  1. Kids today. Back in my day we spammed Gale from level 1-50 uphill, both ways, and were happy for it.
  2. You can't call a different model but I think you can replace the costume pieces. But it would replace them everywhere in-game where the original pieces exist, not just on your pets.
  3. But not angry enough to make it a priority to at least log her in once a year. 👌
  4. Help me out here: why do you care about a character you don't ever play? You care SO MUCH about these characters you never ever play them, and are willing to die on this hill over a policy that *might* one day take their names, but can't be half-assed to at least log them in once a year. And what makes you think name hoarders don't actively play at least one of their characters while sitting on hundreds of characters at level 1? Make it make sense. This horse has been beaten to death and I'm tired of repeating myself.
  5. And on this we will forever disagree. Look, I get where you're coming from. But I simply do not agree with you, for all the reasons I've already outlined. I'm gonna leave it at that.
  6. I did and you didn't. Neither did you explain how it would negatively affect your enjoyment of the game if the name of a character you never ever play was taken away from you.
  7. Because as I stated previously, it's not about whether your account is in use. It's about the characters. Why do you think you should be able to indefinitely hold a name on a character you don't ever play? Asking you to log in a character at least once a year isn't much of an ask. If you can't spare under a minute that character clearly isn't that important to you.
  8. And I'll counter this with: if you never ever play them why do you care what their name is? It won't change your global name, it won't change your SG status. And it won't rewrite the bio no one gets to see because they're never logged in. Are you somehow better off in any appreciable way by holding onto this name? Like, why would you want to deny someone else the pleasure of using a name you admittedly don't ever use? I don't get it.
  9. I disagree. It's not about whether a player is active or not. It's about characters, as those are the things that hold names. If you're an active player you shouldn't have any issues taking the time to at least log in a character whose name is flagged for release. I mean, it's not complicated nor difficult. It literally takes under a minute per character. The only time it becomes complicated or difficult is if you're someone who's camping on hundreds (or even thousands) of names and have no any intention of ever actually playing any of them. If you have characters you haven't played in over a year they obviously aren't all that important to you. So why do you care that the name might be taken from characters you don't care about and never play? I really do not understand this mentality.
  10. I'm kind on the fence on this. I mean, I don't see the devs ever going down the road of "we'll exempt played level 50 but not PLd level 50s", but I'm not sure I'm necessarily against the idea. I know play time data is logged, and I guess one could establish a threshold for what would be considered a PLd character (1-50 in under X number of hours) but I'm not sure play time data is easily accessible nor if it's a needed solution to what is really a narrow set of circumstances.
  11. No one is advocating for immediate release. No one. I don't even know why you went there. And no, not by account. If you have a character you haven't played in over a year why do you think you should be able to keep the name simply because you asked for it first? If that character and their name is sooooo important to you you should be able to at least log them in once in awhile. I mean, the bar here is VERY low. Personally I think, like others here, that level 50s shouldn't be immune from name release. All it's gonna do is prompt name hoarders to PL all their characters to 50. There is nothing they can do that's going to please everyone.
  12. I don't pretend to understand all the math going on behind the scenes. But what I do know is that my (nearly) unkillable lvl 50 tank is just as unkillable when I exemplar down, even to the lowest tier. Far more sturdy than a tank of that natural level. 🤷‍♂️
  13. Or just play at -1/0 and not worry so much about it? How difficult can it be?
  14. Does putting in SOs of the level that you exemplar down to work? Never tried it.
  15. EnchanceComplete.ogg, under FrontEnd
  16. Now you're just arguing for argument's sake and using circular logic to try and prove that Regen doesn't suck, despite every possible benchmark standard and test methodology available to us saying it does. Believe whatever you want.
  17. I haven't had too much trouble getting names I want, tho there are a few that sting not being able to get that I had back on live. I do also rely heavily on the swapping of i and l to get certain names. I'm pretty sure I started on Homecoming day 1 (or close to it) so I'm certain to have a lot of names that would go quickly if they were ever released. Which they won't be. 😂
  18. Depending on his hardware there might be a "color deficiency" mode available in the GPU driver. I know AMD has this on Radeon cards. I believe ReShade has a few color deficiency filters too. Might be worth looking into. Windows also has a "color filters" mode for CD, but I don't know if it works in games or not.
  19. And it's not like anyone is going to know they're taking a released name. Names come up as either available or not. You don't lose a name until someone else tries to use it.
  20. It is not in any way an exaggeration, sadly.
  21. No, the fallacy is that just because you can stack pool powers and have a billion INF worth of set IOs and be godly doesn't mean the underlying set is actually good. You've just filled in all the holes. And Regen has a LOT of holes. The baseline for this game has always been even level SOs (a discussion for another time). So if you want to compare the efficacy of one protection set to another this is how you do it with comparable builds (if you're gonna have Tough/Weave + Shadow Meld on one then you must have it on another, or not have it at all). This allows you to see the relative strengths and weaknesses of each set. WP excels in comparison to Regen because it has layered protection; a bit of +regen, +resistance, and +defense. Also +maxhp and -tohit, all in auto powers or toggles. Regen is a one-trick pony -- +regen. Sure, you get a tiny amount of resistance and a long recharge +maxhp power and heal, and that's it. And even then, your 2 best powers, Instant Healing and MoG are long recharge clicks, with MoG lasting all of 15 seconds. No auto or toggle absorption, healing, +maxhp, or defense. Shield is considered one of the best protection sets in the game. It's far superior to Regen for all the same reasons WP is superior, layered protection and debuffs. I will admit SR is also a one-trick pony, but it has a few nice touches that puts it above Regen. Firstly it has the best type of protection in the game, defense. It does get a small amount of resistance like Regen, but unlike Regen it scales up as your HPs go down. And it has a significant amount of resistance to defense debuffs. Regen gets a small amount of debuff resistance in Fast Healing, but it's not enough, especially considering how many critters can floor your regeneration in one hit. But honestly, I would put SR near the bottom just one step above Regen. It's not a great set either. But if you take Shadow Meld and add a ton of +defense IO sets you won't need a self heal in Willpower. And if WP is deficient enough to have a revive power then Regen must be just as bad since it has one too.
  22. Yeah, if I click yes to "fix" it everything seems fine, but I don't know if anything is missing or lost.
  23. And that's exactly what will happen. The policy applies to everyone. If someone takes a name that was released and they don't play the character the name gets released again.
