  1. These two things seem contradictory to me. Talk amongst yourselves and get back to us. Once you change or address it, will leadership toggles: 1) suppress stealth when solo? 2) suppress defense when solo? 3) suppress stealth when teamed or have active pet? 4) suppress defense when teamed or have active pet? I don't know how you guys want it to work, but it seems to me if I am chilling with my friends all stealthy and chatting but not attacking critters or players that we should not suddenly lose stealth or defense. I don't think that we should lose stealth or defense for any self or ally buff whether active or passive. I think that we should be able to run up to an AV, buff the team to high heaven, and then attack said AV without losing stealth or defense until the attacking starts, unless the AV or his nearby friends have perception bonuses greater than our stealth.
  2. Ooh! That reminds me that I made an elec/elec blaster with several of those. I need to run him again and see if I notice the difference.
  3. I've been trying to think ahead of what to make when the patch goes live. Now that it's here, it's time to make decisions. So far I was thinking of a Grav/Time/Sorcery, AR/TA Corrupter or TA/AR defender, and Bots/Rad MM with group fly. What are you thinking of making to take advantage of the new changes?
  4. I think that +ing an IO should block catalyzing it, just like catalyzing blocks +ing. Make it the same both ways. I can't think of a good reason not to. (except perhaps for some coding irregularity)
  5. But Jimmy, how am I supposed to read all this and still have time to play?
  6. Also in the Zero camp. I'll play with a Mids build for hours until I get something that looks good on paper and I may make a change (intentionally or accidentally) while playing. I sometimes want to respec to change and make it better, but after playing it for a bit I find it good enough. I might respec more if I did not hate it so much. When I have respecced I have had to start all over due to a slotting mistake or picking a power too late in a build. Yes, I respec my respec.
  7. Not necessary, but nice.
  8. Definitely maybe. It depends how you play and who you play with. I never skip taunt, the power, on a tank, because I feel that is an essential job of the tank. A brute can be an off-tank, or even a main tank for a team. Some of my brutes took taunt, some didn't and I wouldn't expect any brute I played with to have it, but it's nice when they do.
  9. In a real tight build, I can see skipping seekers. But it's hard to beat as a one slot wonder. Without any slotting, each one can 1) draw aggro 2) reduce enemy tohit by 6.65%, 3) reduce enemy damage by 26%, 4) drops enemy perception by 90%, 5) 25% chance for a mag 2 stun, 6) minor damage (~14). That's a lot that benefits you, your pets, and your team.
  10. I did notice this as well as I was testing the new Spirit Ward. I initially didn't know where the sound was coming from but was looking at my pets combat attributes just as a stack expired and renewed. I'm not sure that it needs any sound other than the initial buff. But I certainly agree that the constant noise of acquiring last stack/losing last stack/acquiring last stack/losing last stack in perpetuity is a little much.
  11. I like these "behind the curtain" updates. Continued thanks for your efforts.
  12. I think you will see more 2 and 3 slotting of BotZ and the run/jump/fly sets with stealth. Two Zephyrs will get you -KB and minor ranged + E/N defense. Three adds minor AoE +F/C defense. Two Celerity is Stealth and S/L resistance; three adds to MaxHP. Two Unbounded Leap is Stealth and a boost to all travel speeds; three adds to MaxHP. Two Freebird is Stealth and Regen; three adds adds to MaxHP again. I think you will also see people adding boosters to those and generic run/jump/fly IOs.
  13. Jinkies! A clue!
  14. I was just messing around in Mids with a Bots/Rad design I might make when the game is updated. It's a work in progress and it might change as I play it, but it looks good to me on paper. The concept is to be in Group Fly with the Bots most of the time and to be an AV/GM killer. Build below (PS - The slotting in Afterburner is a placeholder for Evasive Maneuvers):
  15. I had a feeling my base NPC was a Karen . . .
  16. I have several traps characters: Traps/Beam defender, Bots/Traps MM, AR/Traps corrupter, and Traps/Dual Pistols Defender. I essentially play all of them similarly -- Superspeed with stealth with Force Field Generator and maybe seekers up; set procced out poison trap and acid mortar; and then from there either the Bots show up or I start firing up my AoEs. I always skip time bomb - I have tried to use it but it's one of the worst powers in the game, IMO. My newest is the Traps/Beam with the new fold space power from teleport pool. It is awesome for Traps characters. Set up your kill field nearby, then fold space everything into it! Works great solo and even on teams if you can 'port the next mob to your group.
  17. This is fairly close to what I do. The main difference is that I generally will not buy salvage nor do I sell recipes (other than generics to vendor). I craft what I can from salvage at hand and sell, convert, or store when I have something decent. Since I am not paying for the salvage I consider it "free" even though I realize that there is the opportunity cost of a lost sale. I do this with dedicated fire farmers as well as all my other characters. I have a little over 2 dozen 50s over two accounts that I generally play one at a time unless PLing something new and I alternate PLing with old fashioned leveling, mainly solo at the highest setting I can and throw in an occasional TF or I-trial. Each one starts with 200-300k start-up cash to buy the various P2W goodies and a build. By the time they are 50+3 (my personal "done" spot) they have already made up those funds and frequently doubled it. And once they are done I might have each character place lowball bids on recipes and IOs to convert and sell. The dedicated farmers tend to stay in Pocket D AE to farm, PL, vendor, and market. Since they rarely leave except to get accolades they have few merits so they buy lowball bid converters.
  18. Make KB distance give bonus damage equal to equivalent fall damage. Force Bolt slotted for knockback would then be a great attack.
  19. For me, it's mainly the low damage, single target ranged holds that are perfect for multiple procs. Second to that would be the low to no damage big AoE Holds. Both can take multiple procs including PvP and Purples, which tend to be better. I can also get proc crazy in caltrops since you can fill it with procs. It doesn't need accuracy and the small DoTs aren't worth spending damage slots on. But after that, there are numerous powers that you can four or 5 slot a set with a proc and then add an extra proc at then end. But yeah, it's a balance between procs and all the other goodies one wants in a build: enough accuracy to hit consistently, endurance to continue fighting, and all the defense, resist, and recharge money can buy!
  20. This is the thread that "started" the rage. I put "started" in quotes because people have been using procs for ages, but Sir Myskin certainly started a revival and grew the trend.
