  1. Conversely..some people are way too thin skinned. I actually take /jranger as just lazy reply that is like saying "Hard pass." I have never associated any ill will towards the poster when people reply with that.... You may suggest 10 super amazing awesome ideas... and all ten may be shot down.... it is the nature of the beast. You are dealing with a game that has been around for 15 years... changes are not always welcomed when dealing with players who are accustomed and like the status quo. I find most ideas are simply too complicated..bring nothing of merit to the game..and frankly would make it more boring/too easy. My main objection to yours is that I think it owuld divide the playerbase even further.
  2. Ugh would you two just F already and get it over with.
  3. I've been observing AP the past few days because of this thread. The people who seem to populate AP Plaza the most... higher level people standing around talking in local about inane stuff. Last night I watched a group of 6 level 30+ 10 feet from Ms. Liberty talking about pokemon, their costumes, KFC, and a bunch of other stupid stuff. Here's an idea to help reduce the lag in AP Plaza... go somewhere else ike Pocket D or your SG base if all you are gonna do is stand around. Then again it's easier to complain and ask for changes to the code instead of actually doing something about it. At one point one of them even said "Man it got laggy there for a minute..."
  4. No thanks. We already have things that unofficially differentiate the servers... we do not need more division of them.
  5. I could get behind that... but then I hope you are ready for the.... Ugh it is so hard to get to pocket D... I need a power to just get there... (That power already exists, but people will whine it is soooo expensive LOL). They will also find a reason why getting the power via day job is just too much work. If you haven't noticed - since HC launched there are a lot of whiners who want the game in absolute easy mode.... Talking about this made me think of the Vault in Pocket D, so here's another thought: why not just also install all that TP stuff in Pocket D as well? Why not let Pocket D be the "SG base for everyone" and be done with that?
  6. No. It is already easy enough to get to 50. HC has already stated there won't be anything like your suggestion (any type of instant anything..which is basically what you are asking for...). CoH has always been about encouraging alts... which in turn encourages the number of people to play with at various levels.
  7. Nowhere near as easy to code as you think... especially if you are involving storage. You're wanting them to turn "Generic SG" into a zone.. for starters... zones have limits and are always open...taking up resources. Then you run into the problem of 50 people trying to access their vault..insp holder..enhancement trays all at once in a small area... talk about draining resources. No you don't want that idea.. everyone then would have to.. wait for it.. open up their own instance of the Generic base.... causing more strain on the servers. I see no problem that warrants the creation of this idea, but I do see the technical nightmare and server side issues such an implementation would cause.
  8. LOL MOO MASTERY ;) Someone was being funny... it is Mu :)
  9. Your hyperbole ("It has to be the #1 source of discord.....") aside... no thank you. While I do not find most of these sounds to be pleasant... there is (as you pointed out) already a way to fix this "problem." If something bothers you THAT much... take the 5 minutes it takes to change the file. I particularly enjoy the sound of sonic blast. I don't think this is a big enough issue that requires any dev time since players can already (and many do) modify the sounds on their end... especially the glowie sound.
  10. Nope. If it takes you 50 levels to realize you do not like the character works - that's on you. There will not be an easy "I WIN" button to change primary or secondaries... has already been stated by HC that such things will not be a part of the server. Influence and experience are super easy to earn on HC... the game is already easy enough without anything remotely like what you suggest.
  11. Uhh we were farming in Issue 1 - you may just not have been aware of it hehe. Sure the farms have changed, but for the most part they are all basically the same - lots of baddies and lots of damage. Dumpster farms, Family Farms, BM Farms, Infernal City farms, Council City Map, AE farms, etc etc... Granted dumpsters are no more.... family was nerfed... but the others are still very much around.
  12. Then don't claim that it will be easy to implement if you don't know how difficult it will be.
  13. 1. I do not need to back off the HC Devs. When they do a screw up they should be called out on it. I am utterly grateful for the work they have done in bringing back and maintaining the game, but that doesn't absolve them from the mess they created when they "fixed" a bug. They knew the effect it would have on Rage and yes ... they knew that this effect was not wanted by the playerbase...and yet they did it anyways. So no I will not back off calling out something which could have easily been avoided...or fixed immediately afterwards. Just because I am grateful does not mean I cannot complain about the methodology/actions of the development team. 2. I do not care that you are a veteran player. I played from day 1 to the last second. I beta tested for 17 issues. I had meetings with original devs regarding powersets. I was actively involved in the creation and modification of numerous powersets including Rage which was debated over the course of many issues. The -Defense crash was not something that; regardless of description, was ever implemented and for good reason. Nowhere did I say the devs were incompetent....etc etc.. what I said was they tend to make decisions without input and without considering the effects it will have on the playerbase...if you consider that disrespectful you may want to upgrade to a thicker skin. The Rage issue has been one since HC launched (actually before when we were on SCoRE) and has not been resolved. 20+ pages - mainly in support of making changes to Rage to make SS on par with other sets... should tell you this is an issue that many do care about. I am one of the biggest cheerleaders of HC, BUT that does not mean I do not see the flaws in SOME of their internal methodologies; especially those which have affected so many people. Sit down. Back off the HC Devs, they are Gamers just like the rest of us, and they don't answer to you, and don't have to answer you. They are not selling you a product, they are providing you a place to play CoH, for free. Yet the HC Devs have stated numerous times in this thread that the 'Fix' to Rage was not a fix directed at Rage, and have stated that there is interest in Rage, so they are willing to talk with us about CoHH and their changes. From what I've seen so far their changes are pretty positive, and I would not be surprised to find out that there are some CoHV Devs hidden in their group. You don't like what the HC Devs have done, then state it, along with potential fixes. Argue with the rest of us, that's fine, hells argue with the CoHH Devs, but you don't disrespect them. If it's bad enough, walk, there are supposed to be other CoH groups out there; hells, make your own little CoH playground. Or was this show of disrespect, your words as you were walking out of the CoHH door? Well you know what they say about doors and backsides. This comes from a veteran player who does not give a fuck about Rage, and never has. A veteran player who does have an opinion about the people who are crying, now that they have to pay the price that the description says they have to pay. A veteran player who has read 23 pages of crying, and chosen not to say anything... up till now. Note, I think that a mix of Resistance and Defense Debuff would be fair.
  14. TF timers are 20 hours not 7 days. I always giggle when people say things like "it can't be that hard to implement." and then say: Please provide the needed code for such an easy implementation.
  15. Why are there two identical threads started by posters with 1 post count?
  16. It didn't need changed in the first place. The original devs recognized this and had NO PLANS to implement the -Defense aspect of the rage crash. This whole issue is the HC "devs" doing. This issue was debated for MONTHS on Live between the development and beta testing community and was resolved with leaving the -Def aspect out of Rage crash. I have lost complete faith that anything will be done to Rage and that the HC is actually less inclined to listen to players than the original devs (who were at times completely stubborn on issues). The HC team seems to like to do things without looking at the actual effect it will have on players...and then backtracking if it is easy to do so...when people complain. This issue alone has caused a lot of grief for many veteran players...quite a few who have abandoned the game. I had a SS toon on Live - while it was not my main.. I do miss playing them, but see no sense in recreating a gimped version of them that requires Incarnates or a constant supply of purples to perform near what they did before this poorly implemented "solution."
  17. It is called Ninja Run - not Ninja Jump. It's a themed run power which offers slightly better movement speed than sprint with some additional jump. It was never meant as a substitute for Super Jump. Powers in the game are created around balance and not roleplaying - for this reason it was NEVER enhanceable. From the wiki: A combination of quickness and acrobatic grace, Ninja Run allows you to move at high speed, whether on the ground or leaping from rooftop to rooftop. This power is not as fast as Super Speed, nor will it allow you to jump as well as Super Leap, however it is considerably better than the Fitness powers Swift and Hurdle. NOTES: This power cannot be used with (and will detoggle) Pool Travel Powers such as Super Speed, Super Jump, or Combat Jumping. However, it can be combined with Sprint (and Sprint variants like Prestige Power Slide), the Jump Pack, passive Movement Powers such as Swift and Hurdle, and any variation on Flight powers such as Fly, Hover, or the Raptor Pack. While toggled on, Ninja Run replaces your normal at-ease posture with a crouch, but does not interfere with emotes. To distinguish it visually from other leaping powers, you perform a flip at the top of your arc when jumping. There are three different jumping animations: jumping forward, jumping backward, and jumping diagonally. To distinguish it visually from other running powers, the forward and backward running animations are an anime running style, stereotypical for anime ninja type characters. Additionally, when running backward, the character actually turns to face the camera and looks over their shoulder instead of actually running backward. Type Inherent Toggle: Self +Run Speed, +Jump Restrictions Available at Level 4 Can not be used in conjunction with Travel Powers Recharge Instant Effects 445 + ( 5 * Level ) % jump height on self 109.45 + (0.55 * Level) % jump speed on self 99.184 + (0.816 * Level) % run speed on self Endurance 0.46/sec Enhancements takes none Note that these are the same stats as Beast Run (see below). They are effectively the same power but with differing animations. Ninja Run may be purchased through the Paragon Market. Isn't that what taking Super Jump, Fly or Teleport solves? Isn't that the point of those powers - to get places you couldn't get to before faster? Ninja run/beast run are supposed to be better than sprint (they are) and less than a travel power (so they should stay)... So my ninjutsu character, running Ninja Run and the /ninjutsu move speed power in tandem, thematically -- you're saying this character should have to toggle that off for a "real" travel power to get over these things, and that's what the balance of this game hinges on? I'd honestly be happier if Ninja/Beast Run were slot-able pool powers, but that's not the universe we live in, so there is no reason to oppose this outside of required man-hours. After turning away from a mission on the other side of one of those Steel Canyon walls specifically to buy a beefy Enhancement for Hurdle and coming back, found I wasn't jumping any higher. Looked at the Enhancement again and realized it specifically says "increases jump speed by x%" and nothing about height.
  18. I misread your post... where you said "There are no summer events..." Was thinking you didn't know that... there were. My bad. Yes, and if this post was about Overwhelming Force enhancements that might be relevant.
  19. I'm all for power supression in places like WW or University, but absolutely not in an open zone.
  20. You do know the Summer Blockbuster can be done via the LFG tab (Holiday) right? 120 merits worth of TF's plus farming sounds like a lot of daily grinding to me. Not everyone has that kind of time. I'm talking about making rewards that are useful for mid level toons available to mid level toons, and to more casual gamers. Adding ATO's to the reward rolls is reasonable. There are no special events (Summer Blockbuster, winter event) that make them easier to get, as per Shinobu's suggestion. (And that suggestion certainly has merit, but I don't see it happening any time soon.)
  21. This is why the people I run with do task forces on +4x8...even if only 3-4 of us :) There are already mechanics/methods to make them more difficult. FYI... if your team is already wiping a lot... making it more difficult seems silly. Think maybe you just need to team with better players who actually challenge themselves by doing max reputations for task forces.
  22. I'm all for looking at and balancing powers, but when presented with hyperbole I just can't get behind it. If it takes you 2.5 bil to do a reallly good build then you are doing it wrong. That would be: 26.5 Million PER enhancement.... uhhhh most enhancements (yes even pvp) max at 20mil except SOME purples which max at 25 mil). If all you are using are purple and pvp IOs.. again..doing it wrong.
  23. I don't ever have an issue - then again I usually got to the highest number AP there is. As for diabling Ms. Liberty's costume ability - No. Lots of times people create a character - get in game - realize they messed up their costume - Liberty allows them to fix it right away.
  24. This would require A LOT of coding and here is why: Smashing is resisted A LOT in the end game... Psi... not so much. So if you simply take an attack that does 100 smashing damage and then convert that to Psi... your attack is more powerful now than it was ever intended to be. So in order to offset this the IO would have to be scaled for each type of damage and each type of modifier for each attack. Not to sound rude, but the type of damage is baked intot he powers - if you want to do a different type of damage - that is what alts are for.
  25. Makes a suggestion People disagree with the need for suggestion Gets defensive Insinuates those with differing opinion are toxic.... Oh the irony. There is no NEED for your suggestion. It will not save anyone a bunch of time. I can think of numerous ways to get to Cimerora that all take less than 90 seconds. The devs have more important things to worry about than your need to click a button to save 90 seconds. You act like your suggestion had merit aside from aiding lazy and impatient people who can't be bothered to travel for 1.5 minutes. I have NEVER in the hundreds of times I've been in/lead an ITF had people complain it took them too long to get there. This isn't a problem affecting/bothering thousands (especially hobbling them.... if they are hobbled its probably because they didn't take a travel power and that's on them). If this is going to be your reaction to people replying to your suggestions in disagreement...the forums are not the place for you. Not every idea is good. Not every idea has merit... and not every idea is worth the time and effort of an already stretched volunteer dev team. You are suggesting a fix to a problem that almost no one cares about.... FYI the negative innuendo and name calling - is not gonna win anyone over on any of your suggestions.
