  1. Circle of Thorns quite public and permanent? Wow.
  2. Why am I not surprised there is a can involved?
  3. Man, you came up with a better name. Hat's off to you, and I'm a tad jealous. "Egg Noggin" would have been perfect for my Egghead homage Eggsterminator.
  4. 2020? But this is 2012. The Paragon City universe must have a nightmare of political commercials with a 7-8 year campaign season.
  5. Rarely, and almost always in connection with someone else's lead and choices.
  6. Well, hang on to your hat then, 'cause it's said that Justin Hammer will be one of the big antagonists against Rhodey in the MCU's Armor Wars. That's assuming of course that it doesn't get the Disney axe. Last I heard it was coming out after Iron Heart and probably won't show for another 3 years. (They really need to consider that their actors' age. Pushing projects years into the future for current actors is troublesome, unless they anticipate replacing all actors at some point.) I appreciate that you use "World Tree" and not "Yggdrasil" in your comment. I'm probably the only one on the planet who stubbornly points out that Yggdrasil was the connective tissue for the 9 Realms, NOT the multi-verse. But people rushed to name Loki's creation as "Yggdrasil" completely forgetting that in the MCU canonically, Yggdrasil already existed in the form I described, and was talked about by Thor. I've not seen it, but I suspect the MCU creators even have called Loki's creation "Yggdrasil". I find the term "World Tree" a bit better, though "Worlds' Tree" or "Multiverse Tree" would probably be better still. Thank you for you time. (*Gets off soapbox.*)
  7. It actually makes sense, if under-acknowledging Tolkien in the process. Peter Jackson, Wita, and New Line Cinema made several...adjustments...to the Tolkien stories. These have created a close, but definitely not identical, story to Tolkien's. Some of these...adjustments... were done due to film limitations of time, such as the complete removal of The Old Forest, The Barrow Downs, and all of the Tom Bombadil/Goldberry storyline. They changed the tree attack of Old Man Willow to an unnamed, angry tree in another forest. Some of the other...adjustments...notably the ones in The Hobbit trilogy, were done to heavily pad out the story, creating two wholly new main characters, new scenes, and dramatically adjusting existing scenes resulting in the length of a third movie to what should have been two. So many changes exist in fact that Christopher Tolkien angrily dismissed the LotR movies as not his father's work. So referring to the product as "Jackson's universe" makes sense. It's akin to the Joss Whedon and Zack Snyder versions of Justice League.
  8. I'm down for it, as long as it doesn't receive the Amazon abuse treatment. I've gotten a bit rusty on my lore, so I turned to Nerd of the Rings for a refresher on Helm Hammerhand (spoilers in the video). Helm Hammerhand is obviously the man who gave name to "Helm's Deep". As to the rest what I find interesting is...
  9. You got an empty tram car?? That's so rare, I'd have taken a picture, too!
  10. Hmm...WW2 characters...WW2 characters...why do I feel like I know of one...
  11. When I want a bit of a tan, I crank it back to Factor 40, but only for 20 minutes. -- Another genetic Scot.
  12. With the name I'm guessing sneakers are mandatory.
  13. Pork Rinds? Y'all have glorious pork rinds/pork skins/chicharrones? I guess civilization has reached your shores!
  14. Went back to the long-standing beta for Firefall until the new, weird parent company, The9, ruined everything. Then did a circuit of MMO games (not necessarily in this order): Champions Online (bored quickly) Star Wars: The Old Republic Lord of the Rings Online Star Trek Online WoW DC Universe Online WildSTAR By about 2016, I was getting fed up with what I perceived to be mediocrity in the MMO genre at the time, (more like I just didn't emotionally connect to any like I did CoH, Firefall, and the other failed one, Tabula Rasa from 2007-2009), so I started looking into other game types until a friend in 2019 let me know CoH had been revived.
  15. Cannot see this without remembering that faux-commercial for Nolan's Cheddar. Just hilariously the best practical effects "commercial" I've seen.
  16. Curious to know if you consider the movie for the TV series to be a worthy part of it or not. I must say, I did not forsee the ending.
  17. Need a proper reboot of Airwolf before Street Hawk. If they're going to redo Forever Knight to undo that ending, then they need to also get The Highlander going (and The Pretender, as I think of it) and change/properly wrap their stories.
  18. LFG, broadcast, and help channels for their designated purposes. Very rarely if I see something that tickles my funny bone, I'll get quippy and snarky. (Wait, is "snarky" copyrighted?) I hack out and bury Global on every character. I've seen too much crud in it in days gone by to ever really enjoy it. On the very rare occasion my one remaining SG mate comes to play I'll use SG chat. There used to be a channel for those from my home state, which I was happy to chat in, but the concept fell apart.
  19. Homemade cocoa pudding. We use 1/2 sugar and 1/2 allulose to sweeten it. Literally cannot taste the difference from the full-sugar version, and it's richer than your standard box-kit chocolate pudding. Of course, eating it is a challenge while gaming. Got to take a bite between fights.
  20. While most of us here probably don't consider Avatar: The Last Airbender old, as of February it will be 19 years since it premiered. By comparison, the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon, famous for it's theme song, was 19 years old my sophomore college year. At the end of that school year, we had the very popular animated G.I. Joe: The Movie come out, meaning Avatar premiered 18 years after it (just a year shy of 19), aaaand...now I feel incredibly old.
  21. Now I'm wanting a mash-up of Zemo dancing to the Agatha All Along song.
  22. Was unaware that Tom Servo was still alive.
  23. Hot-swappable batteries is one of the things I absolutely love about the ruggedized Panasonic CF series of laptops. I wish everyone went that route. I've not discussed it yet, but I share your opinion about HP, and @Greycat's opinion about Dell. Sadly, from what I see, these are the two prominent computers in the American workplace, though I'm happy to see the occasional Lenovo workshop. Those friends that ask for buying advice, I don't say "don't buy" on these two, I just ask them to consider the two after considering other brands, then I follow up by telling all the war stories I've gone through with the brands. They usually make a good informed choice after that. I was previously unaware of Blackview. It's now on my radar. Thank you! Good advice on the safety stuff.
