  1. This. It is a very interesting and unique power. Most people don't even scratch the surface with it.
  2. I'm really hoping that they change the ATO so it can be slotted in any dom power rather than only in a "control" power if /thorny didn't have redraw I'd be all over it. Impale takes the +dam ATO, you have build up and very good DPA attacks and some really good proc options.
  3. I have a poison/fire that will do great things once it is finished. It was a chore to play prior to getting 25%+ defense onto the build though. I originally eyeballed pistols heavily for chem rounds because you can still -dam +level AVs into the ground with the combo. But losing out on aim and a good nuke turned me off. The synergy is good though for poison/pistols That said I wouldnt recommend poison to a new player. You need to be in melee and you dont have much to keep you alive there. plus mez ruins the set. The issues can be overcome, but it is a lot of work to extract the potential.
  4. Meh I'd just like them to speed up shout a lot. Cut a full second and a half off that animation. I think one time I hit a target that wasn't already dead on a team. Howl could be a bit faster. Shockwave could be faster too. Screech would be nice if it did damage like the sentinel version shriek and scream should have a bit slower base recharge.
  5. I'm not sure what you mean? The slotting I use has 98% dam enhancement and 4 damage procs. I like neg energy procs because they are rarely resisted. A 3.5ppm proc vs 33% dam enhancement below alpha range is more or less a wash. The enhancement adds a bit more damage, the proc is probably a better damage type. Hawk at base has a 91% (90) chance to proc 3.5ppm. You are correct that you definitely want to get good damage enhancement value into the power as it does 200-235 base damage. There is certainly value in getting hawk to cycle faster. I favor hitting harder a bit less often, but that is just my preference.
  6. If you can free up another slot, I'd add forcefeedback too. Doggo is a really good pet. True to life :) Shadow field is a great aoe hold and debuff field. I don't actually use possess very often. Nor do I use living shadows much. I'm stuck with shadows, or maiming slash though. Either would work for me I suppose
  7. I wish you luck. I tested it extensively on my plant/poison in saturated farms and eventually just conceded that I don't know enough about the power to explain its behavior beyond stating that it is quite good. In that environment PT fired the troller ATO damage proc at just a slight less rate than creepers did. I'd have to dig around for the post I made on it. At any rate, i keep it in PT because I control when and where vs creepers. The -res proc may be over questionable value to you as a mind controller though. Just depends how much aoe you pump out shortly after PT or if you are teaming I suppose. For my plant/poison it was a good choice because it boosts my roots spam and creepers.
  8. Apologies. I swapped some stuff around at the last minute and just glanced at unkindess, forgetting that it has an acc bonus. This one should get you 95% vs +3's all the way down to lvl 27. Perma dom doesn't realistically start till lvl 39 unless you really push the blood stacks prior. I don't find I fight +4's very very often once you level shift. Most everyone runs lower lvl tfs at easier difficulties. What I mean by a "barrier" build is that it uses destiny barrier, which at its lowest buff is 5% def (all). Fearsome stare is an 11.7% debuff vs +3's in this build. So that plus 5% from barrier is 16.7%. So anything at 28.3% def or higher will be "softcapped" at 45%. So that is s/l/e/n and ranged. There is definitely some things that doesn't work out well against though haha, but overall you get a pretty sturdy experience for most stuff.
  9. For me, viscous slash, super bird of death, and feral charge are usually "enough" single target attacks. If it is a long st fight then I start to mix in unkindness as it has 2 -res procs. Nothing wrong with rending flurry. I took it on my grav/sav because wormhole packs everything nice and tight, so you don't need 5 stacks. I find that on my dark/sav the mobs are often a bit too spread to make good use of it unless it is at 5 stacks, but I usually fire off a hawk before then so I don't hit 5 often.
  10. With both a sav/shield and a sav/bio at 50 I can tell you that savage is a lot more endurance hungry than people realize. As soon as you proc out savage leap and feel its power, you move faster than anyone else and your chain is as thirsty, or more, as any. As I said in the OP, play whatever secondary you enjoy, they are all decent. Every stalker can take shadowmeld too... I'm not going to go too deeply into various armor sets as I've only tried to max out /bio and /shield for stalkers. All the other ones had holes, or were lacking aspects that I was unable to overcome to promote a wide array of play using no insp/temp/lore. I can tell you that my shield sucks against raluruu, DE if you don't kill quartz drops, The toxic tentacles in apex/tinmage, and the IDF has something that wrecks me out of nowhere if I sit in a spawn for too long (and it isn't the warwalker red thing). Most everything else just plinks away at you and you have lots of time to react because you have some res to everything (but psi), good +hp and high ddr. I no insp/temp/lore'd a +2 silver mantis the other night. I'm sure someone has beaten her with a naked defender, but it was a pretty good victory as she has the tools to counter /shield pretty well.
  11. I feel like you guys have chased recharge a bit too much imo. I run at 90% global which is enough for perma dom. Once you add in the rech from blood stacks it is usually enough for perma hasten. This is the proc-tastic approach I took. It's intended to be a barrier build, which means you are "softcapped" to s/l/e/n/ranged vs +3's that you hit with fearsome stare. Dog is a good pet, I don't use most pets though.
  12. No I like ice armor. Immunity to slows/rech debuff, +perception, and zero endurance issues are all really nice. the set struggles against fire, toxic and psi though. Fire is easy enough to fix, though redundant as it is already great against cold and fire def/res IOs are always paired with cold. Still not too hard to get up to acceptable levels. The psi hole is a tough one though. But at least you are immune to the -rech that most psi powers pack. And bastion does give quite a bit of regen. toxic probably isnt common enough to worry too much.
  13. If your goal is super high recharge then you nailed it 🙂 cycling rune and melee hybrid should make you pretty robust I find feral charge is pretty subpar without procs. I'd still use it even in a world without procs, but I'd just use it for the great movement. I'd strive for either 32.5%, 40%, or 45% def to s/l That puts you 1 small purple, or barrier at lowest, away from softcap.
  14. I used radial ageless on my sav/shield stalker. Takes your 71% and puts you at 91-95% ddr. It was essential for a no insp/temp/lore solo 4x8 itf. barrier works well for shield too but requires a bit more mindful monitoring when facing debuffers.
  15. Quite possibly... I certainly had degen on my demon/storm. If everything was stacking it beyond the limit then that would indeed be crazy given how many sources you have with hell on earth active. I havent followed interface development closely but wasnt it bugged and not stacking properly for a long time until a recent patch? Was it perhaps the recent patch that is allowing it to overstack? Either way, fixes are good, so good find! playing demon/storm feels like work sometimes, but I have a much better build than I used back then in the works.
  16. I like ice armor for a lot of reasons, but you can drive a truck through the holes that it has defensively. elec armor is solid in in just about every way except toxic I don't have a build for either those armor sets.
  17. /psi tends to be very low damage compared to just about every other secondary though. At least you can put the +dam ATO into subdue and use it as part of your attack chain, which helps a bit. You need a proc build for /psi to do decent damage and then it becomes really hard to get the 300% rech for perma drain psyche. Great power though. I agree entirely about boosting doms hp, that makes a lot of sense. I'd also normalize their control strength to match controllers outside of domination and adjust domination accordingly to match current duration. I'd also like to see more healing options for them. /psi is great, /dark is good, /sav has a 3 min timer on its heal? junk. /rad is iffy. Everyone else is up ****creek. Damage will get through, sometimes lots of it. And every dom assault set has powers that encourage melee combat.
  18. Couple things to consider: shield charge and Lightning Rod are psuedo pets (currently) and as such have a much lower damage cap. I think people either don't use these attacks or are overstating their potency. They are good, but nothing remotely like the first iteration of DE (DC at the time). DE should be subject to the much higher damage caps that all three melee AT's have compared to (psuedo) pets. Haven't tried the new version, but it does sound like it swung too far back. Again, as I suggested before, look to the original design you first had but expand the aoe. That will reign in the damage to a more appropriate level while making the power more useable as either purpose. Crits or something special in place of crits should be fine. It is not great design when an AT can't use a power the way they should.
  19. Exactly. I like my dark/sav, but fearsome stare is pretty slow and tends to keep mobs spread further apart. It is very strong though with haunts, doggo and lots of tohit debuffs. Heart of darkness doesn't seem to be as fast as indicated though. I like my grav/sav because wormhole w/ kd packs mobs nice and tight. Lift is a good attack and singy is great. Wormhole recharges a bit too slow though and is a super long animation. I want to like my fire/sav because I think it would ultimately be the best blender. Char is fine as an attack and means you get the dom ATO +dam working for you. Hot feet, imps and bonefire could all be good. At lvl 41 the dam thing can barely take on 0x3 settings though heh, so I can't really leverage all the aoe action. A mez-oriented scrapper sounds like a good fit for /sav. Plant of course can't do much vs AV's, but such is life.
  20. It's not all that different than the issues that sentinels have right now. You either bring meaningful buff/debuff or you bring heaps of damage. With scraps, brutes and now tanks* being so drastically over tuned relative to squishies it leaves control in a tough spot. *I left stalkers off this list. Imo they are the only melee AT that is balanced properly at this point with regard to damage/survival/utility. Doms are super fun and dynamic though. I love solo'ing with them and if you can get on a team of 3-5 set for x8 you make a very tangible contribution as control is still valued. Provided you have someone to keep you standing because huge aoe controls pull heaps of aggro.
  21. I love feral charge so much. i'd pay real money for it to be in savage melee too. I can't find the "right" primary for /sav though. I've tried dark, fire, and grav now all into the 40's. I just want to fight all the time with /sav So I'm thinking of trying plant/sav because seeds is that good and it is fast. Rending flurry is also pretty small outside of 5 stacks, so bunched up mobs would help.
  22. Dom's don't tend to be aoe powerhouses. They don't tend to be st powerhouses either. Though a fire/fire or dark/fire dom can probably exceed most blasters in st damage. A plant/fire/fire can do pretty respectable aoe damage, with very good clear speeds, but it will never have the burst of a nuke oedipus_tex is correct, a lot of tanks can pretty easily out damage and definitely out aoe most doms. They both control entire spawns, just in different ways.
  23. I fully expected this power to either have a partial or no crit at all. I thought I posted about it, but never hit submit. At any rate, I strongly vote for DC to have a bigger aoe and do less damage. 8ft aoes are not very good imo and given the extreme damage and lengthy recharge this will result in annoying corner pulls and frustrated DM users if and when some troller knocks their mobs away. 12ft with lower damage please.
  24. kismet is tohit. Probably transfers to PT vs +3 you have base tohit of 48% and your debuffs are 65% as effective vs +4 you have base tohit of 39% and your debuffs are 48% as effective Id guess your venomous gas is base -def, so -10% vs +3 your PT has (48+6+6.5)*1.47 = 89% chance to hit them vs +4 your PT has (39+6+4.8)*1.47 = 73% chance to hit them PT has a 20ft radius, Venomous gas has a 15ft, so not everyone will be affected by VG thus further lowering your final tohit chance against them. I went nerve on my plant/poison proc build because it helps PT (and creepers) Also I wouldn't slot damage into PT myself. I'd (and do) 6 proc it. 3 of which are purple damage procs. If you can't get enough acc then 5 proc with an Acc.
  25. As I've said before in the past: IOs do a lot more for boosting survivability than they do for boosting damage. You may double or in some cases even triple your dps, but you can improve your survival rate by many more times than that. A heavily IOd blaster demonstrates the idea of "enough" survivability and gets to leverage their extreme aoe and high st damage. A heavy IOd sentinel becomes absurdly survivable (probably way more than is needed) at range but lacks the force multiplication found in the debuffing ATs to have great damage. With SOs or even mild IOs sentinels are way more robust than blasters, cores, doms, etc. And do damage that is probably commensurate of that. Extreme IO builds are extreme. That said, all the nukes should have been reworked to be ranged for sentinels and melee attacks in the epics was a strange decision.
