I don't. But you, in turn, cannot expect people to not speak up when they hear/see you say something they object to. That's how debates and discussions work. ... no I didn't. Ding ding ding ding! Right again! However, to be fair, there seems to be an influx of bad players who love Knock Back. We need somebody like you to write up a tutorial on it, help educate them. When you try and educate them in game, regardless of how nice you attempt to be, it is always taken as, "Don't tell me how to play the game!" You would be a valued member of any team my Tank is driving the car of. We need more players with your knowledge of how to use KB properly in a team setting. Pretty much everything we have for Stalkers now, was something he pushed for....and EVERYONE....and I do mean every one of the forum posters gave him a hard way to go about it and fought him tooth and nail. He eventually stopped posting because he felt like he was dealing with incompetence.

I am not against soloing in this game. I believe people should be able to play in any way they see fit, as long as it does not negatively impact another player's ability to play in the way he/she likes...in which case compromises can be made by two mature players in order to meet half way. I have no issues with how other players play, I honestly wanted the OP to go in to this with a bit of knowledge. So I love teaming? Hell yes I do. Am I partial to it>? Sure, if I had to answer honestly I would say yes I am. However, I do not, nor would I ever knock somebody who prefers solo play. Hey, it's their game, their lives, their time spent playing, not mine, right? There is nothing wrong with it at all. Everyone enjoys the game for a different reason. I know this. Because you were quite plainly coming down on the idea of people who want to solo (instead of teaming up), making it out to be a bad way to play CoX. "Not agreeing with you" != "getting riled up". I never said a thing was wrong with it... please try to remain calm, lol. Explicitly, no. Implicitly ... several times. Your post positively reeked of condescension towards slow-road soloists. Clearly you are highly overly sensitive and read what you want to read in to people's posts as if you are some kind of victim of persecution. Funny, not once have I ever seen anyone get persecuted because they like to play solo and level slowly. Not one single time from the time I was 28 years old (when this game came out) to now, at my nice ripe 44 years of age. You victim status here was overboard...and the fact you have to make something out of my post to fit your agenda proves it to me. Sorry, pal...can't be bothered with you. ::ehem:: Allow me to correct that statement somewhat: A huge part of what makes this game so unique, is that it promotes teaming without requiring it. Thank you for the clarification. So bloody what? Not sure why you had to come at me like that, but whatever. People get way too excited on forums. You need to settle down a bit and just have a conversation instead of getting your feathers ruffled. The way some people get all hot headed on these forums is just silly. Relax, enjoy a conversation, sip some coffee, or if you rather, sip some brandy. It's just a conversation. Nobody said anything out of the way. Nothing for you to get your feathers ruffled over for sure. So to answer your "So bloody what?" question. It was information for a new player, my man. Just like "Some of us absolutely do not mind taking the slow road" you need to stop and think that not everybody wants to take forever to level either. Some people like to speed to the end, some people, like myself, like to find a nice middle ground. I do not power level, but I am a TF fanatic. So my leveling will not take as long as a solo player, but it will not be as quick as a power leveler either. Just because I made the OP aware that leveling solo is a very slow way to level, does not mean I am against people who do so. I never said a thing was wrong with it... please try to remain calm, lol.

To answer the OP's question, this was never truly meant to be a solo game. In the early days of City of Heroes, going at it solo was hard. No one AT with the exception of a Scrapper could Solo very easily. Tanks took forever to kill anything, Blasters were extremely squishy, Trollers took ages to kill anything and Defenders had the true crappy end of the stick. Only Scrappers had the ability to solo with relative ease. Since that time, the game has been made a bit easier to solo with many changes that were made since those days, however, in my opinion, it's still not really a solo game. Is it solo friendly? I guess you could say it is now, but your content will be limited. There will be much you cannot do as a solo player. You also miss out on the XP buff for playing on a large team. The bigger the team, the more XP. So players have every reason to team, and a couple of discouragements to solo. It can be soloed just fine if all you want is to reach the max level. However, it will be a very slow process and much of the content, such as Task Forces, Trials and what-nots will be something you won't be enjoying, which also means you will miss out on Badges and Accolades. A huge part of what makes this game so unique, is that it promotes teaming, which also promotes a strong community. If solo is something you seek, Champions Online and DC Universe are more along those standards. Even though you *can* solo this game, I strongly urge you to at least give teaming a try...I think you just might find that it is a highly enjoyable and enlightening experience.

Better yet, will the great JRanger ever return to officially /JRanger this thread? I hope not. JRanger was pretty much just a troll, and I think a lot of people forget that. No, trust me, I for one did not forget. I don't like the guy much, because of just that reason. However, I had no issues trolling him using his same /JRanger. He made a post once (I think only once, never seen him make many posts) and I was quick to use /JRanger as a reply. No, I sure did not forget...but it's still funny, even after all these years. And I sure don't hope he's dead. I think he was just a kid then, I would hope he would have matured past trolling by now.

DarkTyger - again, as I said in the other thread, I think you are letting your past experiences with the OP color your opinions here. The OP, based on feedback, as pivoted to build a Global Channel for his server for TF/Trials/Radio Missions/etc. So he is choosing to do the work on his end to make it easier for him to find groups and not try to change current DFB Behavior at all...So whatever his intent was, he's clearly not doing what you suggest he is doing now. On top of this, much to my delight, I discovered that my server already has a TF channel, has over 150 members and I am now a member of it. The DFB channel has been shut down with a message as to why, and a request for the people who have joined to leave the channel. I have given my reasons for doing what I did, however, I knew there would be some who would assume my intentions were something other than face value. Sorry, but I have never been one to pay people mind for that, it is human nature to assume the worst. I control me, not what others think of me, so I care not. You either believe me, or you do not believe me, affects me no differently either way. This is the risk you take when you come up with ideas or bring forth new options or opinions or anything at all that can change the game in any way at all. I understood the risks of such a move before making it. I think sometimes it is easier to accept that somebody has selfish intentions than it is to believe that somebody wants to make things better for everyone. However, you are right about one thing, this time my intentions were selfish. It would have made it easier and more efficient for me to form DFB groups and TF groups had the idea worked. It just so happens that everyone else on the server would have been able to do the same using the same tools. ;D

I’ve been on many teams with many tanks, and I have always asked if the KB was causing issues, and I have yet to hear a complaint. KB, when used correctly can be an ally to the tank...point the mob in his direction, and then he can aggro it, pick off the boss from the tank, that much less damage he has to take. And I have noticed on many teams that one or two or five mobs break away from the tank and go after me or someone else squishy, you know they love KB since the tank couldn’t hold everybody Ding ding ding ding! yeah, but does that help keep the minions alive? I don't think it does. Once the minions are gone, he's still a sitting duck until his oranges wear off.

To answer your question, simply because some of use and view chat boxes differently. What you find as organization, I see as separating in niche groups. Just that simple, we don't see it the same way, as having the same impact. I am obviously a minority on this one, it seems. Having a New Character Tab with /Help and /DFB, IMO, would end up with spamming LFG and DFB and result in lots of unneeded drama, based on previous MMO and human experience. WOuld not bother me one bit if it got implemented, I just honestly don't think it will work. Humans cannot be wrangled by code. Given options they can control, the will configure thier virtual realities to thier liking. IME. Not everything is a DFB plot...though this is likely a Nemesis plot! "And I would have gotten away with it too, had it not been for those nosey kids!"

Fear not...I'm not leaving. There is nothing out there that can pull me away from this game.

Yeah, I would be a bit upset if my tier one energy secondary suddenly became a knock down. The problem is not with Knock Back. The problem is with the players who either A: Dont know how to use it on teams who are trying to prevent mob scatter; or B: Are just trying to troll. Education is key here. Help them learn good ways to apply knock back. If they wont listen, kick them. They would be happier being on a knock back team...or maybe even solo.
