I'm looking for something that plays like a scraptroller. Basically always in melee. Melee attacks backed up by just enough control to keep from getting shanked.
  3. I mean, Grav is already too OP to need any improvements

  6. Howdy Dominators, I need some assistance on a new build. This is a bird-person concept, controls with talon attacks. It was supposed to be Wind/Savage, but since we don't have that around these parts, I went with Dark/Savage. I colored the "Dark" powers white/grey and it is actually pretty cool. So, combat-wise, the idea is to get some controls down, then close to melee for the messy part. I'm not so much worried about locking things down forever, just long enough to shred them up. So, I pretty much skipped all the ranged powers in the secondary. My basic chain is open with Fearsome Stare to slow the alpha, pop in with Feral Charge, hit them with Heart of Darkness, splat the field with Rending Flurry, then clean up as needs be. Here is the first draft. Also, cost is not an issue. 7. My D/S is up to 41 now. Got Feral Charge at 38 and it is literally life-changing. /Savage is just an insane secondary in terms of Dom playstyle.
  8. I have a Grav/Storm, so I totally get that. I like the idea of /Nature, just because that's a cool theme. I do not have any buff-y types of characters, so I was thinking maybe Earth/Kin. Kin also to help buff my own mediocre damage.
  9. VV

    Grav/Energy

Man, you all are getting WAY more out of Domination than I am! I mean, it is nice. Makes you mostly immune to KB, that's my favorite part. Cranks up the power of your mezzes, but they are mostly good enough even without it. Gives you a bit more damage, but nothing ridiculous. I mean, it's a nice buff, but you guys talk like it turns you into an immortal killing machine. What am I missing here that makes it so gawdlike?
  10. Mids Reborn says Mag 4, which is pretty sweet.
  11. Hm, makes me want to make an Earth Troller. What goes good with Earth?
  12. Hi everyone, a while back, I put together a character to use when I want to just solo for a little (WM/Nin Scrap). I ended up deciding to do all of the story arcs in the Shadow Shard. I've never done any of them, just the TFs. Easy enough to start, your first contact is right out of the boom tube. But, I've been doing them for a while, now, and it seems like I just keep doing the same ones over and over. Can anyone direct me to the non-repeatable stories/contacts? I tried the ParagonWiki, and made a note of the various contacts, but I can't tell which ones are just repeatables and which are not.
  13. Just checked in game and Feral Charge does take Melee Damage sets. But, it definitely hits multiple targets. It is described as single target in the description, but it is not. Very weird. Mids claims it takes PBAOE sets, but it does not.
  14. So wait, am I reading Mid's right? When you slot Drain Psyche for Heal/Absorb, it also increases the amount of -Regen it applies to the enemies?
  15. Sure, that makes sense. Maybe just time to take a CoH break and try some other games.
  16. I've been using IOs since they dropped and this is generally how I do it, as well. Depending on the build/AT, I may rearrange priorities on numbers 1 and 2. For tankers, I focus def/res first, for most everything else, I focus recharge first.
  17. Have you really done all the content??? I mean, there's still quite a few of the original storylines I have not done. I wish I had your kinda playtime, man.
  18. Oh you might be right. Maybe I'm thinking of that one from the Leaping Pool.
  19. Here is a bind tip you help you use Feral Charge. Personally, I find teleport a huge pain because you have to click the target location with your mouse. During combat, I can hardly find the mouse most of the time. So, I came up with this bind You select your target normally, probably already have it from previous attacks, the press the Number Pad 0 key and BAM, you should up next to him. I have tested this with Teleport and it works *most* (not all) of the time. If it does not activate, it may mean you are out of range. Or, it could just be something weird, in which case pressing it again usually works. Of course, you can substitute the key of your choice for the numpad0. Happy Hunting!
  20. Borrowed this chart from the Savage thread because the popularity of Psionic Assault really surprised me. I have a Mind/Psi/Soul at 50. I took /Psi because of theme, obviously, but I don't really see the awesomeness of it. I mean, It's okayyyyyy, but does not feel particularly OP enough to warrant being the favorite by a large margin. This probably means I am playing and slotting it wrong. I am missing something. Any tips on good slotting, power choices and attack chains would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  21. VV

    Area Slow Master

I love this idea. I feel like slows are one of the most powerful mitigation/control in the game because few things are immune to them and targets cannot "break out" of them.
  22. I agree, O2 Boost seems a bit lackluster, but after playing a Grav/Storm for a long time, I take it, anyway. The thing is, G/S is a control/mitigation monster, so, generally, you should not need a heal, but there is always that odd yahoo who gets themselves in real trouble. I have saved so many teammates with an application or two of O2. By giving them a few more HP, it gives me a second to manage whatever mess they got themselves into (usually with Tornado or Lightning Storm). It can also be nice to have when your tank is on a big boss that is resistant to your mitigation. Then again, with Grav/Storm, you can have a whole passel of powers that are rarely used but critical when needed. I often ignore Gravity Distortion Field because it has such a long recharge and does no damage. Then, when stuff goes south, I have a powerful AOE hold handy. Same with Tornado and Lightning Storm. They generally only come out in dire situations and against bosses. O2 Boost falls under that category, things that you normally do not need, but come in reaaaaaaaally handy in emergencies.
  23. So, I changed up my slotting on Singularity. I now have 4 of the Expedient Reinforcement, not including the Resist Aura, to get that recharge bonus. And then a Explosive Strike Chance for Smashing Damage. Nothing wrong with a bit more damage. I do not slot Singy for KB>KD. It really only flings opponents away if they get too close, in which case I want them flung away. And it only flings one at a time. I don't stand close to the meleers, so it has little impact on them.
  24. Funny, I asked almost the exact same question over in the Dom forums. I ended up not taking it. I mean, for soloing it seems like it could be okay. Grab up 5 folks and take them out before they got too far away. But, there are so many other good things to take that it just seems so skippable.
