What are we going to do tonight Brain?
-
Entrances for Pocket D can be found in KR, Talos Island, FF, and I think IP(?). hero side. The only entrance I know Villain side is in Port Oaks.

I haven't used any of my Emp Merits and I have tier 4 Alpha, Tier 3 Judgment and Lore, and tier 1 Interface. Had just got lucky with the Random Incarnate salvage while running the Heather Townsend arc (many times).

Yes, Rita can do so.

Have the talks with NCsoft slowed down content progression?
Twisted Toon replied to DR_Mechano's topic in General Discussion
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. -
That should work. I have a character that changes into a costume that has wings, says "flight mode", then activates fly. Granted, fly is a toggle and not a clicky. sometimes, they seem to function differently than clickies in keybinds.

YOU FORGET THE MOD REQUIREMENT FOR THIS THREAD...😁

Currently, the game supports all of those playstyles. Are you suggesting that they remove some of them? I think the main thing that this game did correctly was that it "catered" to many different play-styles. Which, drew more people to the game than a game focused solely on PvP or large group content. taking away some of those various play-styles will disillusion some of the player-base that preferred those play-styles, and we'd have fewer people playing the game.

I believe the premise before the game was shut down was that all ATs should be able to solo basic mission content. Should they easily solo that content? Probably not. But, they can solo it. Some ATs are designed to by DPM centric. Others are designed for for support. Not all ATs will be able to dish-out or take damage at the same rate. Balancing content for the many varieties of ATs that are available in this game is a nightmare. If you make something easy for the ATs that "struggle" in basic mission content, then you'll trivialize (even more) the same conent for those ATs that already find it easy. Then, you get to RP/thematic characters who are not built for optimal efficiency...

If you could redesign the inherent powers...
Twisted Toon replied to Gulbasaur's topic in General Discussion
If I were to tweak the inherants, I'd end up revamping the entirety of character creation. Basically, you'd start with baseline stats. That would be modified by what AT you chose (ATs are modifiers to the character). Tanks get more HPs and inherant DR, Defenders would get inherant Def, etc. Then, I'd allow any "AT" to use any offensive power-set, and any defense/support set. Caveat being, you'd have to choose one offensive set. I'd categorize control sets as offensive. That would make it easier to balance the power-sets. Also, I think it would make balancing the various ATs slightly easier as well. And it reduces the number of redundant power-sets, since there won't be a Scrapper Dark Melee and a Tank Dark Melee. -
Favorite Scenes That Get You PUMPED for Play!

On the Titan Network, I've seen people talk about Thor on the Rainbow Bridge in Ragnarok. Electric/Electric Brute/Scrapper -
My issue on live was the Stalker teams that liked to dual Assassin Strike you...while you were in the middle of fighting a group of Arachnoids.

I mentioned that to Mr. Emmert once and got told in a "voice" that would not be confused, ignored, or misunderstood, CoH was NOT even remotely based on Champions. All CoH heroes are actually wizards. What they call Endurance is actually Mana. Also, Gurps already has a Supers Supplement out. At least Gurps 3rd edition (might be second) does.

What Bossk is failing (intentionally or not) to admit is that properly herded mobs will not scatter. Agent Knockback doesn't slow down the team. And, he deals with the rare KB accident. Let me ask you this, Bossk. Do any of your character have the Nemesis Staff?
-
Who said you needed a Brute or a Tank, or even a Melee character to herd? On live, My Illusion/Force Field Controller herded quite well. Even Tanked and Scrapped very well. You need to think outside the box more. And the guy who plays the Tank in our group (when he plays a tank in our group) doesn't hang around until the current set of mobs is totally defeated. He's up ahead herding another two groups to a convenient location while the rest of the team is taking care of the rest of the current set of mobs. And sometimes, the scrapper is herding a third group over to the Tank. We're a team full of of people that are not all that patient. However, We do, work around the power-set's secondary effects that others on the team want to play with. Bossk_Hogg: Since I play solely on Reunion, I am relatively certain that we'll never see each other in game. That's fine with me.

The people I team with actually know how to deal with people that have KB. Unlike (from reading complaints about KB) about 75% of the people that post on the forums. KB lesson #1: We let the guy that herds the mobs together (for those sweet AoEs) herd the mobs near an obstacle (not the middle of a room). That way, any KB that is done is instantly mitigated. Takes exactly as long as herding the mobs to maximize effect of AoEs. Imagine that! Tactics is more than just a toggle power.

Well, see, I have about 7 friends that I regularly play with. Well, actually 4 or 5 usually show up for Agent Night. with a couple more that pop in occasionally. That makes for a possible team of 8. Coincidentally, that's the max team limit. So, we can all actually play on the same team and have fun together. rather than a couple of us being forced to not team with the rest of us and probably end up not paying any more. I like the team limit where it is. And for difficulty on my 50 brute, I set my notoriety up to about x6 or so. Currently, its at x8 dealing with mobs whose damage type is easily resisted. For those days when it's just 4 of us Agents, we tend to have the notoriety setting at x6 or x8 because 2 MMs take care of practically anything. As for XP bonus for low-man mission completions? you're already getting an XP bonus by not splitting the XP from mobs with anyone else. crank up your notoriety team size and gain even more XP. Oh, and make every mission a defeat all.
-
That's not going to happen with Agent Knockback (FF/Energy Defender). Too many KB powers to mess with making them ALL KD. Besides, I make good use of AE KB, when the taunter positions the mobs correctly. Otherwise, the mess left behind is on him.
-
I understand that. I was just commenting on why, or my lack of knowledge on why, the Macro wouldn't activate the other power while the first one was on cool down. I don't really have much experience with multiple clickies that are both available at the same time. I have had a bind that swapped between fly and hover that wasn't the speed on demand set up. But, those are both toggles and mutually exclusive. most of my knowledge about keybinds comes from Paragonwiki.
-
I have a key bind for my PB that fires off a heal when in human form, but will fire off a different heal when in Dwarf form. Same key does both clicky powers. It might be a bind vs Macro thing. I'm not sure. I don't use macros very often, and then it's the default MM macros.

Collective noun for mob groups aka Murder of crows
Twisted Toon replied to KaizenSoze's topic in General Discussion
🤔 So...a Mob? 😁 -
I believe, while burn in on cool-down, Then healing flames would fire, if you pressed the button again. I don't think there is really a way to get 2 powers to be fired off at the same time from one press of the button. Well, there is a work-around that would technically allow that, if you made one of the powers auto-fire. But, then you woud be dealing with that one power firing off when ever it came off of cool-down. That is all working by design, if I'm not mistaken.

Personal Issue with AE and the slower slog of normal content.
Twisted Toon replied to eldriyth's topic in General Discussion
Actually, it wasn't simply because they could hit level 50 faster. It was because once they hit level 50, they had absolutely no idea how to play that level 50 and wanted to join in the level 50 Hami games. But, because they didn't know how to play that level 50, ruined the fun for many of those that did not PL their way to 50 and actually knew how to play. This was, of course, before Incarnates. When level 50 content wasn't as easy to trivialize. So, yes, PLing to 50 can have detrimental effects for other players. It's not as likely now as it once was. I don't really have an opinion on whether AE should be changed or not. I will say that, on the off chance, if the Devs decide to do something about the balance between normal content and AE farming, It would probably be vastly more feasible to nerf AE than to buff everything else in the game. -
I'm fairly sure that ITF wasn't designed with tier 4 Incarnates, with multiple level shifts, in mind. So, I would say that it's a combination of all three reasons (Power creep, game design, and player knowledge) in why it is so easy for a team of 8. most of the time I've seen people post complaining that the game is too easy, not that I think you are complaining, is because they are fully incarnated out doing non-incarnate content. My suggestion to them is usually to turn off their incarnate stuff. Especially the Alpha slot that gives them the level shift for all content. They tend to get offended at that suggestion for some reason.
