  1. Newspaper missions would be the 'zone' missions that you get from talking to your police Detective contact in each zone. You do 3 'newspaper' missions to unlock a Safeguard mission (usually a bank robbery?) that you talk to the Detective for. Happens in each zone beyond the starter Atlas/Mercy zone. Villain side you pick those up from contacts like Mikey the Ear and Drea the Hook in Port Oakes. (Edit: to clarify, you get a Newspaper 'contact' on zones in Villain side, and a Police Radio contact on hero zones, after you talk to the detective/fence in that zone) I'm not sure about boss/IO mission you refer to, but it sounds like you are talking about the Merit Reward vendor. You earn Merit Rewards for completing many story/Hero arcs, and use the Merit rewards to buy various things, among them things like recipes, IOs, Enhancement Converters etc. In the lower level zones (KR, Steel Canyon, Skyway, and Faultine) it only requires 3 Radio/Newspaper Missions to get the Safeguard/Mayhem mission. All others require 5 missions... I feel like I should know the name of the TF you are mentioning, but it's not coming to me... Here's a list of all the TF's (except one). The changes to that list are all TF's can be soloed now, and all merit rewards have been raised. The missing TF is the Market Crash TF in Kallista Wharf (it's the one that Homecoming built). That one gives a purple recipe the first time you run it. You can skim the list and see that some of the TF have special awards, like Ms. Liberty TF which gives Synthetic Hami-O. Here's a similar list of trials in the game. Nothing is missing, but the same changes as above (soloable, and higher merit rewards). DFB offers not merit rewards, but gives low level SO's and a temp power that boosts either defense, damage, accuracy, or resistance.
  2. +4/x8 with AVs is still a gross simplification of difficulty. +4/x8 Council is a completely different level of challenge from +4/8 Carnies or +4/x8 Vanguard. When we start to have builds that can solo anything at +4/8 (i.e. Superman levels of power), then it's probably time to start looking at maybe nerfing things, but right now we're actually looking at builds that can solo some enemy groups and AVs at +4/8 which is more corresponding to something like Hulk: ridiculously powerful and not unique in their level of power, but not omnipotent. All of this goes to say that having dozens of heroes in Paragon City able to solo at +4/x8 is ok and consistent with most superhero universes, and we haven't yet crossed the line where we have even one player controller Superman running around. I appreciate how you framed this, and for that, +1 Inf. And I agree that some villain groups are going to be harder than other groups...My point is more the Archvillains, more so than the +4/x8 (although I still feel strongly about that, it's less important to me). Now the solution doesn't have to be nerfing anything. Just up the AV's strength/powers/defenses etc... Again with Superman...if even Superman needs help against his biggest arch-villains, why shouldn't our characters...that's what's most consistent with Superhero Universes. There is a ton of content that doesn't have AV's in it...where the hero single handedly saves the day (well with the help of their contacts at least). But for the biggest of the bads...you should need help...
  3. EDIT: Forgot to actually add a post...yikes...there goes another marble of mine rolling away... I don't feel I need to be penalized for wanting a challenge...It's really easy to just say - well if you don't like something, just don't do it...but that will always depend on context and goals. I like the progression of low level hero surviving with whatever training or dual origins I get as drops, to going to creating standard IO's for all my powers, to crafting sets...That part is fun. What I don't like is when anybody who has a maxed build can solo whatever AV they want, and barring hitting a bad run of luck, will usually prevail. Then the game has no challenge anymore. And just gimping myself to solve the problem shouldn't be the answer. The game was always designed around having to team up to take on the toughest content, and that mechanic should still be present in the game. I don't mean this as an insult (in fact, I'm enjoying talking this out - helps to clarify what this all really means to me), but this last post I quote was kinda all over the map...Are you in part saying that incarnate content is the content you can't solo?
  4. Huge +1 for this. Until then, the ever brilliant Rylas had this workaround in a different thread
  5. That command is specifically to leave a mission once completed.
  6. I’ve been on many teams with many tanks, and I have always asked if the KB was causing issues, and I have yet to hear a complaint. KB, when used correctly can be an ally to the tank...point the mob in his direction, and then he can aggro it, pick off the boss from the tank, that much less damage he has to take. And I have noticed on many teams that one or two or five mobs break away from the tank and go after me or someone else squishy, you know they love KB since the tank couldn’t hold everybody
  7. Does this mean we can't play together? I made her a seperate game account but due to work I haven't been on as much as I want to be so I haven't been able to check that out yet. I actually played right until the end but maybe because it was ending I just didn't pay attention to what they added at the end. Kinda nice actually because it is like a bonus to me. We have two personal computers at home and my son and I love to play together. But I also play when he either not around or asleep. We or I would love to team up!
  8. Welcome to Paragon City, “We judge you not by your race, creed, religion, gender, or disability, rather we critique you by your Archetype, Build, Witty Banter, and Forum Posts” Just kidding mostly, we seriously welcome you!
  9. It's just one example set. Might be what the OP meant...but he said "Custom Set" and provided the stats on one set...I saw no use of the plural... That being said, I'm sure other folks could create some additional sets modeled after his one custom set... Example Custom Set - Earth Warden Is what it says in the OP. Sheesh...you win alright...I still only see one set...I am assuming that other bright minds can come up with more. Rather than jumping all over me, do you have ideas to improve set(s).
  10. I am super mad about this thread...I came here expecting see what happens when Col Duray and the Countess really get that special connection, and later their child starts his own crime organization by age 5 and you have to defeat him, but can't use powers (because he's a kid, man), so you use parenting techniques like taking away things, and counting to 3, and see if you can finally get him to a temper tantrum that you have to use 8 purples to survive, but then he's tired and falls asleep - you win! This thread is just a letdown (/end sarcasm)
  11. Justicebowler (we could form a "Just us Society, wait...stupid DC comics making spend all my money and making teams with "Justice" in the name feel like a knockoff) I love this post...for several reasons... 1.) You are suggesting a style of play and how to do it...I'm all in btw - we really do need to team up 2.) You are making all this style, "Self Select", it doesn't ask anyone who wants to play any different have to do so 3.) It requires ZERO dev time I've been running a character thru ALL the content and all the badges...Every bit...He's been at this for over a week now and is just lvl 9 (I spend most of my time with XP off). I've been mostly soloing, but just ran Wincott/Flux missions with a team yesterday. I'm planning to do the final radio mission in KR and then Safeguard mission for Atlas. I also need to finish Meg Mason's inexhaustible amount of hollows content before lvl 10, tracking on a spreadsheet, so if it really is inexhaustable, I want to at least done every mission once... I've been selling off Inspy's from "Inner Inspiration" and because of that mostly, and to a lesser degree because I end up with hundred's of enhancement that I just sell back, and I'm do 10X more content that most toons do before lvl 10, I've gotten quite a war chest...been crafting IO's and have several sets already, and been playing the market, a little, to take my first million to $20 million. ... If there were some very real drop in population that made servers feel bare, they can always merge the lowest to servers together, or do something of the like. We've already hit Peak population and it's now dropping steadily, but not quickly...interesting read: https://massivelyop.com/2019/07/08/city-of-heroes-homecoming-interview/
  12. you can create macros or keybinds to quickly change costumes and use an emote... First decide what emote you want...there is definitely a lightning flash as one of them. To discover this, go to Menu->Costumes. Click the emote you want to try out. Click any costume in the screen, and then close the window quickly... Once you've decided on an emote, go here to the get the emote name - https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Emotes#Costume_Change_Emotes The bind or macro looks like this /bind [key] cce [costume slot #, 1st costume is 0, 2nd costume is 1, etc] [ccemote name] /macro [macroname] cce [costume slot #, 1st costume is 0, 2nd costume is 1, etc] [ccemote name] If you really want to go crazy...you can add text as well...note the addition of quotes, and the "l" after the $$ which means put the text in local chat /bind [key] "cce [costume slot #, 1st costume is 0, 2nd costume is 1, etc] [ccemote name]$$l [text here]" /macro [macroname] "cce [costume slot #, 1st costume is 0, 2nd costume is 1, etc] [ccemote name]$$l [text here]" So putting it all together as bind /bind NUMPAD7 "cce 0 CCLightning$$l Shazam!" /macro CC1 "cce 1 CCLightning$$l Shazam!" The bind will change you to whatever is in your 1st Costume Slot, the Macro, just to be contrary, will change you to your 2nd costume slot. Hope this helps!
  13. @Cipher, Can you tells us more about your Non-Profit plans? You guys are being very vague about what you are doing there...If you are going a charity route, it would be great if you polled the community to see what they most want to support so that the charity itself doesn't become any kind of stumbling block to donating...I don't see "Homecoming" as a viable charity in itself, which means you guys will be needing to donate cash to some kind of charity, which increases expenses... You've got the money to go this route now, so can please share where this non-profit is heading? Pretty Please?
  14. OP, I am a +1 on all new ideas for archetypes that seem at least half baked, and yours is much more so... Great work!
  15. It's just one example set. Might be what the OP meant...but he said "Custom Set" and provided the stats on one set...I saw no use of the plural... That being said, I'm sure other folks could create some additional sets modeled after his one custom set...
  16. Impish Kat got you the right info... I would add that what that info talks about, in this case, are keybinds not macros. You can't have a Macro do rotating text, but a keybind and keybind file does it wonderfully. Macro will create an icon in your Power Tray that must be clicked, or have the appropriate keypress to that tray and slot. I.E., putting the macro in your 3rd slot on the first try, you could also press "3" to fire it, since "3" will fire whatever is in the 3rd slot on the first tray A Keybind is tied to a key on the keyboard, or a mouse button, or a combination. There is no way to "Click" a keybind
  17. I'm a +1 to the idea of this set...I am a little concerned you have only 1 secondary, that seems limiting. Leogunner...what specifics would you CHANGE about his idea, while working within the idea he's presented...unless you just feels it awful, in which case, forget I posted this
  18. I can't seem to input any key-related commands from within the enhancement management window, if that's what you mean... That is what I mean...see if you get the same result at the tailor or when leveling up. If so, that means all full screen activities disable all key commands
  19. It could be that because the Enhancement Screen is a full size window, that binds don't work...do any of these commands work at the tailor or levelin screen either?
  20. Welcome Back to Paragon City, voted by Lifestyle magazine as “Best city for living cheap on high wages”. Guess it has something about low property values due to frequent devastation, and employers having to pay top wages to get people willing to step foot in an office building.
  21. Ah, I see the confusion here. I mention the level caps for those that out level badges then go back to get them Volcanic is one of my least favorite badge hunts as the magma bosses are not always prolific in the hollows for a nice high level street sweeps, thus some may want to use missions to hunt them and the ones I posted appear to be the only ones with them. As I was thinking about it, I don't think there is a lvl cap for either SSA's or the cavern trial. They both just lower you to the level cap, so you really can't ever outlevel them. Regular content you absolutely can, but not TF's/Trials/Events or SSA's
  22. There is a chat with team leader option when right clicking on a character. If you had clicked this while he was solo, you would be chatting with him (since we are all team leaders in our solo minds),but when he joined a team maybe it just carried over still? Still seems wonky if that's the explanation
  23. Love this and would totally participate. Is there a SG i can join, or a channel, or something so I can participate?
