  1. Rad armor is a great set that uses resistance paired with Regen/absorb. There's a few build theories in that you can build towards its strengths or shore up weaknesses like no defense. IMO, It works well with capped slow resistance and capped damage type resistances or as close as you can get (noting you can get extra resistance from might of the tanker procs, meltdown, melee core hybrid, demonic, rune of power). Building for defense didn't seem necessary given the resistance and absorb shield. Once you have resistances set, getting decent recharge is important because you can proc bom rad therapy and ground zero to help your AoE damage output.
  2. I enjoyed the arcs I've played of @cranebump , @Darmian, and @Ankylosaur. I also like the difficulty of @Linea's missions. I've thought it would be a cool idea to have player-author review panel for awhile now that would vote on missions that get added to help draw attention to well written story arcs to help others see them. They could have representation from the HC mission writing team as well.
  3. I keep influence listed as a combat attribute in game so I'm always aware of how much liquid influence each character has. I do have to scroll through ingame emails though to see which ones are loads with a billion here or there to get an accurate count (but luckily those are account wide, so I only have to do that for each of my three accounts).
  4. Following up....the character is lvl 50 on live. I tested it with both digging into fire mastery for fireball and energy mastery for FA. I found using the build I came up with I was pretty comfortable with the attack chain without adding fireball in. Fireball did allow for slotting an annihilation proc for more -res which I did like, but even without it things were typically melting on +4/8. I settled on the energy mastery app for this toon and I definitely like ensuring everything is hitting my targets. The toon is fully slotted out on live now save +3 nucleolus/microfilament enhancements in fire sword and swift (it's a flier so a micro in swift work well). As I get some downtime during naps for my daughter and such I'll be working on accolades, but will try to make it to TT on Tuesday to give it a test drive with other tanks. Thanks folks, I'm really enjoying fire melee with it as it's unusual for me to pair themed powersets like that but it's pretty satisfying just burning everything to a cinder.
  5. I fully agree. My doctor prescribed me a diet with copious amounts of bacon. Best doc ever.
  6. What are your build goals with the scrapper? What kind of content do you envision doing with it? Do you prefer to build towards its strengths or shore up weaknesses? I typically don't publicly release builds, but I've helped a number of people get better at making their own builds over the years and it starts with identifying your build goals. After that taking a stab at making a build with mids. Loading it into the test server where IOs are free and seeing if the character performs how you expected it to or if you're still off base. Bio Armor really thrives with a decent amount of recharge because of its three click powers. Luckily enough two of them are pbaoes that increase in effectiveness based on how many mobs surrounding you. You can build Bio to have a large HP pool which helps it's Regen ticks, tick for more HP. It also gets a large absorb, and some resistance and defense padding. Because the click powers are kinda the bread and butter, slow resistance is pretty crucial. You get 30% with Inexhaustible, but can stack more with Winter's Gift, and Winter Set IOs 2/3 piece bonuses. Battle axe works well in that you can slot in some FF procs to help turbo charge your recharge a bit and bring mobs in around you where they can help fuel your click buffs but also get weakened with evolving armor/genetic contamination. Think up your build goals, and take a stab at making your own build. There's lots of vets here that have been playing for 20 years and most of us like teaching people things about this game to make more competent players.
  7. This right here is why I ultimately ruled out pairing TW with Fiery Aura. I had a cool theme in my head, but dropping burn would impact momentum, so I ultimately went fire/fire. TW works a bit easier I think with Elec armor because of the longer recharge on energize and your likely not using power sink on CD unless you're trying to sap a target or have absolutely horrible end management.
  8. Depends on your build. Since your Elec Armor you could eschew padding defense and just build to your strengths, in which case defensive sweep is a LoTG mule (but could also house a kismet, and the 2 +resistance IOs) depending on your build and if you had access to any other power that allows for defense IOs like combat jumping. I have the scrapper version of this as a tw/elec scrapper, but I haven't touched it in 3+ years at this point.
  9. I've been in real life... Bullets, mortars, RPGs flying overhead, and not all of that is contained to a war zone. There's bosses giving you so much things to do at work that coworkers are having mental health breakdowns and it causes you to pick up their slack too. There's crying babies, and spouses telling you to take out the trash and mow the lawn. There are bills, countless bills that popup like whack-a-mole, medical issues, and traffic too. If you're lucky there's a vacation here or there, a concert, a sporting event, a birthday party, a kiss from a spouse, or just simply a hug from your toddler that helps to balance it all out. And every so often there's a chance to unwind with a book, a play, a movie or a video game like CoH, where we can momentarily escape into some other narrative than reality. If the OP goes that's on them and I wish them the best, but I've been out there, and it can definitely be brutal, enjoy the little things while you can.
  10. Make sure to add Whirlwind to the build.
  11. I'm of an age where we tend to play video games rather than watch others play them. Perhaps the younger crowd might be interested in watching the video.
  12. I'm not opposed to that for the folks that need it. I'm like you Krimson in that we play with no sound for the game. If I did, I'm sure my wife would tell me to turn it down because she's trying to hear Dating on the Spectrum, or Love is Blind, or some Home Renovation show on TV.
  13. @Infinitum and @PLVRIZR I'll check it out on test when I get a chance later. I mean I like melt armor all all that, but I'd have to juggle around some powers/slots. I got the toon up to 26 now, so maybe I'll have it ready for next Tuesday's TT, depending on how much time I am able to put in to it.
  14. I'm definitely alright with glowies having their own sound slider. That seems like a reasonable QoL request.
  15. I'm not against allowing the existing slow to be enhanceable. I'm against removing the fear/avoid aspect of it. Blasters, corruptors, defenders all can take mace mastery for example and use web envelope as an AoE immobilize to keep mobs in rain of fire. By not taking a power that immobilizes the targets in rain of fire you're making a conscious decision to choose to let them be able to run out of it.

  17. Congrats on finding a toon that works for you. Sometimes even coming up with a character concept is enough to make a powerset combo work.
  18. My favorite zone in the game from a design standpoint is Cascade Archipelago. I just wish the shard was Co-op and there was more content out there. I imagine that we have quite a few players on HC that have never even been out to the shadow shard.
  19. So taking all three of your counsel into account, I rolled it as a fire/fire tank, but will likely go energy mastery in this one. I normally don't match powersets, so that's a bit of a change for me, but I was playing around in mids with it and was honestly surprised. I hadn't looked at fiery aura for tankers since back on live.
  20. For controllers I play plant/trick arrow, plant/nature, and plant/storm. For domis I play plant/earth, plant/thorn, and plant/psy. Over the years I've come to the conclusion there is no bad pairing with plant.
  21. I did a bit of a deeper dive on it... Scrapper and Stalker focused acc/targeting drone has the 69.2% value. Defender/controller/corruptor black scorpion focused acc has 55.36%. note controller and corruptor are the only two ATs that.have access to Focused accuracy with a tohit bonus of lower than 5%, corruptors get 4.25% and controllers get 4%.
  22. I checked Brutes just now and the Black Scorpion version is identical between Brutes and Tankers. The Energy Epic version is 69.2% on brutes vs tankers 86.5%. Math wise tankers energy focused accuracy is 25% better than brutes version. This makes sense as buff modifiers are higher on tanks than brutes. This kind of buff values ratio should apply to the black scorpion focused accuracy as well but doesn't. Additionally since the states/end cost are the same the powers should have the same stat for tohitdebuff resistance based on AT modifiers.
  23. Both Focused Accuracies have the same end cost and identical stats on COD except for tohitdebuff resistance. Energy Epic gets a version with 86.5% thdb resistance while black scorpion's mace version gives 48.44%. See below... https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=epic.energy_mastery.focused_accuracy&at=tanker https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=epic.brute_mace_mastery.focused_accuracy&at=tanker
  24. If money troubles are a problem for a new toon...take inner inspiration, sell those inspirations on the AH. You can get a travel power at lvl 4, install an exploration badge popmenu and go collect badges for the reward merits, buy converters and sell them. You should easily have enough influence to buy low level SOs. Also you can shut off the double XP booster and get influence from killing mobs. Or you can call up Yomo for his patronage.
