Can anyone improve on this build? (DB / Ninjitsu)
Without_Pause replied to Story Archer's topic in Scrapper
It does seem weird to have the more exotic damage types having for Res than S/L which is going to be more common. I feel like I could name most of the mobs who do Cold. Even if not true, my point remains in that Cold really isn't used that much across mobs as a whole. -
Soloing for Level 1? Earth will output lower damage. Grav will be fine. Plant will be the stronger of the three. In terms of group play? Any. Really. In the day and ago of teams which seem to blow through tons of content, any. I had a Earth/storm on live. I'm still not sure in the day and age of where I used common IOs how I maintained End at a decent enough level to tolerate it because Storm is an End bar destroyer if you want it to be. But, my freaking word, it is an absolute control beast. I had a team literally knowing whatever they tried to do I could maintain it, see the group splitting three ways. Earth/storm was the build I used as revenge in the 30 Fir Bolg mission in Croatoa. Now that IO sets exists and I have gotten used to doing builds, it is one of the only builds from Live I have been tempted to redo, The argument could be made it has too much control. In the day and age of steamrolling, I can concede seeing the point. Honestly, you could do +4/x8 teams with intentionally having fewer people join and be way more than fine. You will be an absolute control god while doing some damage due to procs. I have a Plant/storm at 50. I need to get it a build because there's just so little downside to the build as an overall Controller. Storm backed by a solid control/damage set just adds to it. Again, if you are soloing at Level 1, I would deem this to be the better pick. I leveled it using common IOs. I don't recommend that. At least do the typical Stamina/Health IO slotting. I had a Grav/ta in the 30s. Grav is fine as a Controller set. Wormhole is about the only thing special about it. As a hater of long animations, I find the ridiculously fun but far too damn long animation of Propel not worth taking. TL; DR. My head says Plant. My heart says Earth.

Discussion: Increase Mission Completion Rewards Significantly

Habashy, DFB, Hollows, Posi. That's my typical pathway. I remember doing Perez Park back on Live. Just navigating that forest was a mess. -
It could simply be someone who hasn't touched a PC in a while as they are off doing other things. As someone who works in IT, I sure do wish I had that ability at times.

This essentially describes the latest Deadpool movie.

I haven't looked at the latest build, but it doesn't seem like this was addressed. RoP has a long recharge which can't be altered. It's helpful to rotate it with Melee or use the Alpha to boost Res numbers as well. I would rather go Tough + Weave + Epic Armor than work in RoP. I like RoP on Def based melee characters who already are getting their armor in their primary or secondary. Sonic can offer the ability to have rather high Res across the board if you build for it.

Do inspirations have an equal chance of dropping?
Without_Pause replied to MikeSol's topic in General Discussion
As someone who solos x8 a lot, no. Blues and Greens for understandable reasons drop the most. -

3. Mission length. People can hop in and out quickly. Sure, I solo on a higher diff setting and thus missions will take longer, but I don't think it is unreasonable to say a radio mission can be blown through in 5-10 minutes. I have soloed content missions which took 30-45 minutes easily. The second to last mission in Johnny Sonata's arc has so many waves of ambushes. So freaking many and the bosses rez. You get at most 3 waves of ambushes in a radio mission. For my boredom factor, radio missions all use the same template for the map instances to where I feel like I could complete some of them blind. I've literally looked down a hallway and went, "I know what the rest of that looks like." -

I know it goes against the current system, but it would have been nice if you talked to an out leveled contact, they simply let you know their range, and then you played their missions exempted. FTR, I vastly solo with doing story arcs as the content is harder, more engaging, and offers things like unique maps. The only thing more mind-numbing than farms is radio missions which seems to be the overwhelming thing to do on teams outside of TFs. -
Things from the same source don't stack.

FYI, if you use the same -Res proc in a build and they all trigger, they don't stack. They would at best lengthen how long the -Res lasts. Infrigidate and Benumb need Acc to hit. I can see you dumped a bunch of influ into a build, but I'm not sure what you are building for. I don't see the point of 6-slotting Fire Blast with Apoc. Sure, it gives you 5% Def to Psionic, but you aren't building for Def anyway. You don't even have either of the +3% Def IOs. You can swap out/remove the slot for damage and still be more than fine. You skipped the shields so I lean on the idea it is a solo build, but your Def/Res numbers aren't much to write home about. I would 2-slot Power Transfer in Stamina with the Heal Self proc while leaving the PS proc. SS and Mystic Flight seems a bit weird. Having 8 pts. of KB protection should be fine.

Are there any powersets which are better on Brute than on other AT's ?
Without_Pause replied to Icono04's topic in Brute
Regen and EA since you can't get them on a Tanker. 😆 The bigger AoEs for the damage auras looks to win out on a Tanker versus a Brute, but hell if I'm not having fun on my Axe/stone. For melee sets, it gets harder. Savage could be in the conversation since it is so DoT based. It might overtake the bigger AoEs of a Tanker and the fact that Stalkers get a legit ST heavy hitter out of it, but DoT isn't really what a Stalker wants as it wants high burst damage. -
A group mezz would still work. Not saying it was taken at that point, and yellow inspirs likely needed, but it can be an option. I've seen a Dom flip Domination and that was pretty much it.

For attacks, I slot single target by default for basic slotting 1 Acc, 1 End, 3 Damage. 1 Recharge if I have slots. For multi-target, I swap out the recharge for another Acc. I would not slot a range in a power unless it is part of a IO set. If you are having end issues, I would look at slotting versus Incarnates. Heat Loss alone should cover you. The link below will cover much of your starting point slotting for things like Stamina and Health*. A lot/most people use Health as a way to add in more Recovery. I like adding the Preventive Medicine Absorb proc in Spirit Ward since it is global and thus always has a chance of firing. I would take Temp Invulnerability over Fore of Nature. Force of Nature has a low End cost anyway. * Ignore cost coming from the market. They are cheaper to a default.

Sentry was the one hero who could stand up to World War Hulk. Note, they really want to do a WWH movie.

Put Mids build into the game?
Without_Pause replied to TheMoncrief's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
This is what second monitors are for. 😀 -
To my knowledge those kick in for DA content as well.

People forget Claws because it only has two powers for KB/KD. Note, Shockwave and Focus have 100% KD/KB. Compare this to other sets where it might be 80%. Also note how fast those powers recharge. Plus, Shockwave is ranged so it can do its KB/KD as an alpha strike. I leave the ATOs to be slotted in Spin, but one could if they wanted to put a +Chance for KD into Spin and likely get good use out of it.

Looking for a non-busy ranged combo to play.

Disclaimer: I'm rather ignorant about Seismic Blast, so I'm not the one to do a build for it. I can still easily see issues with said build though. Sprint. 3-Slotting Quickfoot is odd for a few reasons. The Celerity set offers the same set bonuses but better, and it also adds in Stealth. While yes, it offers less End Reduc, this should be a non-factor unless you actively have it toggled on 100% of the time. Spoiler alert, don't do that. Even still, you have an IO's worth of End Reduc. If you are to slot Sprint beyond the single slot, 2-slot it and call it as day. The End Reduc isn't really worth it nor the 3-slot bonus. Stamina. 3-slotted while getting 2ish slots worth of End. 2-slotting Performance Shifter will do similar and likely better in one less slot. Phase Shift. I don't understand taking the power when slotting +Stealth in Sprint is an option. It's also an end hog. Teleport Target. Maybe justifiable if soloing, but even then I highly question its usefulness. I could see justifying on some level going for Fold Space, but not for a Fire/sonic Corr. I leave Fold Space to melee characters, and even then I haven't taken it. Web Envelope. I can see adding it in if you are a Controller needing AoE containment, but I just don't see the need for it. It certainly isn't worth 6 slots when powers are underslotted. Also, I don't think I have ever slotted for Immobilization. A proc from the set? Sure. Scorpion Shield. I won't debate this too much, but I have seen some people grab a Res based armor to take with Sonic to really max out the Res. Also, Scorpion Shield is taken, but neither of the +3 Def IOs are used. It begs the question of what the build is being built for. Tough. Instead of 6-slotting Web Envelope, you could take say Hasten and use those extra slots to put in both +3% Def IOs here or elsewhere. Also, Impervious Skin is capped at Level 30, which means you are only getting 26.13% Res out of the power compared to 54.16% if you used a set which went to level 50. And no, the set bonus from Impervious Skin at that point isn't worth it considering the higher values alone counter it. Add in having the slots to add in 5-slotting Gladiator's Armor, you also get KB protection. Acrobatics. It's been awhile since I've seen a build take this. An argument could be made for using Fly and grabbing Evasive Maneuvers for your KB protection. Yes, I am aware Acrobatics covers Holds as well. Even in this day and age, I don't take this power. Super Jump. Again, unless you have this toggled on 100% of the time, the End Reduc does you nothing. If you want to go cheap, a common Jump IO would be better. Sonic Barrier/Sonic Haven. Add a slot to each and you get +6 S/L Res in bonus values plus whatever Res slotting you add in. Stopping at the added HP point just feels odd. Shatter. I can not fathom on any level why a T2 ST blast would be slotted out for its debuff. I don't even do this on a Defender. If the +3% Def IOs were slotted you wouldn't even really need the 6-slot bonus. Seismic Force. Not taken and can be used with a single +Chance for Build Up IO. That this was skipped while Teleport Target was taken is all sorts of WTF? You're a Corr, be a Corr. Again, what is the build being built for? Tombstone. Taking and 6-slotting Web Envelope while not taking the snipe on a Corr is about as bad of a build choice as one can see. As a genuine die on the hill ranter against long animations in this game, Tombstone doesn't even qualify as it animates in under 2 seconds. The best justification is wanting to focus on support, but there's literally two other ATs better for that, and it's far easier to support a team when something is dead. In other words, when making a build, ask yourself what is the goal of the build. Why that power, why that set, and why that many slots. The build in question is functional in that it will work at a basic level. Due to set bonuses one could argue it is better than an SO build. That still doesn't make it good. Switch in a couple powers, move a few slots, and it would suddenly be at least decent. -
Recycle, repurpose, convert or buy
Without_Pause replied to COH Radgen's topic in General Discussion
Pretty much this. If I felt the need to strip out IOs from an alt, I am doing so since I am deleting the character. I have 15 Level 50s on my main account. I email their extra earnings to the lower level characters, and I use a spreadsheet for the current build status and finance situation each of my characters are in. Level 50s are either fully done or use common IOs with having 500 mill on hand for the conversion when I want to do their final build. My current target goal is anyone under 50 having 200 mill on hand. I have a plan for getting my next 5 characters to 50 in say Oct. which would put me roughly having 2/3 of my roster on my main account at 50. My biggest stop gap for not having a character at 50 is honestly a lack of a build. -
I hold back inspirs for that fight, but I also don't assume others do. Posi 1 is the one TF with the widest variance of how teams do. Even by Posi 2, teams are fairly competent at completing it smoothly.

Half way to paradise! (well lvl 50 actually)
Without_Pause replied to Jacktar's topic in General Discussion
You don't have to take them that early. Pop a respect once you hit 50 so they are taken earlier with the proper slotting. -

I have significant reservations about that build. I can do at least a partial breakdown if need be when I have the time. -
I have everything outside of N/T/P softcapped on my EA Brute. The ones softcapped can be Incarnate capped with the use of Incarnates with Neg. being softcapped. 1. See the link below and install the file where needed. 2. Create your build in Mids. 3. File -> Export -> Export Build to Beta Server. 4. Select the folder where Homecoming is installed. For me this is C:\Games\Homecoming. 5. Log into Beta. 6. Create the character with the same name as in Mids. 7. Use the /popmenu freebies command. 8. Set Level -> Level 50. 9. Train to 50. 10. /popmenu <character's name> 11. Use the first option. You now have part one of two loads of IOs. 12. Slot said IOs. 13. Repeat the command again and grab the rest of your IOs. 14. Finish slotting your character. I did an SS Brute at one time, but the build was hardly done and I didn't even save that, so this is by no means a 1:1 kind of thing, but here's my Claws/ea Brute so you have ideas for the EA side of things. I think he solos essentially on +1/x8, but he's early in getting Incarnates. I don't have a SR Brute built out yet although I have two SR Scrappers done. |MBD;23755;1387;1852;BASE64;| |G8pcYKwKeHMO5cToYFAN3FEqbwe/zy31lw0C/DlT9kxpmi6m/GscCHNte9vCPyG7LZ9| |gNMnS1dc6LCBd3abnM0Jdlfo6P6vqmauja0a95cBLsGIMss2fa9d/WksT7c6GZhJWIk| |ItzASYFMIcu1sZUIk7GWGACig9aZG/at53PSErVEBVCNm6Qh/+ZlNJ5eSz9ZcAiy1LT| |roOXkXubxTi4w6xd8ElPT42kcOREoK/UvCsqykR/BYiOpERvwjMO4xnuYE4d7u8w/BB| |yl96BbTa3cWFvQQ/iRJxlFwhXSfDwnWF79nEhOXBcy9slJu9bq8X/lnLJ+bywEYZklU| |Fx4M2ZdcnMoqPd9lBFxSobBA9pRtVtSL9sEprKY5z6QVWL60neGfRv+55Y+mD9sfSZ8| |MVa2MJb2kv6gddavnJ6sRx3uLpmylCqSp8mHNuPjuVzdjSD9VKlydKqa7Xo5IzhlVXE| |UNv9uur3aZq56a92rwAfR93P4YNOCw/dWX4k3nn0+rcRA3+eIyp0nz73hGvU/dWKtiX| |3zgWD1t6A9/ofE90+kVfdMVv4aITnn35PWO97Gxz4amnbjuAL1gJVzn1Zt/4H6myN/q| |buvbs/P9Wmgk283/R9S2GlEY1BNpLV+Xg6aabVSmKuI1WiWESoAiJw6SBTHMQbVvPKM| |fY4xrB9lyW3YFKz/83cQNgUwj2kcsnQBFyXz4NSpJ5DcH8vENUEdQBJW6gNCDjPSz2F| |25hsuRIMQWpHZcWi6/Bg2NbbI+7ELT0Em2HKTKPodMtf0XbHApLsQfl8Z9uzb7JA/MA| |hth3MC9gjH2B/kiVH5P8GO1tO6Vs6ZK+vYyihdm0KvJRQM2bkXwTGGHVh2/DRk5/ro0| |tfe0fYKQMI6mVVbxE6Cf2gJfzKvHcsB5krE9gIVgfa8pdOJcHhc91pNI9ZngUX+6YG3| |7JmXv0sLgk2fZDXDxQBRMlHPQpZhXACNnBsnmLnjHdWCN9NFL4EdOWFWydMyKfYltlI| |SR6FOqK4dRifgMvgnexEtx9XMwcJW4crDLw6V2kf2T2eDvRMgAbwV4Smkz/GjqzB48u| |1MokYFLAGHmfyUQA6fTJsqmLn44NwEgZRnJD0rmby/oPUON503FL6m1F94Qzpm40QOG| |RFXRLpjb+brpaXlw7R8LaXGAhWN0TrsV0Gj0BnRSsV6P8uSOltHxx2zwG0fCeobRYY7| |WnE38EsEfKRHsl1ryx93sJ9RbSKZZLwKWAMRKPs6S+Ps91GIX1DZH5EFG/CrEu0ONNQ| |wZsBPu/0OdMMQ7isosVAWuwaDacahhgQ2CXcCtoTurXv/Vz91c22FbGgDGZv+Ig9lea| |Mpy91nmMRHjcT3S6ti3m6Wp5dqgd9m4Zj7yQzCvglcAI6eLVQKf9zr7BFxLw2DNmZzJ| |GjqwWJMmR/cgskxJL22GjkePRTfntXDftAbDh1jwGG8ZtiOYWwAiWd4p3gpFDEpts9O| |uWVHNpxgBqohV3mcaDfmHrtWh5UmP6gCF3edpUJ1Wpo1m5QGskI2T5LFjR3AIYYoHhV| |qCYmh+QHC81g1WpX6unad+Aj+Cv502+bFX9zyKBg+C8ufGJELag+rHK/u77RacUR2Q8| |cl86E2310p958gOEc78H70pWazacv1Qn4Un5tmifWJ6bKoZhWMdVe44IhUsuL3tUA6X| |47CyPI3IGN+FW3Vaj/h2ef4v1JfdD+nP8ytSPd0Xya2MXDhCYwU1zkD9x1TYnyXfync| |nSQuGbwOQYkv25xEXDRy/Pr5NhCCyUGVtv3br3m+jmO6NGa0u5I+o65PO+hcVoDUeMt| |Xx8DQyI6H9pDru4wzXrihuEZjqE5UbDqE7jxKV3Ng==|
