  1. I understand that not all ATs are created equal in the offensive powers department. However... The OP knows how to play the game. He also chose to play a Dominator. I went heavy on the control with mine, and actually didn't use the Prestige powers all that much. however, I have only done the one mission so far. Things might change later in the arc. I would also like to say that this would be a good time to learn that not everything in the game is susceptible to mez controls. As I understood it, the OP was talking about a recent play session, and not something done 8 years ago. All that said, I don't really care for the arc all that much myself. It was ok, the first couple of times I ran it. It got old really fast for me.
  2. So far, I've only done the first mission in the Twinshot arc with my Dark/Dark Dominator, Dark Darkity McDark. At level 5 I have a ST immob (that does damage), a ST hold (that does damage), a cone Immob (that does damage), a ranged blast, the wand, Sands of mu, the axe, and the charm (Magic origin, not that it matters). That's 8 attacks that I can use at level 5. I don't see what the problem is. And, I didn't have any issues with the Arachnos group that showed up in the first mission. I'll be finishing up the arc sometime today. I guess I'll see if it gets any worse. Although I doubt it will. next level, I'll have access to yet another attack, unless I go with a pool power like Maneuvers.
  3. Before Fitness became inherent, I had taken it for all of 3 of my 50+ characters. I found it about as needed as Hasten or Boxing. I had viable builds that kept up with the teams I was on. All without Stamina. I will say that it was more useful than kick in most situations. I won't say that it was needed. But then, I was also the kind of person that liked to set up 14 trip mines to surprise a boss or 2.
  4. The problem that I have had with Mid's Reborn is the lack of Knockback set availability for the Merc Tier 1 pets. In the game you can slot KB sets (in may case, I wanted the KB to KD enhancement) in the Tier 1 and 3 pets. In Mid's It doesn't give that option for the tier 1 pets. Other than that, I haven't had any issues. Or issues that really bugged me.
  5. With appropriate IO set (Frank'n)'slotting, you don't need Hasten on a Warshade.
  6. I remember The ImagiNation Network before AOL bought it and closed it down. Also pay per minute...I learned budgeting VERY quickly back then.
  7. Agreed. I've played both and still prefer MoM over AoW (1, 2, or 3) If you like Space themed 4X then I'd suggest Galactic Civilizations III or Stellaris.
  8. I would point out that it takes a fundamental change in the way you think in order to choose to not be offended by what people say and/or do. I would point out that the vast majority of the human population would not want to put in the effort to make that fundamental change to their way of thinking. I would point out that being irritated, frustrated, or annoyed by something is not the same as being offended. I would point all that out, but, you're done with this thread.
  9. This is all a tangent from the original point I made in my first post. What it all boils down to is that how you react to any given stimuli is your choice. You can choose to be offended, or you can choose to react differently. Due to life experiences, it may be difficult to not react negatively to some situations. However, as a thinking, reasoning, being, you have that choice. Whether you have the will or desire to overcome some of the life experience programming you've gone through is on you. (Generally speaking, not focused on any one individual) Again, We will, most likely, be agreeing to disagree here.
  10. I'm going to have to use the Standard Code Rant from the Live forums, here. I can guarantee that you (that means everyone reading this post with the exception of those actually working on the code for CoH) have absolutely no idea how easy, or difficult, it would be to do add, take away, or alter any aspect of the game's functionality. During the Live run, the Dev had said that allowing the powers to be customizable was a herculean effort Because of how they had been coded initially. Yes, they managed to make them customizable. But it was no easy task. And, they had a lot more than just 2 people working on the code. I would also hazard a guess that most of the people reading this don't really have much experience (if any) with coding either.
  11. The typical person could communicate their thoughts to a great many people forty years ago. What limited them was the amount of effort they wanted to expend being heard. Unless you're wanting to say that people like Martin Luther King Jr. were born exceptional. They weren't. They were normal people who took extra effort to get their message heard. There are many examples of typical people who got their message heard by the entire country if not farther. Most of those people took a darker path to get that message heard. Yes, it is easier now to get a message across the entire world. It's also faster and easier to travel across the country. Doesn't mean that people couldn't do it 100 years ago. I can see that we are just going to have to agree to disagree here. You're not going to change my mind, and I am not going to change yours. We both have years of experience to back up our own views. In essence, we're just whistling in the wind.
  12. Wrong as in, the information is incorrect, or wrong as in that the behavior is not acceptable? I agree that the behavior is unacceptable. Actually, I disagree with a portion of this. People had all the tools they needed to express their offense decades ago. They just lacked the desire to work to express their offense. Others took an easy tool. Unfortunately, it didn't end well for them. Although, the news did give them their 15 minutes (now it would be about a week) of fame.
  13. Little history about myself. When I was growing up, I was picked on a lot. Bullied, more verbally than physically, since I was taller than most of the people I went to school with. I learned one simple thing early on. When people attempt to verbally bully me, I know that they are trying to tear me down to make them look better. So, it turns out that all of their name calling and what not is actually a compliment. I chose to not be affected by words. Fists, on the other hand still hurt. However, I'll stand my ground and I won't back down. That usually will back off the physical bully. See, the thing that a bully wants, is a fearful reaction. Don't give them that and they'll stop bothering you. It takes a strange mind to actually come up with something like that at the age of 10. I guess that means that I have a thick skin as well. But, you really can, if you train yourself to do it, choose to not be offended. The problem now days is that young "adults" have been raised to revel in being offended because they can get what they want if they show that they are offended enough. Mainly, what they want is attention. If that offends anyone, all I can say is that you do not have the right to not be offended. It is going to happen. What you can do is choose what you do with that offense. My suggestion would be to ... let it go. Because the cold never bothered me anyway.
  14. The main reason I say they were inexperienced, and it could be because they wanted job experience, but, the main reason is the undocumented code. The very first thing they teach in programming school is to document your code. Granted, not everyone follows that teaching.
  15. /Ninja Training Blasters make fairly decent mini controllers. they have a nice bag of ST control powers, in addition to melee attacks and stealth. Pair that with a primary that also has some control powers and you'll have a Blaster that can lock down a lot of things. Maybe not as well as a Controller, but still... back on live, I had an Ice/Ice blaster that routinely held bosses.
  16. In their defense, Cryptic was a brand new company and CoH was the very first game that they worked on. in a word (plus 2), they were Inexperienced.
  17. I used the maxinactivefps setting back on live. It does exactly what it says. If the window is inactive (not the one you're playing in while dual boxing on the same computer) it will be at 5 FPS. Once you start doing anything in that window, training, selling, enhancing, using awakens, the FPS goes back to normal.
  18. Um, my guess would be...you might need a bath? 🤔
  19. If I'm not mistaken /bind [key] "" should do the trick for you. I seem to recall that working at least. haven't tried it out recently.
  20. With Psychic Melee, you could ignore the Insight mechanic and do just fine. If you want to pay attention to it, then you'd want to time your use of Greater Psyblade for when you have Insight. Other than that, it's just a little added damage to some other powers on occasion. Generally, in the form of a DoT.
  21. I use the whole keyboard. left hand is on the left side, where it can reach the 1-0 keys (1-6 mostly), shift, alt, control, tab, and most of the utilitarian keybinds. the right hand is all for movement, including travel powers and elevation control. I do use the mouse for clicking doors and objectives...and the stupid ok boxes in the popup windows.
  22. I'm pretty sure this isn't a Punny name. I have a FF/Energy Defender named Agent Knockback 47. (you can call him AK47) His name is more a description of what he does rather than a play on words. By the time he's level 50, he'll have every KB power in his primary and secondary sets, half of which will be slotted for KB. I'm fairly sure that there will be an extremely small group of people that would be willing to team with him.
  23. I'm guessing I'm the only one here to use the numberpad for movement? I was never comfortable with wasd for movement. Interestingly enough, this is the only game I don't use the mouse for movement. Not really sure why that is.
  24. I need to make a correction. It isn't Stalgmites, that my brute uses Call of the Sandman in. It is Salt Crystals. Both are AoE. Salt Crystals is a PBAoE sleep. Stalagmites is a Targeted AoE damage. Still the gist of it all is the same. I use my PBAoE sleep power as a pseudo-heal, because of Call of the Sandman: chance to heal.
  25. Reminds me of the time a Stalker tried to AS a friend's Stone Armor Tank. The Tank didn't have any toggles running at the time. Stalker strikes, Tank doesn't want to PvP so heads for the zone exit. Stalker TPs Tank back, and AS's again. Still not a kill. Tank tries to leave again. Stalker TPs Tank again. Yet another strike. Still not a kill. Tank decides to toggle up. Stalker flees.
