To be fair, players who wanted this game to be easy got their way. I think it's only fair that players who prefer a challenge get content that better suits them. It's not about exclusion, it's about inclusion. Whether or not you want to build in such a way that you can run that content, is entirely up to you. I think you are looking at it all wrong.

Bought damn time!

Tongue in cheek comment here, but let's face it, it's the only set that isn't overpowered, lol,

The new Aeon mission is nice though, I can take a controller and actually feel useful again. I think the answer is not to nerf, but to create tougher content that requires balanced teams fighting mobs that are equipped to handle IOs and Incarnates. making new content that cannot be done unless you are well built, fully armed with incarnates AND have a well built team is the way to go. Make end game make your IOed out, Incarnate power having keester feel the pain this game once made you feel before i5, and you've got a winner for end game content. Aeon isn't it, but it sure is a step in the right direction.

Was just talking about this in game the other day in how I really miss the original system of the penalty for being defeated. I think the old system created a play style that was a bit more careful in those days unless you had a fire tank on the team, then obviously caution went to the wind, but normal game play without a herding tank on the team, was a bit more cautious and less careless. Think about it, originally, after level 7, you started getting Debt (and a lot of it) for a defeat. You had to pay all of the debt before you could start earning XP again. Unless you had a Defender or Controller who had a Revive power, you were left to whatever inspirations you had in your tray. There were no silly combining inspirations to rez. If you didn't have one or if your team mates didn't have one, it was off to the hospital you went. There was a real risk to getting killed in those days and it made fighting much more intense for me. Now, if I see my health bar turn red, I don't even care, I just keep fighting till I fall. Lame. So in my opinion? Yeah, getting killed in game is a very minor inconvenience. It's not even of the level of an annoyance. This game has gotten so stupid easy, even a cave man could play it.

I am honestly just now trying out Regen again since it was nerfed back on live when Instant Healing was changed from a toggle to a to a click. When that happened, it really just killed the set for me and I would assume many others. The set simply just doesn't stack up compared to...well, pretty much every other set out there. I may not even finish this toon because I am only playing as a Regen out of nostalgia rather than actual survivability. IMO the set just isn't viable when you have others that are light years beyond it. Has there been any talk from the Devs on Discord about maybe giving Regen a new life? I know nothing has been said on these forums to the best of my knowledge, just hope to see the set be something worth playing again some time in the near future.

Solarverse's SFX Consolidated List of Mods
Solarverse replied to Solarverse's topic in Tools, Utilities & Downloads
@SableShrike Which one of these (or both?) are the culprit/culprits of the sound you don't like? There are actually two that are combined to make the singular sound that you hear in game. WarHold2_loop.ogg WarshadeShield_loop.ogg -
Savage Melee: enemies very often run away - bug or wonky mechanic?
Solarverse replied to Rastille's topic in Bug Reports
Right or wrong, but that stuff was funny right there! 😄 I guess the best way to know for sure, is to ask a Dev. -

Savage Melee: enemies very often run away - bug or wonky mechanic?
Solarverse replied to Rastille's topic in Bug Reports
Honestly, I know you probably don't want to hear this, but I always thought that was working as intended. If memory serves, this was a change made back on live when players were complaining about how stupid the AI is, so the devs decided to add running as a mechanic, which if you use a toggle debuff, they can and will run to other nearby mobs so they can elicit the help of those mobs. I didn't think it was a bug, I thought it was a mechanic design. -
Savage Melee: enemies very often run away - bug or wonky mechanic?
Solarverse replied to Rastille's topic in Bug Reports
Not a bug, this is simply NPC behavior. There are usually one or two NPCs per mob that are programmed to run at either first minion death or when a minion hits 75% health. You don't notice it as much on teams because on a team they die too quickly to run or are locked down by Doms/Trollers. But when solo, you are able to actually notice it. -
I think I already know the answer to this, but just want to be sure, do AE Tsoo or Crey or anything like that count towards badge counts for enemy kills?
-
It's been tested. Gives Hidden status on anything your level or below. Does not give hidden status anything above your level unless you are level shifted, in which case it works on anything +1 to your level or below.

We figured it out. If you are curious, read the thread and links provided. The mystery has been solved and it is indeed a bug. 🙂

Require Two Level 50 Characters to Get XP in AE

You must be reading something I wrote earlier in this thread, I pretty much came up with the same conclusion a few pages back. 🙂 -
Require Two Level 50 Characters to Get XP in AE
Solarverse replied to Apparition's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Yup, fair enough. I would like to respond to the quoted paragraph though. I meet players who openly admit they are new to the game all the time. But I chat a lot while teaming, so learning things about people is something I do often. -
yeah yeah, rub it in! 🤣

Keep in mind, as discovered in the video, Placate is now an AoE Placate. Not sure of the range, but that helps keep nearby targets off you.
-
@Bopper Something else worth noting, I am working on creating a story driven AE mission right now. During my testing, I was fighting an AV and notice Placate was not working on my Elec Stalker, the same Stalker from the video. Then I noticed it again against an EB and then against vs a Lieutenant. They were all level 54. I had not had an opportunity to check vs a minion of the same level yet. I will edit this post once I do. Edit: Works fine vs a level 50 AV. So it's about the levels above you that matters, just as you said, it's all about the Purple Patch and how it applies to Placate. Which I don't think is supposed to work that way.

Require Two Level 50 Characters to Get XP in AE
Solarverse replied to Apparition's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
As stated earlier, I don't even look at anyone's badges unless they give me reason to look. So if I am looking at your badges, it's because I have strong suspicion that not only are you new, but also PLed to 50. Does that always mean I am right? Probably not, but it doesn't mean that I am wrong either. -
Never mind, found it.

Which office map is the Frostfire Map? If it doesn't have the ice, that's fine. I just want the layout.
-
Just checked and oh wow...hidden status is not granted even with Hide activated. Very nice catch, @Bopper I am not even sure if I would have caught that, and what's sad is that I was on the right track when I noticed it in the video (although not to the same degree that you caught the detail) not granting Hidden status upon using Placate, I simply chopped it up to me not having Hide activated and some mechanic change that took place that I wasn't aware of. Very nice catch indeed!
-
Awesome observation. That never occurred to me, I simply thought the way the mechanic used to work was changed at some point or something. So that covers placate not granting Hidden when Hide is toggled off, but what about what's causing the Dark Primary to fast cast instead of slow cast after Placate? or are you saying hidden is not being granted with Hide on either? *Checks video to see*

Increase Merit Rewards for Arcs Impacted by Crey Buffs
Solarverse replied to Katharos's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
That covers one of my concerns. So we know for a fact that the Devs ignore the data of the speed runners?
