issue 26 Patch Notes for February 18th, 2020
Frosticus replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
It will be nice not be spammed by "assassins mark" when using shield charge as it didnt actually refresh buildup. That said, is there any way to get shield charge (and lightning rod I presume) to work with assassins mark? -
I'd suggest sm/shield is best played as a stalker, but it would still do heaps of aoe damage and ok single target as a scrapper
-
grav/traps has tremendous synergy too. I think the most complimentary secondary for illusion is /cold Lots of really good pairings though.
-
yah I think people overthink summoning and resummoning. I treat the t1s as the expendible buggers that they are, often not even bothering to upgrade them. they are little more than seeker drones in some situations.
-
yes. damage is a fine choice. ATOs will improve both his controls so that isnt bad either. some like the kd IO.
-
interesting. almost like it is proccing but it procs on the "pet" and as such does nothing. does lightning rod have this issue too? savage leap works differently than the other telenukes. It works correctly.
-
I have a stone/bio brute that is a lot of fun. Stone melee has tons of +rech proc slots and can keep a group stunned/knocked pretty well which gives bio ample opportunity to cycle its powerful clicks. I imagine the tank version would be a lot of fun too.

Ya, the dom ATOs are sort of junk. The fire front is disappointing (as is the troller one too). The +dam one could be ok, I'd be happy if you could slot it in any damage power from the prim/secondary. As you say, not many assault sets can even slot it and where you can slot it you probably dont even want it there. To me it is strange that I can put assassins mark in dna siphon, which is a purely offensive proc in a defensive power, but I cant put the +dam ATO on my dominator into fireblast.
-
yes. I frequently see the notification on screen but BU doesnt refresh. sav/shield -t4d I was under the suspicion that they was a hidden cooldown, but that doesn't seem to be the case as other times it pops on every single attack given how many aoes sav/shield/mu has. It may be related to shield charge specifically?
-
there is a guide to stalkers on page 2 by Croax, he gives extensive insight into ninja blade. It will likely serve you well.
-
interestingly enough, the taunt of the haunts is misleading. They dont actually taunt the target, but rather they are taunted on to the initial target that you cast them upon. So they focus on that target until it is defeated and then free roam like a normal pet until expiry.

It's a proc-tastic build. I'll post it up when I have a chance. I originally planned rebirth as well because it is fantastic, but shield is pretty stable against most stuff at +4x8. I've found 90%+ ddr to be very valuable though. I cycle melee hybrid and OWtS in the hard stuff, so that full end bar after the "soft" crash is handy. I think a rebirth build could do just fine or even excel in most situations.

I use cardiac 45% and still need ageless radial as my end can and does still tank at the speed you can clear full mobs. I dont slot acc instead relying on global bonuses and tohit buffs sufficient to hit +3s at 95% ageless core would obviously solve things but I like the debuff immunity that radial offers.
-
Will it protect me in the lava pools or not? 🙂

I have a fire/bio and a beam/bio, both in the late 30's/early 40's. The movement bonus the set offers is really enjoyable and helps you quickly evade troublesome situations like debuff patches or melee heavy enemies. Genomic evolution doesn't actually boost range in offensive mode. Seems minor, but bugged powers wear at me. I like rebuild dna more than dna siphon. It is generally vs 1-3 hard targets that I find I need healing at which point the reliability and non-conditionality of rebuild dna is preferable. I prefer sentinel /bio over stalker /bio and I think it fits sentinels better than the melee version would despite how strong it is.

It isnt the most powerful but I tried a grav/sav on test and it is super cool because you can intercept your target at the top of the arc when you use lift on them and then hit them with feral charge. Also if you wormhole target(s) up against a far wall/roof you can feral charge up and intercept them as well. And then feral charge down to where they land shortly after if you are hovering. very "master of space" feeling and I have an entire teleporting concept in mind.

Yes, I split superior mark into 3 different pets (or applicable powers) for the super easy 30% global rech. I tend to frankenslot (and proc) my key powers across all my characters and chase set bonuses in my less used/less important powers. For example if you 4 piece superior command and 2 piece superior mark - you can have a single power that grants you 20% global rech along with some other nice bonuses.
-
I did: superior mark: acc/dam, dam superior command: acc/dam impeded swiftness: smash proc that leaves 2 slots to either stick some pet procs or boost his controls, or reduce his endurance costs (but you may not need the latter with heatloss). Just depends what you want from the build though. One things to keep in mind though (I may mistaken, in which case I apologize) is that the entomb set will only apply to the powers that could normally take that set (ie block of ice). So his other powers will essentially be unslotted.
-
Fair enough. He also does almost as much damage as the bruiser from thugs. Whatever works though
-
I can't imagine entomb being particularly effective in the demon prince. Every /cold I've built (several now) has very high uptime of heatloss. You should have no endurance issues as long as you are close enough to receive the buff off the target.
-
The -regen of /psi, or the massive dps (and range) of /fire are good choices. I'll toss a nod toward dark control. You can stack confuses almost as well as mind, but do a truck load more damage with haunts and doggo. The considerable tohit debuffing, even though heavily resisted, can still make a dent when layered with decent defenses. They generally don't have a direct approach though as they lack the debuffs/armor to take them head on as well as some other AT's. IO's, insp, temps, just depends what you are willing to utilize.
-
you could check out my thread on plant/poison from a couple months ago. I wouldnt say it is fantastic vs AVs, but it excels at aoe damage and is one of the fastest team kill speed boosters you can make with regard to clearing content.
-
as junky as hurl boulder is, the thought of throwing one from the shadows and taking someone from surprise is why I want stone melee for stalkers.
-
you might have success applying the bs/shield builds from the stalker forum. it should at least get you 90% of the way there
-
Perhaps, but phantom army and seeker drones allow even a low level controller to break alphas with near impunity by rotating them. It loses some value over time as others catch up in that ability. But things like arachnos alphas can always give pause.
