  1. The original development team put an extensive sewer network in place, connecting it to many of the city zones, intended as something of a challenge path between zones, but I rarely, if ever hear of sweeper teams moving through the area, like we used to have in the early years. Similar to the discussion we're having regarding the Hazard Zones, what might your ideas be for invigorating interest in traveling the sewer network? As before, I'm hoping for brainstorming ideas, which means we're looking for reasonable creativity, rather than 100% feasibility right now.
  2. That's the one! Thanks! Guess the fault was mine. I was sure it had been labeled "boom".
  3. I was chuckling again this morning over the old CoH "bomp bomp" video posted 14 years ago by oODarkAphroditeOo and decided to go looking for the CoH "Boom" video of a similar age. That's Boom by POD. I found one uploaded by Christopher Taylor 7 years ago, but that one focuses on two characters of similar appearance, and the one I am thinking of showed several characters, and highlighted their colorful and hard-hitting powers. Does anyone else remember that video and know where to find it? A couple of search engines failed to dig it up, but they were heavily geared to YouTube. It might be tied to another video service.
  4. Point to you. 🤣 And I did say I didn't want amber, so that takes care of gold side.lol
  5. Anyone use blue blocker glasses while playing CoH? I have good eyesight, and want to keep it that way, but work and play keeps me in front of the screens constantly. Any suggestions on a good pair to acquire, or a bad brand to avoid? I'd prefer something a tad stylish, and I don't think HRG look good on me (horn-rimmed glasses). Unfortunately they seem to be the dominant model. I am also preferring a clear lense to an amber one.
  6. Personal preference: not capping the level. Why? We have a ton of that already, and so few opportunities, as a result, to unleash our hard-won Incarnate-level strength. I do like going back and doing the old story lines, and I get why they are level capped. But if I could unleash my full level 50 strength on a street group of 20 Skulls at equal strength to me, with bosses at level 53, then whip out the Incarnate set...that's fun. That said, capping the level is good brainstorming, and I'll not fuss about it if it happens. It definitely would make a difference in Perez Park, for example. Hmm....maybe raising their range of vision some, too? That way nearby mobs might run in to assist, adding to the potential to be suddenly overwhelmed.
  7. So, death by a thousand cuts?
  8. Yeah, what I post is an amalgam of my ideas and that of others, and any theory I post may be 100% wrong, yet, frankly, I won't care. It's hard to see clearly, and that's fun. The writers have done an amazing job turning this show into a glorious onion, with layers and layers of possibilities.
  9. The "It's a small world after all" syndrome, as I like to call it. Yeah, Hollywood is bad about that. You make a very good point. Mando may be in the fringes of the galaxy, but that's still huge. And in Star Wars, you have entire planets that are one big city, dozens of stories high. That's a lot of people.
  10. Returned to the game after a 2 month hiatus playing No Man's Sky. Kept having trouble with the controls in caves because muscle memory was still tuned to the my control setup in the other game. I'm sure I left a lot of facial skin on some cave walls.
  11. Customized? Uh...oh, not much. 😏 *Stuffs fuzzy dice in pocket and turns off the underbody LED lighting*
  12. Constantinople? I thought he was Istanbul, not Constantinople now... 😏
  13. Do you continue to street sweep after all NPCs turn gray? I actually do that in Perez to get the Skulls badges, but I find it terribly boring without a threat. I keep looking at Crey's Folly and the Freaks town there, and keep thinking it needs the "Hogger" treatment (referencing a popular WoW opponent). That is, a high-level, high-value street target with better drops that you have to fight your way through hordes to get to. Freaks work because they have flyers and endurance drainers, effectively neutralizing using an airborne "I win" button.
  14. Hear, hear! And it is not sappy. A heart of gratitude is a virtue. Actually, I would love to contribute to the server upkeep, but the donation window is open for so short of time, and often when I am not on, that I never have the chance. My thanks to those who are lucky enough to contribute in that short window.
  15. The season 1 trailer looked interesting. You say it is on Prime? Not CBS All Access? EDIT: so I confirmed Prime does have it. First 3 eps are free. Be aware though that Prime reviewers are reporting that purchased eps appear to sometimes not work on the Prime viewer.
  16. Which is why I'm saying this is brainstorming. Feasibility (whether an idea would work with mission doors around) would come later. Sometimes getting a brainstorming idea out there, will be the start of an idea that does work in a feasible way, but would never be considered if it wasn't out there first.
  17. Power creep, players with improved skills, faster outleveling of opponents...stuff happens, and over time I've noticed that many of the hazard zones are more that in name than in function. Seemingly, players enter the zones only to deal with Giant Monsters and Arch opponents, or to fulfill some condition of a task force, or to fulfill some condition for a badge. What ideas might you have for revitalizing these zones? All reasonable ideas entertained, even if ultimately not feasible. This isn't really a suggestions list, or I'd put this in that category. This is pure brainstorming. If somewhere down the road any discussion inspires the devs, that's fine, but not asking for formal suggestions. One idea that crossed my mind was to change the level ranking of the hazard zone characters. No longer would they be something like levels 7 to 12. Instead, take a page from the Ritki invasion events and make the hazard zone residence always within range of the player. So the lowest NPC would be green, while purples might exist as well. This might make the hazard zones interesting to upper level players, and might create some interest for those entering the zone to accomplish other goals. Taking on the Kraken in Perez Park, for example, would now mean to watch your back lest you get too close to a mob of Skulls or Vahz. This might generate a bit more interest in the "go there, kill x of that" missions in the Numina task force, though it would likely be uneven with similar "go there, kill x of that" missions in none hazard zones where NPCs remain grayed out. Your ideas?
  18. This one practically screams for a black and white cover
  19. And does your travel power involve clacking two coconut halves together?
  20. Mixed heights. It depends on the character's backstory. Control Tower is maxed on the slider, but then it's in his name, Tower. Most of my characters run between 5 foot 10 inches and 6 foot. I've got a Central American character with a bit of a cool Don Johnson Miami Vice look going on. I deliberately made him slightly shorter, trying to match the strikingly uniform height of the Central American neighbors around me. And then there's the Flea Circus. I've several characters reborn from the Flea Circus Super Group I was a part-time member of back in the original game. I deliberately set them at the low end of the slider, as did everyone involved in the FCSG. Seeing circus characters running around in miniature seems to make folks smile a lot.
  21. Perhaps that's what's needed: an evolution and clarification in their story line where they no longer see the peak of human ability as an end-all, but instead train to the limits of human ability, and are rewarded by their gang with equipment at "legendary" status to push them farther up the food chain. So then the equipment reward ceremony and training is their equivalent of incarnate status. And hey, tiny shards of the well found where the well should have been? Those are "augments". Natural origin heroes and villains seek them out. Why can't the upper levels of the Warriors have stories of seeking those as well?
  22. I've not seen Luminara's video, but in lore context, wouldn't the Warriors frown on guns as beneath their physical perfection creed? They use bows, but it does take some physical training to draw some of the more powerful bows. A female Warrior AV though, would be a welcomed addition.
  23. Mound Builder (Earth Dominator) -- If you really want to get deeper into his back story, I spent way to long on creating it a while back, along with his Paragon Universe city of Future City, IL over here:
  24. Retooled the look of Control Tower (Illusion/Storm controller). I've removed his normal storm aura for clarity in this shot. He was originally created back in 2005 to be a member of the Flying Circus Super Group, and other than his 8-foot height, he looked pretty much the same as my Ace Barnstormer (picture earlier in this thread), also from the FCSG. I needed Control Tower to have more of his own identity, while still maintaining a similar uniform.
  25. In the very early days, I used to see them as a challenge because I'd not fully adjusted to game play back then, and several of them hit stunningly hard. I had to learn to not play a planted-foot fighting style. They do seem more sedate now. I think it's because by lore, they focus on being the pinnacle of natural human perfection, rather than pushing beyond that using other means, like the Hellions do. Perhaps if they were given a bit more of a tweak to that human perfection concept: like some have trained to a faster attack, and others dodge/weave better, or have mixed martial arts skills. It might not break the lore if they were given a natural means to temporarily boost their powers, like say drinking the juice of an exotic, rare berry or herb.
