'right recipe ' is anything in the level range you're aiming for that only has one other (rare) set in its type at that level. There are plenty of those. Bid on everything in the set in blocks of 10, being careful not to get any of the sneaky ones with a rare salvage. When they fill buy your salvage in blocks of 10. I've been converting all 7 trays to rare in one session then converting/ listing one or two trays when I log in. I consistently send 1-200 million off to alts doing that daily. -
Superior ATO and winter aren't bucketed. It's hit or miss whether the difference is more than a catalyst but I'd imagine many would already have the regular slotted prior to 50 anyway.

Sister Psyche's Oro arc for stalkers... 50 Merits an hour.
Mr. Vee replied to Frostweaver's topic in Stalker
Oh it's definitely dull. Can add a bit of seasoning by turning up to x8 and killing all the frost demons for your demonic accolade, but still boring. -
I remembered it being 2 hours/30 mins as well. And even on live i didn't consider the 30 minutes worth all those kill alls on the rare occasions i used up the two hours before my build was set and i forgot i had it. For 5 minutes no chance. I run it once leveling for the 2 hour and my family kills for high pain accolade, then no tys.
-
OK so i should clarify. I sent him 50 million for temp powers at 1 then in the teens 500 million. After I finished buying everything at 50 he had 215 million left. I only used merits for boosters and catalysts. But I crafted and converted every uncommon drop in a garbage set up to the 30s, crafted/sold/converted resist/defense/pvp drops at any level, sold decent recipes, sold salvage, vendored everything else. And I bought things as I leveled and slots became available. So all tolled it's impossible to say exactly how much I spent, but assuming you're not deleting everything or keeping your inventory full because omgfarmsmorenao the amount you need from your farmer for an alt shouldn't be 6-800 million unless you're just refusing to let the alt make some of its own money for some reason.
-
If I were in that kind of hurry I'd just pl myself to 50. I enjoy running arcs, especially on redside. Now granted I do have 2xp turned on, but not in a super rush.
-
I'm usually good with mids but my plant/savage is only 30. Waiting til i get a feel for the late savage powers before doing a build. I'll try to remember to post when i do.

Sister Psyche's Oro arc for stalkers... 50 Merits an hour.
Mr. Vee replied to Frostweaver's topic in Stalker
Time to switch to Smoke and Mirrors for 12 merits in 10 minutes or so, prolly less with stalker. -
Not sure how 600-800 mill is for a decent build. I would consider a build just using uncommons as being decent and there's zero chance that hit 600 million. The scrap i just made with 3 superior winter sets, 3 purple sets, both superior ATO sets, 3 pvp resist IOs, 4 lotg 7.5% and every expensive unique didn't cost that much at buy it now pricing. Farming's a fine way to make money but it's hardly the easiest. Go look at the various market guides if you want easiest. I have a claws/fire brute who can do sub 6 minute 4/8/bosses runs of fire farms and I don't even bother as it's not nearly as easy as converting. I'd much rather log him in, convert a couple trays of IOs, collect the previous pile of cash and then go play my lowbies (who are already IOd as they level with as much expensive junk as they need thanks to him). And as to SwitchFade's notion of live purple costs being where we're headed with all the farming - remember that everything is practically hardcapped by the merit cost. We've still not even reached the price point where buying purples is the best use of merits.
-
Mid level...so i guess it's just me slotting them at 10 then?
-
I'll third claws/fire. Follow up can be consistently double stacked and spin recharges super quickly. I run a chain of follow up and spin with whichever of burn or dark obliteration is up at the moment. I throw in a shockwave with -kb IO in here and there. But it's a very versatile set with good single target for that last leftover boss or for running whatever else besides fire farms.

Mr. Vee replied to Alphabet Soup II's topic in The Market
If you're losing money doing the converting methods listed in various places you're doing something wrong somewhere. There are at least 4 things in Philotic Knight's method I disagree with and he's still making good money. -
If there were such sets you could, but there aren't. but say you for some reason wanted to slot e.g. adrenal adjustment which caps at 20. it'd keep its set bonuses down to level 17 even if you boosted it to 20+5. So if you never exemp below 27, e.g., you'd be better off +5ing a level 30 steadfast +defense than using attuned. and by better off i mean you'd get a tiny bonus to the resist component in it vs the attuned version. but min/maxer is min/maxer.
