Praetorian Police powerset/EAT
justicebeliever replied to DeltaPangaea's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Can you expand on what powers you might for this EAT? How would this set finction than just having any old AT in PPD costume. -
Well that is a pickle I’ve got no solution for other than what you suggest
-
Zolgar, those are excellent points. And even in going through the game you get briefings on most of the zones and villain groups, so knowing a lot of this is part of your character exploring those zones and getting the info.

Allow moving enhancements inside the slotted power
justicebeliever replied to Weylin's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
If that’s true, that would be a deal breaker...what’s the source on that Zep? And be careful...I’m still watching you and waiting for your Fake Nemesis plot to be exposed :) -
Oh I have seen worse...lookup most any other thread on DFB or thoughts on IP. I am as guilty of this as most, but most posters get even more entrenched about their ideas the more they are criticized. Kudos to Solarverse for pivoting directions and not digging in.

No, it's not your opinion. Because this issue isn't a matter of opinion. It's something objectively verifiable. Opinions are things like "I like chocolate" and "Blue is my favorite color". Things that are purely subjective. You don't get to close off discussion when you state incorrect facts just by saying "That's just my opinion!" People try to do it all the time, and it's a major pet peeve of mine. DarkTyger - I know you and Solarverse don’t see eye to eye, but honestly until you have verifiable facts in hand, you can make a hypothesis (opinion). Once you have data, they you draw a conclusion based on facts...so I say this politely...do you have data? If so, please share. I do not or I would agree or disagree, but my hypothesis would be they do not. But that too is an opinion.

Can we please talk about the ninja Nerf to AE drops?
justicebeliever replied to midknight187's topic in Mission Architect
' instead of nerfing it, why didn't they just fix it? If you're not in the AE you don't get rewarded for completing it. I guess it's easier to nerf things instead of fixing the problem There were notes about it on discord...it was listed as an exploit You are right, it easier to nerf things, than fix the problem. Given the Dev's are entirely unpaid volunteers who are choosing to spend time away from family, friends, other hobbies, etc to do this, they get to choose what they want to spend their time. It's unfortunate that the change required impacting people who were not using the exploit, but if that easiest for them, then we really can't complain to them about. You can complain, but complaining about the Dev's would be like a homeless guy complaining that one time at the shelter they were served steak for a few weeks, but now they are serving chicken, lean beef, and pork because it's cheaper. Again, you can complain about the change...that's what the forums are for, just don't make it sound like the Dev's aren't doing enough... -

Legree, Infinitum - As I said in my original post on this thread - I know mine is an unpopular opinion. None of your arguments have swayed me, but I also know that none of mine have had an effect either. As I also said, this is going to stop me from playing, nor does it RUIN my fun, it's just a little less fun than I would like. But that's an opinion, which I am allowed to have, it is not a request or suggestion to change anything. Appreciate the discussion fellow posters!

Null the Gull and Alignment missions
justicebeliever replied to StoneColdJoker's topic in General Discussion
I really need to get around to building a base. I resisted for a long time, but my son totally begged me to let him build one, and now I would never go back *Teleporters to most zones, Blue, Red, and Gold...Great for running missions *NPC Trainers for leveling, Quartermaster as a universal store, ICON employee, Nurse for Inspy's *Salvage Racks, Enhancement tables for my low level toons, and Inspy Storage (I put the large ones in there and now that it's full, I can always go back get a large inspy for a tough mission, instead of paying 50K+ for them *Crafting tables (which are conviently next to my salvage racks)...don't have to run to the few University's that there are *Medbay as an alternative to the Hospital, and more importantly to evade Prisons on CoT or Council Missions. -
Yeah, I would be a bit upset if my tier one energy secondary suddenly became a knock down. The problem is not with Knock Back. The problem is with the players who either A: Dont know how to use it on teams who are trying to prevent mob scatter; or B: Are just trying to troll. Education is key here. Help them learn good ways to apply knock back. If they wont listen, kick them. They would be happier being on a knock back team...or maybe even solo. I agree 100% with both srmalloy and Solarverse... /jranger

Maybe that explains the overreactions to this thread. I mean I totally agree with you though, I don't think my pet peeve and tolerating all RP are mutually exclusive. That's very fair Prototech. We have to learn to tolerate our pet peeves, because in many cases it isn't because the other person has a malicious intent. I can't stand l33t speak in text messages (or much anywhere), but I deal with it internally, because no one is doing it specifically to set me off...

Nice dig. I love how you managed to slag off a small team of unpaid volunteers who kept the dream alive with minimal funding and few resources in just one sentence. That's classy. Well done. Give yourself a medal I wonder how much better you'd have done. I didn't take it as a dig. I took it as a statement of fact - don't expect much in the way of new content, which is very fair. In 6 years we got one zone, one piece of content (the Market TF), and a handful of contacts that don't give new content, but help give you a badge, or access old content. So honestly when anyone asks for new content, I've started mentioned that it's not likely to come from the Dev team, precisely because they are a group of unpaid volunteers. I know that tone is lost on the internet, so I'm assuming best intent, otherwise 90% of forum posts would get me angry. I could be wrong, maybe it just was a dig, but I can't tell from the face of it.

Origin Enhancement Guide/List for Enemy Factions?
justicebeliever replied to Perma-Newbie's topic in Guides
I'm a really good lurker on these forums (just never like to say anything :P ) but I have not ever seen such a list here. I've seen a list of enemies by zone, and enemies by def and resistance, but not by origin drops I checked Paragon wiki, and the entries for each contact tell you what enhancement types they drop... For Example: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Category:Hero_Contacts_Level_15-19 Pick the origin column and select the contact, and you'll see a "Store" link. It will tell you that contact is Natural/Magic or what not. If you work their missions, you are likely to get those origins for enhancements... -
To answer your question, simply because some of use and view chat boxes differently. What you find as organization, I see as separating in niche groups. Just that simple, we don't see it the same way, as having the same impact. I am obviously a minority on this one, it seems. Having a New Character Tab with /Help and /DFB, IMO, would end up with spamming LFG and DFB and result in lots of unneeded drama, based on previous MMO and human experience. WOuld not bother me one bit if it got implemented, I just honestly don't think it will work. Humans cannot be wrangled by code. Given options they can control, the will configure thier virtual realities to thier liking. IME. Again, this would not be separating people...just chats. I would post in both a DFB and separate LFG tab if they are there. Me the person, in both groups. These are just tools to help you find teams. There is no segregating. I would gravitate toward the channel that helps me form the team I want. And again, right now, this isn't a problem for DFB, because they are 4:1 over any other request group (if you separate people looking for TF/Trial, and people looking to just run missions, and people just looking to team up with someone else, and people wanting to do specific types of missions like Radio/Newspaper). So the traffic with DFB is harder to compete with. Again, I think you are reading way too much into what people are saying here. This IS NOT a thread asking to do away with DFB (I know, those threads are out there), it's asking to help manage chats in a way that helps everyone win. Not everything is a DFB plot...though this is likely a Nemesis plot!
