  1. Exactly this. If a power has little to no merit of its own it shouldn't be a power people are forced to take in order to get a power they do want. There are so many good T3-T5 pool powers that most people never get to take because allocating multiple slots for useless or substandard prerequisites simply isn't viable for most builds. This is a prime example of Jack's twisted sense of "balance" that only detracts from the enjoyment of the game, not enhance it (right up there with his believing dying a lot is fun). Had the prerequisites never existed no one in their right mind would be advocating for them now -- we would all be enjoying greater build diversity and not being saddled with useless powers we don't want and will never use. If the best answer one can provide as to why the prerequisite should be there is "because I think it should be", sorry, that's not a good enough reason.
  2. Not that I'm aware of. And the AV setting just controls whether it's an AV or EB. I'm just getting regular bosses. Has it always been this way? Because I remember getting AVs fairly regularly on bank missions, like more often than not.
  3. There is nothing noble about having to waste a power slot to get other powers you want. The whole "bUt iT wIlL cAuSe pOweR cReEp!!!" is nonsense. There's a reason why the prerequisites were removed from travel powers, their availability was lowered, and Fitness was made inherent. These were always poor design decisions. And honestly, this game has a LOT of them. And yeah, I am fully in support of removing the T1/T2 prerequisites on all the pools. There's just no legitimate reason for it to exist, other than "well it's always been like that". Let me take the powers I want and stop forcing me to take powers I don't want. It's a pretty simple concept.
  4. It's "Experimental Graphics Settings", the very last entry in the Advanced Graphics Settings window, right above Audio.
  5. Not all Blast sets have nukes.
  6. Yeah, there's gonna be a LOT of people who claim their character can easily solo steamroll +4/x8 and honestly most of them are lying.
  7. There's a Thundarr the Barbarian clone running around Excelsior. I often see him chilling around Ms. Liberty. Now there's a show that I would absolutely love to see rebooted. Kinda shocked it hasn't been done yet.
  8. The only place I see people beg for badges is DFB. Honestly, most of the time I really don't care one way or the other unless I'm working towards an accolade power. And even then I'm more likely to do it on my own to ensure someone else doesn't somehow frak it up on me.
  9. I've done about a dozen safeguard missions the past few weeks, mostly in PI, all with a full team, and not a single one of them has spawned an AV. Did something break? IIRC we're not guaranteed to get an AV, but I feel like they showed up more often than not. Anyone else noticing this?
  10. My guess, and it's just a guess, is that because auras are part of the costume system they are fundamentally different than power VFX. This means the second color has to be transparent, leaving only one color for us to customize. It's the same reason things like "Tops With Skin" only gets one customizable color -- the 2nd color needs to be transparent to allow the skin to show thru.
  11. Try verifying files and making sure you have the latest drivers for your video card.
  12. File a support ticket.
  13. I'd be happy if the stances actually worked with travel powers as indicated.
  14. If you take Master Brawler you can't take Practiced Brawler, which is the set's mez protection.
  15. I've said this before in other threads and it's worth repeating -- if a team is already steamrolling thru mobs you don't need to pull every trick out of your bag. If critters are dead before you can cast Storm Cell, then you don't need to be using it. It's not going to contribute in any meaningful way. So why wring your hands about it? It's not all that dissimilar to debuff sets. If you're on a fast-moving team there's no need to drop every debuff you have. You put out the fastest/most effective one and move on. It doesn't mean sets like Trick Arrow are ineffective or broken.
  16. That was my first thought, but dunno for sure.
  17. Going Rogue I know for sure included an engine update. Not sure about CoV.
  18. As if Snarky needs supplements
  19. I know quite a few children who were genuinely terrified when Ursula went all kaiju at the end.
  20. Willpower is a great set on any AT, but I think it works better on a Brute or Tank than a Scrapper.
  21. Saying you like the set and then detailing all the ways in which it's "not good", "poor", and "fails" isn't the flex you think it is.
  22. Odd, considering how many people here are getting unnecessarily defensive about being called out for their incorrect insistence that it's a shit set. I mean, if you think it's shit and don't like it just don't play it. No need to make thread after thread and post after post about how bad you think it is. Seems like an unhealthy obsession to me.
  23. But that's the moral of the story, to not do that, and for God's sake don't ever make a deal with a Sea Witch! There are other ways to achieve your goals without having to sacrifice your soul. In the HCA original she didn't get a happy ending. But of course the Disney versions are different.
