  1. This sounds like terrible reasoning for moving Claws to C. "You think removing its best attack is bad? Well, here's two other reasons why its conversion sucks." I love Claws. Money would need to be involved for me to play the Stalker version.
  2. I already covered my error in understanding the context of what was being said. I still find it interesting that AE/farming was impacted in a negative way in Page 4. Player numbers haven't seem to gone up despite the new Page being out. The dirt cheap market is even cheaper. The market during Page 3's release absolutely went up. Yet people are still going, "You know, we need to curb faming even more." I have over 3 billion sitting. The vast majority of that comes from the market and not farming. I might dual box for a bit once every so many months. If farming was genuinely gone, and don't ask me how that actually happens since Unai Kemen exists, but its legit removal would essentially end my playing time for CoH. In the land of things CoH needs to fix, farming isn't the win you think it is. The only farming the HC team needs to worry about is faming more talent for their team.
  3. 1. I realized this was more about AFK farming than anything else after I logged off. 2. I have never seen an AFK farm advertised, like, ever, and I play on Excel. I'm not saying AFK farms with additional people don't happen. I'm saying in terms of advertisement, that's BY FAR on the low end. Meanwhile full team farms with one person doing all of the work happen like breathing. 3. To say it would curb door sitting is outright naïve. I know maps were a door sitter could spend their time doing a fine jig of back and forth in complete safety.
  4. So basically don't plan on playing if you feel like you will ever get distracted.
  5. FYI, I can cakewalk clearing the Big Mob tunnel in under that while dual boxing. I've done runs in 11+ minutes and I know I can get faster. The space map would be in a similar situation.
  6. The nice thing about Claws is it can keep things around due to KD. Saying that, Claws/ea is about as much of a holy grail build I am going to find for a Scrapper.
  7. Good luck adding in a timer. What qualifies for it to turn off and how long would it go before kicking in? Asking because genuine AFKing is a thing.
  8. The problem with this recommendation is how slow it would solo. I prefer using a debuff based primary if I am going to solo a Defender.
  9. Define outdoor? There is the space map. Battle Maiden maps tend to be the go to outdoor maps. I was using a classic cave map only to find the tunnel one(Big Mobs) more sane for me. All I do to search for stuff is put in 'fire' into the search bar and go from there.
  10. I've been taking a break from the game. I do recall during the last Page update the market was active and prices went up. I have started to occasionally log on to work on day job badges and do some marketing. Looks like by all accounts prices are cheaper than ever and even the LotG: +Recharge is capping at 6 mill, which 7 was an easy sell before. I went and looked at player numbers and in all honestly there doesn't look to be much of any upswing in people playing despite the new Page coming out.
  11. You'll need the heavier attacks to function with /rad. Since it hasn't been mentioned, I would offer up Rad/ice. /ice is defensive enough to help out a defender and the slows will keep things in range of the toggles.
  12. I could probably cut my play list of 30-40 characters down to a Claws/ea Scrapper and a Fort. I might want to add in a support character, but that would be about it.
  13. A Stalker dictates the initial strike. This means before the battle has started, it has already moved in favor of a Stalker. It is harder, but not impossible due to ranged attacks, to do the same with a Blaster. A Stalker can do the minimum for a mission. Again, a Blaster could do the same, but it will take more effort to do so, and a Stalker can do it at level 1. Stalkers have built in mitigation. Even if a Blaster can get similar or equal amounts of mitigation in the end(Incarnates), a Stalker gets it much earlier. "What about ambushes?" And? I get what Hide offers, but considering most of the time I'm attacking isn't while in Hide, then not having it isn't a big deal. I'm more annoyed if I'm trying to Stealth for speed reasons and I'm forced to fight, but again, a Blaster doesn't have an advantage here either.
  14. Still not the equivalent of actual taunt auras. To the topic on hand, if I want to run brain dead radios, I would bring something like Rad/stone or maybe /bio Brute, Plant/ta Controller, or a Fire/kin. At that point people are mostly there to be my audience.
  15. Unless you took Taunt or similar power, you have no way to actually hold aggro on a Stalker, so no, you did not actually tank. You might have gone in first, but that isn't actual tanking. Hell, my support characters would be classified as tanks if all it took was going in first.
  16. Considering how often I take Taunt, I am far closer to a Scrapper.
  17. One of the few ATs I don't have at 50 is a Tank. Not like I haven't tried. If there is one AT I would reach for in terms of radios, a Tank ain't it. A Brute can cakewalk +4/x8 radios on a team.
  18. Holding aggro and buffing/healing teammates tend to be different ATs. Honestly, the bar for radios is so slow I would say */*.
  19. Better than /shield? Does /ea's 20% +recharge win out?
  20. The answer will always be a /fire Brute as long as it can cap S/L Def/Res. I might still take it even if the numbers aren't 100% there. /dark only really offers a damage aura for added speed, so it would rank low for a set with a damage aura. /fire has that, EF and Burn, which is currently tweaked a bit too good. If not /fire, than /bio as the damage aura and Offensive Adaptation will win out versus anything else. Even /elec with it's +recharge would be better than /dark. For primaries, Rad is the current answer for as long as ideal slotting for IG can be 6 slotting procs. Saying that, having one of each at 50 and near completion: Farming: Rad/fire > * Non-Farming: Rad/bio > Rad/fire. I don't have one, but a more than good enough to farm and just one of the best overall would be Rad/stone. It might be 3rd for farming just to give a number, but it is definitely in the 'world breaker' conversation.
  21. I would lean towards going Brute for /dark. I would do /ea or /sr for a Scrapper.
  22. Stalker/Scrapper with /nin can work. You get added movement speed with your mezz protection. StJ would work with both as it has smooth quick cast times. For Scrappers, I would add in Kat or Claws.
  23. I think Claws/rad is fine on a Scrapper. I can see doing it on a Brute as well. Spin has lower recharge on a Scrapper so it is definitely a case of do you want to be more offensive or sturdier?
  24. BS on a Stalker has less AoE although you are only missing out on a cone. The advantage to Shield on a Stalker is Shield Charge doesn't break Hide so you can use it and then follow up with something else and the follow up will crit. In short, there's nothing about the combo which really swings one way or the other.
  25. They took the best attack for Claws and removed it. They took an AoE with a long animation time and made it ST. In other words, it got rid of two AoE, but you get two high damage ST attacks and one with a long animation time. So yay? If they had switched Evis for AS, that would be easily be an S tier set and might even outdo the Scrapper version which is likely why they didn't do it, but damn, the alternative was brutal.
