  1. You might have seen Dream Doctor, in which case the weapon was likely his signature staff, unavailable to players.
  2. Shatter Armor in the Mace Mastery pool, available only to VEATs, could use an animation change. It's exactly the same as Shatter, a key move for Bane Spiders. If you take it on a Bane Spider, you'll have two moves with identical animations, which seems a bit silly given Bane Spiders only get equivalents to 4 of the 7 attacks from War Mace; there's no need to be repeating animations. What would be ideal is if it had the animation from Clobber. Statistically, Shatter Armor and Clobber are extremely similar. Clobber does a little more damage and costs a little less endurance, and recharges in just over half the time as Shatter Armor, all of which is pretty par for the course when comparing a power in an ancillary pool to the same power in a primary or secondary set. It's almost like Shatter Armor was made as an APP version of Clobber to begin with. In other words, I don't think changing Shatter Armor to use Clobber's faster animation would be unbalancing.
  3. Is this really relevant anymore in an age where IO set bonuses make these things obsolete? Acrobatics isn't just knockback protection, it's Hold protection as well.
  4. Professor (University) + Caregiver/Pain Specialist (Hospital) for the ally rez power.
  5. you move up the vertical axis without limit that's literally what flying is we might have some semantic disjunction. maybe easier? "Jump pack is neither jumping nor flying but a different mode of movement than either, just like Beast Run is not running." That's not what flying is. Flying gives you unrestricted movement in 3 dimensions while ignoring gravity. With the Jump Pack you're either going up or falling down.
  6. Squishies could take Acrobatics for no investment.
  7. While I'm not surprised to hear that the Jump Pack doesn't work exactly as I imagined, this makes no sense. There is nothing flight-like about what the Jump Pack does to the player while active. You move exactly the same as without, with the change that you can jump infinitely and initiate new jumps in the air.
  8. These aren’t “devs are asleep, we can do what we want” servers. If you want to go crazy, spin up your own server. If you want to try a new character at 50, you can play on Justin.
  9. So I ended up not taking Shiver. I found that I could get much the same benefit from Snow Storm. But what really put the nail in Shiver’s coffin was that I realized I had the slots to put 2 Blistering Colds in Brawl and Ice Sword (which I took instead of Shiver). The two-slot bonus for Blistering Cold is Slow resist. That, Winter’s Gift, and all the other Winter Event IOs in powers I actually use gives my Blaster 100% resistance to slows, which is both thematic and useful.
  10. Ice Blast, because now it has 5 single-target Blast powers instead of 3.
  11. I am surprised it was never done in the original game, especially with how money hungry they were at the end, could have made a fortune if they offered it! I'm not surprised it wasn't done, because it's a bad idea. It isn't a BAD idea... It is a bad idea, at least the once per character aspect. Changing primary/secondary sets would open up its own can of worms, but the people who make the threads suggesting it almost always include the proviso that it can only be done once, as if that improves the suggestion, when it actually makes it much, much worse. People would use their one change, switch to something they also end up not liking, and end up in exactly the same situation.
  12. If Homecoming had the ability to create new FX, Rad Armor wouldn’t be using entirely recycled FX to begin with.

  14. Ah, here it is. The old "super respec but only once per character" suggestion. I was wondering when we'd start seeing these threads again.

    Best ST melee

Probably still Ice. It can't benefit from the snipe changes, but the buffs to its holds that it got as compensation were very kind to it.
  16. We know from those powers (which grant flight) that we can make the Fly status switch on or off immediately when players press or release the ascend key. We also know from that that the Paragon devs were clever and tricksy. They don't grant flight, it's clear from using them they let you jump in midair.
  17. They already do when they can. Escort NPCs that fight alongside you already have +perception powers. However, the invulnerable ones that don't take part in combat aren't combat-enabled NPCs at all and can't use powers, so they can't be given +perception.
  18. That would spam the hell out of the Error channel, though.
  19. Arachnos Soldier Bane Spider build is probably what you want.
  20. I've even thought of a way it could be implemented without having to change the code for player movement. We know from Grounded in Electric Armor that powers can grant effects based on whether or not the player is standing on the ground. We know from the Steam Jump and Jump Pack prestige powers that powers can grant the ability to jump in midair. It sounds paradoxical, but if we put a "can jump in midair as long as touching the ground" effect into Hurdle, that should give a result quite similar to coyote time. The effect can probably be coded to have a duration that lasts a few fractions of a second after the player actually leaves the ground. The only other thing that would need to be done is reduce the max jump height buff granted by Hurdle; since the effect would increase how high the play can jump if they're on solid ground.
  21. Just being booted from the SG should revoke their permission to use any shared resources in the base. They'd still be able to use crafting tables and teleporters and whatnot, but that can't cause harm to the base or SG.
  22. That wouldn't do at all what coyote time would let us do.
  23. What is coyote time you ask? Coyote time is a short period after a player character has left the ground from running off the ledge, where it is still possible to jump as though the player were standing on solid ground. A reference to the antics of one Wile. E. Coyote. It's common among many platforming games. I'm sure all us Super Speeders have experienced that frustration where we try to jump, but we're just moving too fast and the ground dropped out beneath us as it sloped down, causing us to run headlong into the obstacle we were trying to jump over. Coyote time would solve that problem!
  24. More badge opprtunities while you grind WSTs: Every time you click a glowie in the mission, you get a medium inspiration, and every time you clear the trial you get a rare recipe. If you set those drops to be rejected at the P2W Vendor, you can also make progress on those rejection badges.
  25. You seem to have extrapolated a whole lot about how the Homecoming devs operate from the... one? balance patch they've put out since bringing the game back.
