I get SUCH bad scrapperlock when Feral Charging around. I sometimes feel bad because I'll pop in next to an enemy that is already engaged by a friendly, gunch it, and pop out before the ally has even gotten to move. I mean, Feral Charge + Vicious Slash will finish most anything off and you are in and out in under 3 seconds.

PURPLE side!
-
Good looking out. I thought I had those in there. I will do that, thanks!
-
Only UP? That is good to know. The descriptions are contradictory.
-
Oh, hugely, and I freely admit that. Debuffs and damage FTW
-
Ooohhhoohoohoo yeah it did. Looking forward to getting past all the holidays and to normal life.

So, I just made my first VEAT ever and I would love some feedback! I have to admit, it rocks even more than I was led to believe. I went mostly ranged, with a bit of control and a whole heckuva lot of defense. She is crazy versatile. Can't hit her. Can't hit her teammates. Soul Tentacles + Psionic Tornado makes a mini-hold, alpha-defuser. Not that she cares about an Alpha since they can't hit her. Full ranged AOE cycle with Soul Tent, Psi Torn, Psy Scream, Dark Oblit. Enough of a ST rotation to satisfy me. Dominate for any opponent smart enough to try to run. If they get too close, Follow Up, TK Blast, Dominate. Got a Widow buddy. Super sneaky with the Assemble the Team device. The thing for me is, I'm not really a "Defense" player. I much more like Resistance based Armors. Defense just makes me nervous because you never know when they are going to get in a lucky shot. I know a lot of people prefer defense armors over resistance, but it just drives up my anxiety. So, I went for as much bonus Resistance as I could on IO set bonuses, while still maximizing recharge. I don't know if I missed anything, though. Now, the real deal is, and all you veteran VEAT players know, she is a MONSTER on End. OMG. With all those toggles running? And then her attacks are pretty expensive, too. I spend half the fight converting Inspirations to blues. I just got her Cardiac Alpha up to T3, so I haven't done much testing with that, but hopefully it will help a lot, and I'll get it up to T4 soon. So, any recommendations are greatly appreciated! Why in the world would you want to pull a melee attack from a power pool when you have the awesome Savage attacks to choose from??? You have Maiming Slash, Vicious Slash, Rending Fury, and Feral Charge. That is plenty. With perma-hasten-dom levels of recharge, you should be able to roll through that continuously, with no downtime. Then you can always sprinkle in Entangle for ST or Roots for AOE more damage, if you need any filler. Going out to some Pool attack is just going to lower your effectiveness. Also, this this THIS! THIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I have a Dark/Savage who pretty much does this exact thing and it is freaking amazing. And, I don't mean normal amazing, like ridiculous amazing. I have the recharge down to a bit under 3 seconds, and I might try to get it even lower. She bops around the field like Nightcrawler on speed. I beat most of the meleers to targets and generally take down a white with just a Vicious Slash. In smaller fights, I almost forget to do any controllering. And that ability to quickly float up out of melee range to drop a control or whatever is just sweeeet.
-
Even with that, the kill-speed is still significantly slower than my grav/storm.
-
I was just saying over in the tankers forum about how the art of teaming has been lost. Partly because the game is so easy now, and partly because of the combination of red and blue side ATs. Nowadays it is mostly just smash and grab. On the other hand, while you correctly mention that it does slow down kill-rate, even with that consideration, current kill-rate is still faster than during live thanks to all the power creep.
-
The entire art of teaming has been lost. Both due to power creep and due to the soloist red-side ATs being combined in with the team-focused blue-side. Also, old-school herding was already outdated way before close.

Value of CoH IP if someone want to acquire it
VV replied to Heliopause's topic in General Discussion
You'd be more likely to be able to buy NCSoft directly, than the COX IP individually. Besides, at this point, why would you even want to buy it? The code is safe in the wild. We (the fans) can keep it up for as long as we like. We can make any changes to it we like. At this point, having NCSoft just continue their stupidity is kind of the best thing for us. There would be no actual benefit to owning the IP, either to the owner or to the community. On the other hand, if your friend does have a bunch of money that he or she needs to get rid of, I can help guide you to a very deserving charity that, if nothing else, would provide your friend with a good tax write-off (as well as the awesome feeling of doing good). -
Hey, if we are giving shout outs here, I'd like to shout out Eda for running MSRs on Indom every fekking night where all are welcome (I've done it on as low as a 2nd level) as long as they participate, and mooching is not slightly tolerated. And Cultivated Darkness for his incredibly patient iTrial marathons practically every night. I don't know how long it took anyone else to learn Keyes, but I can say for me, it was more than a few times, and some of those early times I really fucked up. We do have a great community here!

This is not helpful to me and completely unrelated to my question. Also not an answer to the question. I am looking for an SG that LIKES tossing things all over heck-and-gone. Yes, I'm quite capable of playing/building around knockback powers, but that isn't what I asked.
-
So, if you have a Grav/EA Dom and you pop Power Up, will it increase the magnitude of the Teleport on Wormhole?
-
Wondering if there are any Knockback-friendly SGs on any of the HC shards/servers? Knockback-positive would be even better. I kind of want to build a pepsi-popper and really slot it up for knockback, but I don't want to be the jerk on the teams throwing opponents out of everyone's range. Don't really care which shard it is in as I've got characters on all the shards, just looking for a group of people who love to drop kick opponents across the map. My in-game handle is @V.V

Ran Baby New Year solo last night on +4/x8 with my BR/TA Blaster (with no Incarnates) without much trouble. Also ran it on my Grav/Storm Controller. Also ran it on my Fire/Fire Tanker. All of them pretty much steamrolled it. I guess what I'm saying is that there is no single right answer here.

I wanted to smack things with very large things, so I took Titan Weapons. Not sure why I chose Rad armor, but Rad is pretty good in all the other sets, so I figured it would be here. Ran it up to 50 and was doing some test runs before spending all the Inf on Purples and such. I ended up retiring it because it was about as durable a wet napkin and hit as hard. Like I said, it wasn't purpled, but it was filled out with rare IO sets, so it wasn't in terrible shape. I have let it sit for a while, but I really want to run around smacking stuff with a big stick, so I am hoping to revitalize her,. Also, I have seen everyone talking about how awesome the TW set is, so I figure I must have been doing something wrong. My goal here is to hit stuff really hard and have it crumble before me. I am not looking to be a brutank, to take the place of a tank, but I would like to be able to stand up to at least a moderately hard hit. I have roughed out a build in Mids. Any recommendations on the build and on tactics for playing TW and Rad would be greatly appreciated. Long-time fan of Controllers. Controller is one of my 2 mains. Controller was my first 50. I've always said that Controller is one of my favorite ATs (I might have control issues). And, I always argued with people who claimed controllers are slow killers. I'm like, no way, mine rips through stuff. But, now I realized why I mistakenly believed that. When I say I love Controllers, I actually meant, I love A Controller. My Grav/Storm. After reading much in these forums, I now realize it is one of the top damage combos in the AT, so my experience is skewed. I did not choose it because of that, I just liked the powers and the combo. So, I recently started a Plant/Kin. It's like 30-ish now and I get it. I mean, it's great. Lots of nice buffs, debuffs, and controls. Fun animations and special effects. Nice and safe for soloing. Great on a team. But, holy cow, it takes foreeeeeeeeeeever to kill anything. If I can manage a few stacks of Siphon Power, it speeds up the kill-rate to medium-slow, but that takes a bit to build up, and can be tough to maintain. It is great fun to play, and I don't plan on retiring it, but thank goodness I made it on the server with the all-plant SG, so I'll have plenty of teammates. I learned my lesson, now. I will never gloat about Controller kill-speed again! On the other hand, I am only a few levels from Fulcrum Shift, so we'll see if I change my mind again.

Anybody have good suggestions on good Lores that help Fire Farming. I originally took the Polar Lights just for the fun of it. But, they die almost the second I bring them out. I have noticed they are very squishy in most content, as well. Any thoughts on a good replacement?

It's funny, much as we hated dying 3 times trying to get to a mission in south Atlas Park, it was still kind of funny. And you could get some sort of perverse pleasure from just making it to the mission. Made for funny stories, once the pain wore off.
