  1. My Ice Tank would certainly appreciate a Sonic, since Ice Tanks have a huge hole in resistance even after IO's.
  2. I agree completely. IO's are like that drug addiction you have to have, and even though you love them, you know you shouldn't and even maybe wish they were never created. If Homecoming made a server pre IO's, with everything else in game remaining the same, I have to honestly say I would drop Excelsior and move to that server. I would be like a kid in a candy store. 😄
  3. I was seeing slight server lag in Atlas Park, you know, powers recharged but server says they are still recharging? But then they created Atlas Park 2 and have seen no lag since.
  4. Yup, because face rolling everything in this game is hella fun. Nowhere near as fun as a good challenging game that kept your heart racing. IO's and Incarnates was the worst thing the Devs could have ever done to this game. I said it when they introduced the idea and I'm saying it now all these years later. The game is unchallenging, and makes all sorts of AT's useless and pretty much bench warmers. I still love the game, but nowhere near as much as I did before IOs were created. IO's are this game's bane.
  5. It is within my right to not risk it. Besides, I have used way more examples than just that one you are quoting. Sorry, man...but you won't be changing my mind.
  6. And it is of my opinion that if they have never set foot in Striga or worse, Independence Port, then they have no business power leveling. And since I don't make it a habit to tell others how to play, I chose instead to simply either ignore such player or add a 1 star above their heads so I can avoid them.
  7. No sir, you and jubakumbi have put a lot of words in my mouth over the course of the past few months and have blown what I said way out of proportion. I simply got tired of trying to explain it and let you believe whatever you wanted to believe. I don't go around bossing around anyone. If I don't like how their play style mixes with mine, I simply put a 1 star above their heads and avoid them in the future. I might make a suggestion and explain why, but it's up to them if they want to listen, if not...no biggie, that will be the last time our two conflicting playstyles play together. Also, I don't go against the grain of how a team is playing. If the whole team is knocking back, then I don't say a damn word...I would be the one griefing if I demanded they play my way. I simply quietly bow out after that mission ends and move on. However, I have clearly stated that if a player joins MY team, and they are going against the grain of how MY team is playing, and after being asked nicely to not knock mobs and scatter them, they refuse...I remove them from the team. Huge difference from what jubakumbi does. Sorry, how I play is griefing nobody at all.
  8. No sir, not the reason at all. In fact, how much cash somebody else has is insignificant to me since I have a stock pile of my own cash. I also farm, I just will not PL players who I have caught begging for PLs on LFG...and honestly, it's pretty rare when I offer to PL players outside of my own SG, with members I have known for years in some cases. Actually, my personal experience has driven me to believe this is not a false assumption. My personal experience tells me that this is indeed a negative impact of power leveling. Obviously not all players who get power leveled are players who do not know how to play, but when I see a power leveled 50 with almost no badges, ask me how to get to Striga Island or Independence Port...that is a bad sign. When I see them play in a way that just screams, "I have no clue what I am doing or have any idea what my powers actually do" such as, Heals breaking sleeps, or being unaware that their Howling Twilight grants a huge -regen (-500%) debuff and is useful in more ways than just reviving fallen heroes, or that they are asking me if I have any monies because they power leveled to 50 and have none... that poses a huge problem. When I see this power leveled 50 jumping around all over a map, or has no clue to use their map and are asking where we are in the building we are in, that poses a problem. In my opinion, these are not false assumptions. This I agree with completely and wouldn't even argue against this. However, with this form of power leveling, players are still playing their characters and learning the ropes as they go.
  9. @jubakumbi You seem to forget that this is an MMO. You playing the way you want to play (IE; knocking back and scattering mobs which makes your team mate's AoE's useless, running off by yourself and leaving team mates high and dry in order to go do your own thing, interfering with zone events like Rikti War Zone and even taking it as far as getting a player banned who complained to you about interfering with the event, just to name a few of the things you say you have done and championed.) may and do have a negative impact on other people's game play. That should be clear to you when the things that you have done have garnered much grief from players which whom you have grieved. You have championed this behavior several times and anytime somebody has brought this to your attention, you simply reply with, "Then they should adapt." This is an MMO, where we *all* must adapt to each other to get along and have fun together. Sadly, in your way of thinking, you should not have to adapt to anyone, rather everyone must adapt to you, while you sit and claim the opposite. It's the same thing here with this thread. Clearly people advertising for paid powerlevels are negatively affecting players, or this thread would not be here. If begging for power levels and charging players for power levels had zero negative impact on players, this thread would not exist. Remember, this is an MMO, where your actions do not only affect you, they affect the community whether they have positive or negative consequences. This is true with any community based RPG, hence the title of MMO. However, even knowing this, the OP still did not tell people how to play, he simply wanted opinions on how the playerbase feels about said practices and how it may have affected them. So I think we can put the pom-poms down and save the good fight for another day...there will be many more opportunities to champion your point of view when you see players trying to control another player and how they play.
  10. Yeah, that wouldn't be worth it if that's the case.
  11. I global ignore anyone and everyone who asks for PLs in LFG chat. I will also be ignoring anyone who charges people for power levels. I'm not a fan of PLing people for reasons, however, if you are going to offer to PL somebody, do it for free. It takes a certain kind of personality to beg on LFG chat and it takes a special kind of personality to charge players for it. Neither of which I wish to team with.
  12. Please tell me we have the capabilities within the dev team to make this bad boy work with this game?
  13. Excelsior server. I'm also speaking more on Posi through Numina. Not so much speaking about the level 50 TF's.
  14. This has been a bug since live. It drives me nuts and over the years has come to be a thorn in my backside. Far too often, no matter which character I play, my characters will not go in to battle stance after activating an attack. They just stand there as if they have not attacked at all. It's very strange looking and makes it appear as though you are not even helping your teams. Can we please please please look in to this and find the cause and fix this? 😞
  15. I think that has more to do with this new wave of people who only want to run content at +0. I always run mine at +1, I would run +2, but the PLed 50's on the team will cry about it if I do, since they only came for the badge. I actually miss the days when you could not change the difficulty of the TF. You ran it as is, like it or not. It was a challenge that I appreciated. Now everyone runs content on the lowest possible setting and then complains that it's too east. 0.o
  16. I could see their melee damage abilities being turned in to control abilities. I think that would retain the identity, while filling in the lack of control for Doms. At very least, it's an idea to throw around at the round table.
  17. The thing is, Illusions has never been a powerset comparable to other Controllers. It's soft control with emphasis on damage and aggro management through pets. So in the hands of a Dom, it's the same thing. Not as much control when compared to other Doms, but more DPS and aggro management. In the hands of a Dom, it makes for a great solo character as well. We seem to have a lot of players who prefer solo play and it's right up their alley. Illusions (imo of course) has always been a class of its own. So yes, if we are trying to make Illusions closer to the state that Doms are in, it won't work...it was never designed to work like other control sets. But if we put away the notion that Illusions is supposed to be some powerset that has a primary function of control, the set starts to make more sense, be it behind the wielder of Controllers, or behind the wielder of Doms. This is just my opinion based off more experience than what most other players have...I have actually played the set as an Illusions Dom. It's not the powerhouse people may think that it is, but it is hella fun and it plays just as I expected it would. In fact, the particular set that I played, Illusions/Energy Manipulation, was actually more endurance heavy than I expected it to be. That was the only thing that stood out to me playing the set. I did not once feel as though I was OP and the set felt right behind the wheel of a Dominator. If the Devs here try it out, and feel differently than I do, they always have the option to tweak the set to their liking. However, I feel if they are going to tweak it for Doms, then it needs to be tweaked for Controllers as well. Just my two cents and a perspective from somebody who has played one. Take it with a grain of salt.
  18. I am speaking more of the balance of the AT, not the server. Which is why I did not mention the server, because it's not a competition to see which server balances better than another. A lot of that is just ego IMO. I just personally feel the reasons given for Illusions not being granted to Doms is purely B.S. Now that is referring to the live devs, not these devs. As I have no idea what the devs on this version of the game has said, if they even said anything at all.
  19. I have tested Illusions/Energy Manipulation on another server. It worked great and was the most fun Powerset/AT I have ever played. It benefited perfectly with Domination. All the reasons given for why Illusions was not given to Doms is pure B.S. IMO. It was everything I imagined it to be and more. I'll leave it at that.
  20. Don't even get me started on Knock Back...
  21. I'll contact you when I get in game tonight. Currently at work, but will be back home around 8:00 eastern time. Is your global the same as your forum name?
  22. My condolences. Another hero lost in the nonstop battle we call life. Rest in Peace, Hero.
  23. I don't think anyone is talking about herding. When I play my Tank (and what I also see a lot of other Tanks attempting) I make an effort to run to the mob, and taunt another mob that is nearby, or run to the other nearby mob and then run to the primary mob. If the Controllers and Blasters and all the wannabe DPSers just give it 5 to 8 seconds, both mobs will be stacked on top of me and the team can unleash holy hell upon them. But instead, what we have is Controllers locking down mobs before the Tank can even stack the 1 or 2 mobs. I'm not talking about herding, on this server herding is a complete waste of time since we have an aggro limit. To the best of my knowledge, the only server that would benefit from herding would be the We Have Cake server, because that is the only server that I am aware of who has done away with the aggro limit. No. What I am speaking of is a team using just a little bit of uniformed play for faster and more efficient kills. If players can't be a tad bit patient and let the Tank do his/her job, then what ends up happening is the Tank losing aggro because the mobs are scattered all over the place and the Tank is left standing there trying to figure out how to best be beneficial to the team. So what the Tank ends up doing is pretending like he is a Brute, running to the chain of command within the mob and fighting like a Scrapper instead of a Tank. People say Tanks are useless. I disagree, it is the players who make them useless by their chaotic playstyles.
  24. I'm sorry, @VileTerror was there something you wanted to ask me about?
  25. I think once I get 7 other players on board, we can discuss details. That will depend on the tolerance of the players involved, or the player's ideas of just how original they want to go. I do not expect anyone to change any characters they currently have, so unless everyone agreed to create brand new characters and start from level 1, it would be a bit difficult to restrict certain pool powers or patron powers. However, if everyone were willing to start fresh, and if they agreed to only use powers (all of them) from the pre i5 era, that could most certainly happen. So to answer your question, I do not plan to get that accurate with it, however, if the other players involved would like to take it to that level, I will be all for it. As far as costume pieces, I for one am not concerned with costume parts. However, depending on the level of nostalgia from the players, if they all agree to keep everything 100% accurate, I would also be game for this as well.
