please Re Vamp Blaster Dark Mastery
Captain Fabulous replied to Snarky's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I really do not understand the logic behind making pool powers so useless. Low damage, low stats, ridiculously high recharge and end costs, and locked behind tier walls. There's a lot of potentially good powers in there, but ultimately nearly all are simply not worth taking other than for flavor at the expense of effectiveness. Imagine the kind of build diversity we could have if they were actually worth taking and didn't require wasting power slots on stuff we don't want/need just to get to the useful ones. -

What is Meant by "Weak" or "Underperforming" Powersets?

Ah, I got it. Apologies. So when they reinstated the event in i27 they pulled the temp power and restored KR to a cap of 50?
-
-
Can I haz ur stuff?
-
IIRC the Paladin event is bugged and only awards the temp power the first time it's completed after the zone spins up, e.g. after maintenance or a server reboot. This is why KR has a zone cap of 20, making it easy to spawn KR 2+ to try and get it.

When exactly does an NPC stop giving me missions?
Captain Fabulous replied to MikeSol's topic in General Discussion
Until you've run thru their story arc and optional missions or you outlevel them. If you have an active story arc, as indicated by the little book icon, they will continue giving you the rest of the arc even if you've outleveled it. -
Once again I feel I need to remind people that allowing us to engage with them and give them feedback is a privilege, not a right. The dev team is under no obligation to do so. And the more and more this privilege is abused, the more and more likely it's going to at some point be heavily curtailed or even rescinded entirely. And then y'all will really be screaming into the void with not a single soul listening. Just keep this in mind the next time you're about to say something dickish in response to new content.

Currently using DDR4. 😉

IIRC that command clears everything but macros.
-
Unfortunately there are no slash commands I'm aware of that will delete a macro. If you can't right click it and delete it my only suggestion is to open a support ticket and hopefully a GM or dev can either remove or repair it.

Excellent, glad you finally got it up and running!

I suggested he enable it and install the correct drivers but he either missed it or ignored it.

He disabled the AMD chip, which is why it's running the basic Microsoft driver with no OpenGL support.

We need No FX options everywhere.
Captain Fabulous replied to Tsuko's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Not to pile on the necro thread, but IMHO what we need are multiple client-side sliders that reduce different kinds of particle effects instead of all, e.g., one for our own VFX, one for other's VFX (including those on us), one for environmental effects, etc. And allow the sliders to go to 0. Not only would this give us so much more control than a simple binary option in the character creator, I think it would be far easier to implement since it's client-side only. Short of any changes your best bets are to set color options to black/black, reduce particle effects for everything, and/or use one of the reduced VFX mods. -
Another thing you can try is going to System > Display > Graphics in Windows, add City of Heroes to the list and select High Performance. It *should* list your Nvidia card when you click Options.

Windows has gotten a lot better at picking the correct drivers, but yes it's always a good idea to get drivers from the source, not Microsoft. Laptops make it even more complicated, because often the drivers you get from AMD or Nvidia will break some functionality on a laptop. So for laptops your best bet is to get drivers from the laptop manufacturer rather than AMD or Nvidia. They may not have the most up-to-date drivers compared to what you could get from AMD or Nvidia, but drivers from the laptop manufacturer are what you should use to reduce the risk of something not working right.

That is says "Microsoft Display Driver" means your laptop is defaulting to a basic driver, not an AMD or Nvidia driver, which is why you're getting the error. I would enable the internal AMD video adapter and ensure you have the most recent drivers installed.

Here's the bind file I use. Use the /loadbindfile command to activate it. The list of attributes you can use is here: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Monitorattribute_(Slash_Command) If you already have the window active you need to stop displaying it before using the bind. I couldn't find a text command to do that, so you'll have to do it manually. combatmonitor.txt

As others have stated, this is the point of resistances, defense, controls, and debuffs -- to reduce incoming damage to manageable levels. Not all characters are going to have an easy time soloing due to a lack of damage mitigation. It's just how it goes sometimes. It doesn't mean anything is broken or needs to be fixed.

What is Meant by "Weak" or "Underperforming" Powersets?
Captain Fabulous replied to Waljoricar's topic in General Discussion
If a set is fun to play I don't care so much if it's "underperforming" or not. For me it only becomes an issue when soloing, which I rarely do. The only exception to this is Regen. That one just sucks no matter what you're doing.
