  1. Um sorry. No apology needed, I assumed it wasn’t malicious. Unless it was really a Nemesis plot to put creepy thoughts in my head. But that seems pretty low for Nemesis. Unless that’s what Nemesis wants me to think. But why would he waste his time to get me to think that? Wait...what if wasn’t Nemesis... *does math* That means Zep is a SEA MONKEY!!! Wait, I didn’t carry the 4. Zep is a FAKE NEMESIS! And it’s all a plot by him! Orchestrated of course by the real Nemesis.
  2. Squishy, I know your heart is in the right place, and I have no doubt that Homecoming appreciates your desire to donate. Right now there is no funding crisis, in a very short time they are able to collect all the money they need from the smallest possible amount of givers. This has 2 benefits for Homecoming 1.) Helps them to stay out of NCSoft's crosshairs...Every additional attempt to collect funds raises more risk that'll be perceived by NCSoft as an income grab 2.) Requires the LEAST amount of effort by Homecoming to collect the funds. This last one is important since Homecoming team are all volunteers, spending time away from their friends and family to support this. Your solution (or similar ones) have been suggested multiple times...I would ask you, what problem does your solution solve? And what are the costs of implementing it 1.) Problem - Since they don't need multiple windows to raise the money, it really only solves for making people feel better...which is good 2.) Cost - Multiple donation windows would require more effort and time from Homecoming to manage, and possible raises their legal exposure... So now you have to ask yourself...Is it worth it for Homecoming to spend more of their volunteer time helping you to feel better about contributing? I would suggest that the answer should be no. In fact, I would feel worse, if they spent extra time away from their families just so I could have my opportunity to give, when they don't actually need the money I'll end how I started...Your heart is in the right place, and wants to give back to a group of volunteers who brought back our city. I appreciate it, and have no doubt Homecoming appreciates it.
  3. So about that apartment building all your characters live in...are you _sure_ all the Paragon Municipality Commission certificates are up to date? My sources in the Isles tell me that could change... ;) We have.. ah.. special arrangements with the city council and inspectors. +1 for Zolgar and Jubakumbi
  4. So that does that mean forums = death? Eh...it's not so bad then...the GM overlords are nice then (except that Widower...watch out for him). I was not a prolific nor very nice poster in the old forums...I just wanted to WIN arguments...It's funny how much I've learned about myself since then, and the forums have been a good mirror of how I've grown and my attitudes toward winning have changed...I do still hear that siren call to "destroy" another poster with such devastating logic that they will rethink their life choices...But then I realize, that other poster is another human like me, with a point of view, and something valid to offer to the conversation...I think, 'If I was drinking a beer with this person, would I word my conversation the way I am posting it?'. That's helped alot... TL;DR - I hear you Legree...I understand... Now this has NOT been my experience...I've had a few really good teams where I was like 'I must Global Friend all of you', but most teams I've been on (and I've started most of them, so this is probably on me) have been very AGGRO...DESTROY...MOVE ON, with little chit chat...I always try to start some, but I am not feeling the same magic as Live...I need friends I suppose...
  5. Many people do post their anecdotal experiences here and unintentionally portray them as true for everybody...and in looking at my response, it was a little snotty. For that I apologize However, the data you are giving is still anecdotal (many mission, many days...averages in a range, etc). My earlier tone was snotty, my suggestion was not... If you can track some #'s that show a pattern (this many missions, this many groups of mobs, and this many quantums), that helps to see if it's really more than a perception issue. It hasn't been my experience to see what you are seeing, so hence the suggestion Also, what is your difficulty set to? Not sure that has ANY bearing on the # of Q's you would see, but it might...
  6. I always find it's a best practice to set my personal expectations really low, so that way I feel like an overachiever every day just for taking a shower... (Okay...Okay, I was fibbing...I feel like an overachiever every week or two just for taking that one shower....that reminds me...did I shower on Saturday or last Monday?)
  7. +1 Inf Abraxus... Me too! I've been soloing and doing PUG TF's every day. It's been a blast. Like Irene Adler was the only woman for Sherlock Holmes, CoX has always been "the game" for me...It's the only MMORPG I've ever played... I'm loving the journey, jumping between characters, making new concepts breathe air, and finding different ways to enjoy the content...I'm wanting to start diving into all the awesome Mission Architect content that's been done (not the farms, the actual story arc content). I've been able to enjoy playing with my kiddo who tells me every time, "thanks Dad for introducing me to City of Heroes". The only thing I haven't been able to get into is the forums :P
  8. .... that's actually a bit of wealth privilege peeking out from behind you, there. :) How about the kids of people working in Super Gyro stores? Or the kids of the janitorial staff of any of the many high-rise office buildings in Paragon? Not every family could afford to pick up stakes and move like that. Nor to send their kids to a private school somewhere else. :) I don't think those janitors are very underprivileged in Paragon :) I saw this recent job posting
  9. Paragon City Council is debating on banning all burrito sales because of the rise of building fires caused by flatulent sparking from Clockwork, Hellions, and Demons. I will be leading a protest outside El Super Mexicano. El Super Mexicano is lobbying hard against it...they "claim" it's a Nemesis plot...But the Fire Chief says he's running ragged putting these fires out in Steel Canon especially...
  10. Fellow Forum Posters - you have LONG since missed the June Window...(this thread is about donations for June). However, July Donations haven't started yet - Please go here for information on that
  11. But there's really no significant PVE effect. That's what I'm pointing out here. You basically get nothing you couldn't get from either a base buff, a break free or (functionally speaking) a single slot allotted to a kb io. It feels disingenuous when you say there won’t be a PvE effect but won’t support it being PvP only. One could argue that they would have to slot differently between a PvE and PvP build, but that’s what muliple builds are for
  12. Maybe a power dampening effect in Atlas Plaza? (Not Atlas Park, just the Plaza...)
  13. Paragon City Council is debating on banning all burrito sales because of the rise of building fires caused by flatulent sparking from Clockwork, Hellions, and Demons.
  14. +1 Inf for the laugh Murcielago
  15. Again, i’m assuming you would handle the details for most of it and let them be hands off. It’s not like the old forums will need to be moderated... But this seems like something the community would support.
  16. If you were a parent concerned about your child’s education would you let your kids go to school in Paragon City? “How was school today dear?” “It was OK. Mrs. K said Johnny in my class is a little hellion” “Well, some kids are a little squirrelly. Why I remember when I was a kid...” “I think she reallly meant it dad. He got the hiccups after lunch and burned down the classroom.” *picks up phone to call realtor*
  17. I just ran Citadel's War last night with a Kheldian - saw an average of 2 Q's per map... Anecdotal evidence is hard...Seriously, try a tick sheet and track it for a while and report the hard data...that motivates change
  18. It sounds like a bug, and this is the right place...I'm not critiquing the issue, but there is a /stuck command you can try that moves you a few feet in a direction that might unstick you easier... They should still fix the bug if able, but hope that helps make it more livable...
  19. This was never something I thought about until this post...Now I am trying to unthink it every time I zone...
  20. That's Brilliant...I expect no less from you Rylas...Definitely a +1 Inf...
  21. I do have a question...I do a lot of TF's (definitely not as many as many of you), but I have yet to see someone join up with the purpose of "trolling" our group...Maybe it's because they don't have the opportunity (except for heaping additional aggro on the group that we aren't prepared to take and they leaving when we face plant - and again, I have YET to see this). Is the worry here really that people are going to troll your TF? For the Moonfire Example...you would have to really have a lot of trolling experience to make that work - Roberta is a single hostage, with her own capabilities...And if the "team" is all working together to lead her out, there really isn't an Oppty for trolling... I haven't done Lady Grey since my Live Days, so I am bit rusty there... And if the "real" argument is "NO. Don't change my stuff", then let's at least get that out there to deal with, and not cloud it with unlikely what if's.
  22. Well...you are a big part of the HC community...everyone who has helped with this is part of HC...even HC mods/devs are helping out...Can we pitch a case to HC to have them host the forums and include the overhead in their monthly goals? A.) They have a scalable hosting model B.) Funding can be consolidated C.) It doesn't increase their legal exposure...and if it's a static forum tool, the support would be minimal and supplied by yourself... Thoughts? I mean it's HC's call, but since we are supporting them, I feel we have a voice...
  23. Pax, are you talking about the lvl 5-9 Sea Witch, as a boss? Or the Elite Boss version? Elite Boss, yes, designed so you should have a team (many people can solo them, but that's not the design). The notoriety settings, I believe, only allow you to exclude "bosses" from the general mobs in a map, but not to restrict the "Big Bad" of the Arc down to Lt. If my memory hasn't failed me (and I am constantly finding my marbles lying around in all sorts of places), then the design of the game is at least one Red Boss per Story Arc.
  24. All whales swim in the ocean. Sea Creatures swim in the ocean. Therefore all sea creatures are whales...Logical fallacy right? We have players who don't know very well how to play the game, and we have Power Levelers...but the two aren't necessarily related We have different segments of PL'ers - Vet Players looking to get to lvl 50 and do whatever end game content they want Players who are being PL'ed by their friends so they can be the same level their friends are People exposed to PL'ing thru an in-game connection - shows them how to do it, and off they go People who read how to PL and just did it But let's be fair, no one just comes to the game, completely clueless and starts to PL. They have to either a.) acutely aware of the game mechanics in a way to build an "exploit" to level quickly without grinding or b.) they have to been exposed to it by someone else who knows what they are doing. So unless you fall into those last 2 segments, and however you were exposed to the game didn't share with you any other mechanics...you might struggle when you get to 50...But these are the minority cases, not the rule... Conversely there are different segments of people who don't play well as other players Casual Gamers who don't min/max People who don't understand AT Balance and ignore their secondaries - "Pure Healer","Damage Only","All Holds all the time" People who get bad advice and don't know to question it People who solo and don't read Paragon Wiki or the Forums Doesn't read like a list of people who only power level, does it...I mean I could be a power leveler and be any of those...but there are lots of players who don't PL who fall into all of these as well... It helps a lot on these forums when we don't paint with a big brush and label a segment of players as being "all one thing"...Player's reasons for being who they are and how they play and why they play are as varied as the sunsets... So yes it sucks when you do a PUG and someone doesn't know all the ins and outs as well as you do, but if they leave that group and haven't learned anything, that's now on you, not them And I would argue, if you're bar for a pickup group is "master level", then you have set a very high bar that most people who play this game can't meet. Now it may seem like I am slamming you ChocolateMercenary, and I am not...You've expressed a common opinion on these forums. This post is as much for them, and not an intent to single you out. But your post gave me an opportunity to respond...
  25. There was an issue...it's been fixed...Get back out there... Seriously, why are you still reading this...go...the outage is over... Still here? What are you waiting here for...Go...Hunt..Kill Skuls...
