  1. Assuming this was addressed at me (the prior poster), I would say that if that was the case, then the game is bug free, because there are zero stickied posts in the bug reports forum. Maybe I'm not understanding what you are saying?
  2. From a Dev on Discord. Sounds like the latest patch created a character transfer issue and when they rolled back that patch today it should be resolved.
  3. /selectbuild [n] n is the number of the build, like costumes the first build is 0, the second build is 1...etc
  4. Jack, we already have story arcs with powers, badges and merits. Why would new origin specific ones be different?
  5. This thread isn't about adding new content, it's about making character origins matter. And that, I'm against, and I like to think at this point I've made it clear why. Apologies Vanden. I wasn’t clear and you just cleared something up for me. I was unclear - I wasn’t wondering your thoughts on this thread - you’ve been very clear. I was wondering just your thoughts on new content in general. I really wasn’t trying to be trying earlier (though my family would say that sometimes I don’t have to try too hard). As for clarity...I posted specifically about new content, because for me that is what this is about. Not trying to lock you into new origin specific game mechanics that you are stuck with, and that any ideas would be player optional, not forced on them. So maybe adding story lore based on origin, similar to kheldians, but not forcing you to have a specific origin based foe that is dogging you from lvl 1 - 50. Nor locking or changing your powers based on origin either. Maybe this changes your mind, maybe not...but wanted to clarify my thoughts
  6. That’s what I was thinking. The question was more about whether having different colors based on alignment. I figured Dev’s and Beta testing could sort the exact hue and we didn’t need to solve that in this thread :P
  7. Solarverse, so glad you wrote this. I loved the Hollows, but I will admit to not having been back since HC. I wrote a post in the original forums called Everything I needed to learn about CoH, I learned in the Hollows Navigation - Once you've learned to navigate around Trolls, Igneous, CoT and giant cracks in the ground, all without a travel power, you really know how to get around it City of Heroes. Playing Smart - After you've had to run from the Atlas Park hospital back to the same Hollows mission map 3 times in a row, you start to think about things like tactics, and bringing Inspirations with you Value of Teamwork - Want to take down Frostfire? You need a team. Unless you really love soloing, at some point the Hollows teach the basics of LFG and how to invite and manage a team Helping Hand - Hanging on by a thread against those Trolls? Who doesn't love a little buff now and then to win the day. Fallen in the deepest darkest crevice? Hello TaxiBot. After the Hollows I become much more aware of how I can help out my fellow heroes now & then Chatting - There is nothing more fun that starting a nice snarky chat while laying face-planted in the middle of cave. Running back from Atlas - better learn to run and chat at the same time I know it's changes a bunch from those days - Trainer and Field Medic in the Zone, Travel powers at level 4, LFG Team tab...and maybe some of that is why I haven't been back...I think there is a lot of truth to what's been said - sometimes you just can't go back home and relive the glory days... I need to revisit Julius and Office Wincott on my next character, because really and truly some of my best CoH experiences are from the Hollows...
  8. No glitch...Your forum username and password don't work in the game. You have to create a separate username and password for the game. Go here to set that up and you will be GtG: https://forums.homecomingservers.com/account/
  9. I have always thought that a magnetic theme was missing from the game...I love all 3 of these sets, but especially the 2 magnetic ones /signed
  10. I am still unclear why we think the majority characters would be locked out of the content 1.) Everyone has an origin...everyone would have some kind of ability to access new content 2.) Content would be optional...there is zero chance that everyone is going jump into new content if it is offered, but for a large part of the base (at least I would have assumed before this post) new content would be welcome... 3.) I am assuming content would come from the community...I mean at this point they are taking volunteers and even suggested for some projects that the community design it, talk it over with the devs and go from there...I mean it might have sub par writing...but unless they are going to hire a professional writer, that is as close as any new content is going to get to happening...And if they are going to hire a professional writer, then it's a whole new ball game. I was hoping that brainstorming would develop some possibilities for the community to rally against... Vanden, are you at all in favor of any new content? And if so, what are your thoughts? (I'm not being sarcastic here, genuinely inquisitive) EggKooKoo, keep up the good fight! :)
  11. https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Edge_of_Chaos_Badge Edge of Chaos is IN City Hall in the DATA room right in front of the teleporter... https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Observant_Badge Observant is in the Vanguard Base, up the stairs on the left, in front of the observation window...
  12. ROFL!!!! +1 Inf... But glad it was a grass fed cow...+1 one more for being organic!!!
  13. That’s awesome! My son (during Live) would hand sketch his ideas, and then we would make them in game.
  14. Let’s not turn this discussion into an unwinnable, unnecessary argument about AE farming. If you play AE and have a reasonable request for change, then make it. If you don’t play AE and are just frustrated that other players level faster than you, then you might need to evaluate why you feel other players have to play the same way you do. People are playing the same game you do, using the same mechanics you do, just in a different way. That is the nature of a MMORPG. The XP rewards for AE are already half than the rest of the game. If you don’t play AE, that’s great. I don’t either, but I won’t complain as long as no one makes me play it. (I do visit it for the badge on every character. The building is nicely designed)
  15. Of course you can...how else could we say Conga-rats? Wow! That's a lotta badges
  16. Great costume. My first character was time lost pirate from the 1600’s and wouldn’t use any travel powers. He was unfamiliar with modern technology and was so focused on getting back home to his family that he wasn’t going to take the time to learn it. His teammates finally convinced him to use a “jet pack” to get around. I understand the character immersion completely
  17. I’d be fine with this...however is this a solution looking for a problem (are people struggling to decipher what LFG chat might be valuable for them)? I’m exclusively blue so it’s not a problem for me, but since this about supporting redside just wondering what others experiences are.
  18. If you start redside you can’t TP blueside without a trip to Null the Gull to change your alignment. RWZ and DA are co-op zones for either alignment
  19. Kallista Wharf, its open to both redside and blueside
  20. Hmm. If I were to redesign SS from the ground up... Hasten (T1) : Altering Hasten would change the game significantly beyond the scope of reworking this pool, but see below. Quick-Witted (T1) : A 30s base click power that breaks Immobilize effects. Having this power passively provides ~mag 3 protection against Sleep, Confuse, and Knockback. Choice of power - Super Speed or Marathon (T1) : SS works as-is, but over-cap movespeed reduces the endurance cost of the toggle ("somehow") and adds movespeed reduction resistance ("somehow"). Marathon is a passive minor runspeed power that accepts run sets, lacks SS's stealth, but has a lot of movespeed resist. Whirlwind (T2) : Similar to current but only requires one other Speed power, and does very minor (but enhanceable) Smashing damage. Burnout (T3) : Burnout is exactly the same as now except it has antipathy (anti-synergy) with Hasten. If you take Burnout without having Hasten, it also provides a passive 20% global recharge speed buff and -rech resistance. +1
  21. This! This is one of the best posts about the freedom of expression and civility in these forums...+1 inf sir. I wasn't clear earlier, and usually when that happens, people get more antagonized...Much like talking about the right of free expression in these forums, I believe people have a fundamental "right" (it is a game, so I guess it's more of a privilege, but whatever) to level ANYWAY THEY WANT. I have zero problem with you level faster than me. And if you are enjoying it, I even applaud it. Your character, your playstyle is no less valid than mine. And if you are enjoying the ride, and there are people who are just frustrated that you are, then I would argue that your playstyle is MORE valid than theirs, because it is a game, and it should be for enjoyment, not frustration. In fact people who can't be respectful about it, have a playstyle LESS VALID than others... My point in my post earlier was merely to point out that for people who like to slog thru the content that there are challenges in the game for us as well. I often here the refrain that you can just turn off XP. Well that's true, but then for me it becomes all or nothing. I can have regular XP on or off. People who want to level quickly have many more options, like bonus XP at different levels. I would love to see a 1/2 XP plus 50% boost in inf option for those who want to play slow. People say DFB teams aren't hurting anyone. But that's not 100% true. The trial itself, the level quickly? That doesn't hurt me at all. Having to wait 30 minutes before my kiddo and I can start a TF because of the business of the LFG chat? That hurts, a little. Should we fix it? No...I don't see how, and it is there as much for DFB as anyone else. My kiddo and I have a supergroup, and he just learned about supergroup bases and is having the time of his life right now building one. I don't have any friends on the server, so I appreciate your kind gesture of teaming up. Please ping me, my global handle is justicebeliever. I hope you are just speaking about getting older (since all of time on earth gets more limited each year), but if it is something more terminal, please know that wherever, whoever you are, my prayers are with you. God bless!
  22. Sometimes a master craftsman forgets the arduous journey he took to get there in the first place, and scoffs at the work of a young man's first try at the craft. He forgets that he too was once an apprentice with much to learn. And had not another master craftsman taken the time to teach him he would not be where he is today. He forgets that before he was an apprentice even, when he knew very little about the art, that his own initial attempts at crafting himself were pitiful and hardly worthy of praise. He forgets that those initial attempts were the best he could do. He forgets about the friendly journeyman passing through town, who took the time to talk to him about the craft, and inspired him to continue in the journey. He forgets that journeyman spoke to him at his level, praising the effort that went into the work, and encouraged him to keep trying. That journeyman who never spoke poorly about his attempt, even though they both knew it was not quality work. He forgets that it was that encounter that spurred him to try again. And again, until he knew that this was something he truly wanted to do with his life and finally apprenticed himself to a master who he could ask and learn from. That master craftsman now ponders...maybe I was too quick to scoff. We both know it's a poor attempt, but perhaps if I just talk to him like that journeyman once talked to me, that this too might be another master craftsman in the rough, waiting for someone to notice the sparkle of the diamond he could be. He struggles to remember how the journeyman approached him. Not with criticism, but praise. But how can I praise this poor attempt? How can I even humor it? He remembers now, the journeyman praised his effort, not the quality. They talked about the passion of crafting. He talked at his level at the time so that by humoring the young man that he was, he was inspired to continue the journey. Bentley - I say this to you with absolute sincerity and zero attempt of sarcasm...you are a master craftsman at lore based RP and RP in general. I would love to team with you because I would no doubt love the experience of teaming with someone so versed in the lore. But I would be afraid to, because, alas, I am a mere apprentice. I know it, you would know it, and I would rather not invite your scorn. I role play because I have some passion around it, but even at the "set in my ways" age of 46, I could those fires being tamped out and the enthusiasm lost. The post is a morality tale...it's my own creation, and it's clearly my opinion, and not based in any universal set of right/wrong. But having mastered some crafts, having attempted others only to see my attempts squashed, and having journeyed along the path with others, these are my perceptions.
  23. Where do you see these floating numbers? There are a lot of places numbers can be floating, and how to manage them will depend on what numbers you are talking about.
  24. The only time I have seen redside/blueside come up in the game is LFG. In that context it means Hero Only Zones/Content vs Villain Only Zones/Content As it is in game slang there is no “official” definition for anyone to claim, just context.
  25. I have Burnout on a character and I will defnitely respec out of it...it’s utility for me was definitely too low. As you say it’s a very situational power, and i’ve only used in 3 times, and omly one of those times avoided a face plant because of it. I love SS for the Stealth component...zooming around and the bad guys never attack or if they do, you don’t aggro them when you keep going. It’s great on missions to get the lay of the land without drawing aggro or to find a glowie without drawing aggro. It’s not invisibility, but a great aspect of the power. it is hard having to figure out alternative routes because you can’t jump/fly/tp when you hit a wall, but with a free jump pack it smooths that out.
