As someone who got dragged into square dancing by an ex I can say this is completely legit. Tho I found gay male square dancing to be far more enjoyable than geriatric square dancing.

Dominators don't shine until you have permadom, so make +recharge your #1 priority. Not sure I agree with not taking the melee attacks, they are by far your hardest hitting attacks. And since so many of the powers in Dark and Soul are PbAoE and you have to be in melee range anyway. IMO Mass Hypnosis is a waste and easily skippable. Telekinesis is a bit of an oddball power that takes a lot of practice to use well and not piss off the team (think Hurricane). But once you get the hang of it it's amazing. As a Dom you can skip the single target Confuse and Mesmerize (tho the latter is fine to take for the flavor of being a mind-controlling vampire). Terrify is a another iffy power for a Dom. You have other powers that deal damage and fear is of questionable value if you have a ton of AoE attacks. Even if you wouldn't normally slot Life Drain for healing on other ATs, do it here, as it's the only damage recovery power in your kit. Just my 2 INF.

Well yes, but that's not what was asked for, as it's not guaranteed to re-target the same critter you were targeting before. But it would be as close as you can get. Pretty sure you can leave out the "+$$target_enemy_near$$". The + is what makes it activate on the downstroke.

One thought, the new laptop is likely using a faster WiFi protocol than your old Mac, which could make the connection unstable at a distance. Try playing the game very close to the router to rule out distance as an issue. You could also try connecting at a slower speed/lower protocol, see if that helps, e.g. 2.4 GHz instead of 5 GHz.

No matter what you do you're gonna lose the target. Your bot needs to be targeted in order to cast a buff on it. There is no way around this.

Yeah I was on a shitty PUG yesterday. I finally just had to leave, I couldn't take it anymore. This usually isn't the norm for me, but it does really suck when it's happens. And I wish I could blame it on the lead, but it was easily half the team, doing their damnedest to not even attempt to work together and making things 10x harder than they needed to be.

I'm on an ultrawide and the cutscenes are always cut off on the tops and bottoms due to the forced letterboxing.

I'm also a gay man of an older generation when queer was absolutely a slur, I fully support removing the word from the profanity filter. But this absolutely should not give license for people to use it pejoratively in the game.

I find Infinitum's builds are a good starting point. He has a Shield/Axe Tank, with a few tweaks it should work fine for a Brute.

The ignore function is the one and only thing that makes this forum tolerable for me. Without it I would have bailed a long time ago.

Move your mouse over someone's name and in the lower right of the popup is Ignore. Click on it and then you can choose how extensively you want to ignore them. If people didn't constantly post idiotic gibberish and/or act like 5-year olds we wouldn't need an extensive ignore feature. But they do, so here we are. 🤷‍♂️

If there's a network issue between you and the server there is nothing you can do about it. One thing you can try is playing on the Reunion shard as that's a different server than the others. You don't mention what kind of connection you're using, but if it's WiFi you should try a wired connection, see if that helps. You can also try connecting your PC directly to your modem (if you have a separate one) to rule out issues with your router. If all else fails definitely call your ISP and have them send a tech out to test the lines.

Yes, I'm aware of why they were changed to AoE. But the point stands that at the time they could have been made to also affect the caster and purposefully weren't.

Ran into a blatant clone last night. Kindly let him know via PM that creating copyrighted characters was against the rules and he needed to change his costume before someone reports him. And that someone was me. 😂 No idea if he actually changed the costume/name or not. I lost track of him. But no doubt he's gonna log back in to GenericHero239482 if he didn't.

My suggestion was only to remove the "doesn't apply to caster" flag on AoE buffs. There is nothing in Empathy that fits this description. All the AoE buffs in Empathy already work on the caster. The list of powers that are flagged this way is very short -- FF bubbles, Cold/Thermal/Sonic shields, Speed Boost, and Increase Density. And none of them stack from the same caster (usually), so that's not an issue either. Considering the vast majority of buffs in Defender sets do affect the caster it feels like this very short list is a legacy holdover from a time when the live devs enjoyed making sure squishies died, a lot. I think it warrants a look at least. Allowing us to target ourselves directly would require a revision to the game engine. I'm not even sure it's possible and don't even want to think about what could break if they attempted to do so. It's a horrible idea. But unchecking a flag in the database for 10 powers? Easy peasy. Any balance adjustments that may be needed would be addressed in testing. Whether or not a Kin has end problems really depends upon their other set. Some are far more endurance heavy than others. And yeah, Transference might eliminate most of the value of the +recovery in Speed Boost (I for one prefer to have too much endurance instead of not enough considering the amount of -recovery and end drain in game), but if everyone else on your team is getting it why can't you? That is to say, if it's not overpowering to give it to your whole team with one cast surely it can't be overpowering to give it to yourself at the same time.

Stalkers don't get it either. I forget the exact reason but IIRC it's by design.

Siphon Speed requires a critter and a tohit check and doesn't give the +recovery or slow resistance that Speed Boost does. Giving the player a moderate +recovery boost, some smashing/energy resistance, and some mez resistance/protection is not a huge deal and won't suddenly make them godly, especially since they can't be self-stacked, and that other sets like Electric and FF get similar abilities. And of course TA wouldn't benefit as it has no team buffing abilities. I'm not sure why you would even bring this up.
