Is your old favourite AT still your favourite AT?

That's not so hard: whichever one isn't yelling. :) (Gen puts on the heavy-duty noise headphones he got for when he's using power tools, or just runs out of cope.) +1 Inf -
Homecoming Server Update (June 26th): Donation Window Poll
justicebeliever replied to Cipher's topic in Announcements
Why would you want ANYONE to volunteer their time to solve this problem so you can feel better about your giving? It's a poor way to use a volunteer I submit. It's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. There are no funding issues right now. I think it edges closer and closer to a subscription system. If 5% of the player base (5K), pledge $25/mos, than suddenly you have a player base that's worth $1.5M...A bit more than the 300 people who are giving just enough to meet that ~$7K that HC needs each month. And I want to be clear - I know everyone's heart is in the right place...so I am not calling anyone out. Not trying to insult anyone's feelings, but that is the only problem this solves - it makes YOU feel better... -
Letting your kid visit Paragon City.
justicebeliever replied to Generator's topic in General Discussion
Interesting point. I'll be honest I hadn't considered the TOS. Thanks to both you and justicebeliever for pointing that out. Generator - let's play hypothetical. If you "hypothetically" allowed your kid to play, there is no way for HC to know that. The ToS are there to protect HC, should YOU claim that they let your kid play and your kid was harmed because he decided to spam chat his personal email, address, or phone #. It's a legal requirement HC has to follow to comply with Federal Law, but not because it's their personal philosophy. And I am extremely dubious they would spend hard $$ trying to do anything about it. I mean I wouldn't let me hypothetical kid go around spamming that he's 9 in team chat or anything, but seriously, I don't think it's a bigger deal than going 60 in a 55MPH zone. -
Homecoming Server Update (June 26th): Donation Window Poll
justicebeliever replied to Cipher's topic in Announcements
I can't speak for everyone else, but my reason for wanting a queue system is because I'm VERY appreciative of this chance to get my game back, my digital home. And I want to show my appreciation by supporting it, in any way I can. The inability to be here, on the site, at JUST the right moment to contribute... is frustrating. I haven't been able to give anything yet. I get that you are appreciative PK. At the same time, you show it all the time with the work you do for tools and other things for the community. But it comes back to the question - is the personal satisfaction you'll get with donating (and let's be clear, that's all you get...I donated last month, and I didn't get, and nor expected, a thank you or a badge or anything), is that personal satisfaction worth someone of the HC team having to spend more of their own volunteer time managing that process? Is it worth potentially incurring a C&D from NCSoft? -

You can't. Once you create your game account login, it becomes read only - https://forums.homecomingservers.com/account/ There is no option to add a 2nd account. -

justicebeliever replied to Generator's topic in General Discussion
You cannot have a 2nd HC account with the same email. I tried when I create my kiddo's HC account. What I've done is some of what has been suggested - I marked him in LFG as "WILL NOT TEAM". I removed most of the chat tabs (He has Team, Local, Broadcast, and the Sys/Rewards/NPC/Cut Scene channels as well. Where we will differ Gen, is that we do have a second computer, so he can play at the same time as me, and I am always on a team with him. That way I can monitor him. And when we team with others, I let them know he's my kiddo, since his playstyle is still pretty rough... Also, we are talking about hypothetical kids, since the ToS prohibit anyone under 13 from playing. -

I'm confused...which player are you? Because it sounds like you are suggesting player C, who wants to volunteer dev's limited time to intentionally dismantle a system that other players are using? I mean I get not want the Dev's to spend lots of time on PVP (and I think everyone on this thread get's that is the case), but to take time to break something other people are using? It does sound mean-spirited... -

The problem is that Patreon doesn't "turn off" when a goal is hit. And then it'll start to look like HC is making a nice profit on this (which is what Patreon is for). And profit off someone else's IP starts to really raise eyebrows... I'm really unclear why people think this is a problem that needs solving and that you want HC to spend extra time managing -

Ouroboros Mission not showing complete in list
justicebeliever replied to EVOESI's topic in Bug Reports
Can you just auto-complete it? Take the mission, go back to the contact and you’ll be given an option to complete it. You can do this every 3 days. You get full credit for the mission as if you completed it (XP, Badge, Inf, etc). You are just giving up the XP/Inf you would get for defeating the mobs, but since you’ve already done it, should be a big deal. It’s what I do when a mission bugs... EDIT: i’m Not suggesting this wasn’t a bug btw, just giving a workaround -
I am a perma haten all those who are a haten me. You shouldn’t be a perma ragen like that.

This Are you agreeing that they're good picks or that I'm biased? ;D :P Can’t it be a little of column A and a little of column B?

+1 Inf to Pax and Egg for sharing! You guys rock... -
I saw this the other day in a mission - someones LFG chat was ported over a mob's head...it was weird. I mean, maybe the Tank Smasher was looking for a team...after all his former team was now lying face down on the floor fading away, so I could see why he wants a new one...

I'm becoming more and more open to the possibility...I could see making it available only to people who a certain QTY of level 50, or at least one of each AT at lvl 50, or something like that. But if it's just 10M to pop a pill to get to 50 that anyone can grab? Not so much. But my pushback would be that you can experience combinations or situations on the lower levels too. I mean there is more content there than at lvl 50. And that's the fundamental thing with CoX - it was built with the idea that the journey would matter and that life doesn't start at 50. I understand completely if you personally don't like the journey, but a "pop to lvl 50" button gives the impression to everyone that lvl 50 is where it's at.

Imagine you're a electric/electric blaster. You shoot lightning out of your hands... Then someone hands you a guitar! Now you shoot lighting from your guitar! Or from a wand, a gun, a magic orb of powah, or whatever gizmos they decide to include! Also, you're a little Lost? Most Lost tend to get bigger the more they mutate! Oh, I'm just starting to mutate...went to Terra Volta and all sorts of things are happening to me... Thanks for the explanation - makes total sense, but I am with Adeon, sounds like a huge project for little gain. But I do love the idea...

Homecoming Server Update (June 26th): Donation Window Poll
justicebeliever replied to Cipher's topic in Announcements
No worries Burnt Toast - I know you are appreciative, it comes through here in the forums. But I will say, it seems like the idea of a pledge, subscription, queue, are just solutions looking for a problem. Right now, HC is able to get all the money they need in a few hours. Do we really want any administrative time spent building/managing/support a more complicated payment model? And let's be fair, there is no suggestion that is less complicated than what they have right now. I wouldn't want HC to spend less time on development, or with their family, or just playing because they have to manage a more complicated payment process. And, it seemingly bears repeating - any kind of model that starts to approach a subscriber model, is going to only raise eyebrows and concerns with the IP holder. Why poke the bear so we can feel a little better? The current process is definitely "not broke", so why fix it? I really don't think anyone who has been giving is feeling like others are ungrateful, so don't put that guilt on yourself. -
Requesting a non-AE server #TBL on July 1st
justicebeliever replied to pattycake's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I mean it would work...People who want to do DFB want to connect with others who want to do DFB. If there was a dedicated channel, people would use it. No one is spamming "Lvl 4 Tank, looking for DFB" just to get a rise out of people. They would gravitate to whatever channel successfully gets them a team. I just don't think it's that big a problem that it needs that solution... -

justicebeliever replied to BlueDragoon's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
One time I was in a PVP zone and I got totally ganked by another player and I was so madz that I said a mean thing in the chatter box, and he was like, "No, you didn't", and then he ganked me again, so I hate all PvP and want all arenas burned to the ground. But seriously, you are exactly right. PvP has it's place in the game and it should get some love every once in a while. I hear your frustration when people dump all over your ideas when aren't even impacted by them...I really love your attitude about it being a lower priority since it is a small population, but even small player populations should get a few improvements tossed their way as well. +1 Inf... -

Um, if this happens and you don't tell us what server, there's gonna be trouble. :) EDIT: bonus points for character name that is a Queen-related wordplay. And had it happened in Live it would have to be on Champion server. I’m totally in EggKooKoo! I’m thinking of a Flash Gordon character. -

Aaaaand I am suddenly reminded of the time back in the old days when, in the middle of a Manticore TF, we all broke into a rousing version of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody for basically no reason. Apart from, you know, awesome song, man. EDIT: so that I'm clear, I mean all beating up of Crey personnel literally stopped for this to be done. No one talked about it, it just happened. It was like in old Hollywood movies when suddenly you'd break into The Musical Number. This happened last month in one of the Global Channels. It was hysterical! -

To Gen, Zolgar, Abraxus - you guys are awesome and righteous. Be happy to team with anyone of you. And I know you would be very inviting. Pax - I hear you...not sure why the forums don’t trigger anxiety in me either (probably because it is asynchronous communication, and I’ve learned the hard way to not try to hard to read into what people are saying and just assume good intent). Also I know you are working to make this easier for people with your Temporary Powers Channel. -
PSA: We Practice What We Preach Around Here!
justicebeliever replied to Generator's topic in General Discussion
Just to present an alternative - just like some people in life are very extroverted and have no problems reaching out to people, there are other people who struggle with the same thing. Maybe it's just an introverted personality, and anxiety disorder, or a lack of confidence. But regardless of the reasons, it's usually not so helpful to say to those people (I'm among them), just be more extroverted like me and everything will work out. I know it can be easy to form a team, I have done it many times, but it always feels exhausting to me in a way that I know it doesn't to others...I know for some, just forming the team is a great joy. I know everyone means well when they say this, but it's one of those, until you walk a mile, you don't see how hard it can be for some people. So yes, no one should say that forming a team is too hard or impossible. There is nothing in the game that makes that true (unless you are playing at 3 am in Praetoria, and let's just face it, the math to form a team probably isn't there). But to say it's easy, because it is easy for you, doesn't make it true for everyone else. Again - I know that everyone on this thread means well, and there is zero intent from them to insult anyone, and in fact, I am not insulted. Please know there is zero intent from me to be taken as insulting either.
